Now some caveats. I strongly suggest some form of rental insurance. I’ve
Also if you are going to book September October please be sure you know how to make a fire in a woodstove. There is no central heat and I would not want anyone uncomfortable as it can get a bit nippy at night. We do provide plenty of wood and space heaters.
Bring drinking water.
Verizon cell phones do not work at the cottage but there is a regular phone there. AT&T does work and I don’t know about other providers. At the corner of the lake where routes 2 and 15 intersect I was able to access Verizon most of the time.
Vacations are a very special time . I am putting these statements in so you have no surprises. Waters Edge is a magical spot and my favorite place on earth. Best to all, Mary Ellen

Lovely lake cabin.

This place is a perfect getaway for us, with plenty of activities to keep us busy while still feeling like we have time to relax and unwind. In addition to kayaking and taking in the beauty of Joe's Pond, we biked along the rail trail, checked out the nearby pickleball courts, and took our two pups on multiple trips to visit and hike around Dog Mountain.
Thank you for making your vacation cottage available!

This was our second summer in this rental. Despite the flooding rains we enjoyed some lovely days on the water. The deck offers wonderful views of Joe's pond and the house is bright, clean, comfortable and fully equipped with everything we needed. The beach area has a variety of boats and life vests for use, and the rail trail close by offers walking, hiking, biking or running opportunity. The internet was strong and uninterrupted even through the steadiest of rain. The decorative charm and comforts of the cottage made even the rainy days relaxing and restorative.
We were most impressed with the support of the owner and property managers in assuring us a positive stay despite the challenges of the flooding rains that plagued all Vermont during our stay.

The location was good overall as it was on a more quieter and private section of the lake however the lake was very busy with jet skis and fast motor boats. We had thought it would be a quieter lake. Despite that we did enjoy swimming our quieter section and paddling. The walking/ bike path was nice to have for walking our two dogs, though we wished it was not just 10 feet from the house! Our dogs got excited by every walker/ biker that passed by. It was great to have a beach and several kayaks to choose from. A sandy beach made swimming and boating access easy though we didn’t feel comfortable to share it with the owner’s step daughter, who lived across from us, despite how welcoming she was of us and our two dogs. But that’s on us! The kitchen was well equipped. The view was terrific while eating on the deck! It was a great convenience to have the linens included and the option of an air conditioner in the bedroom for the hot days we had. The seating was not very comfortable in the main living area but we managed. Overall we had a very nice week!

We enjoyed our stay on the shores of Joe's Pond. The location was fabulous! We enjoyed the peaceful views, local hiking trails and biking on the rail trail.

My Sweet Hubby & I really enjoyed our stay!!! The caretaker David of the property checked in with us to make sure everything was ok as well as well as the owner who was absolutely a delight to deal with. We loved our view of Joe’s Pond every morning while we had our breakfast. My son lives in St. Johnsbury so we will be back!!!!😁

What a beautiful location! Everything was perfect for our long weekend getaway. We had kayaks at our disposal, a lovely view of the pond, a cosy cottage, and a full kitchen. If we return to Vermont, we will definitely stay here again.

This cottage is very comfortable, but don’t expect a 5 star . It has all the amenities you would need or want. Location is amazing feet away from the water and also feet away from the rail trail great for walking the pooch or biking. Will definitely be back.

This property is nothing short of magical. My older dog is instantly a puppy again and frolicking with her younger sister with an ear-to-ear toothy grin we haven’t seen in years. Our younger dog is enchanted with the water and wants to spend every moment swimming out after her sticks and toys. We’re grateful to the host for sharing this wonderful cabin with us. 💕

I had a wonderful 3 weeks at Mary Ellen's place. It is on the water's edge with loons appearing frequently along with ducks, an occasional eagle and kingfisher. The water sparkles. There is a bit of activity on the water and long periods of quiet. The cottage is on the bike path and people are very respectful and pleasant. The cottage itself is a bit funky but has a good bed and internet. I was comfortable enough. Being on the water and having the deck allowed me and my dog to be outside almost all the time. A lovely place!!

This is a small cabin for two with a lovely view across Joe's Pond from the deck and main windows. The very deep sofa in the main room makes for an excellent second bed. Except for the occasional calls of the local loons, the nights were silent and serene. We had use of several kayaks and a canoe with a close-by launching area, and the community tennis/pickle-ball courts were a quick 5 minute walk along the trail that runs along the old railroad bed right next to the cabin and goes all the way into Saint Johnsbury.

We enjoyed our stay at Joes Pond! I grew up swimming here ever summer with my siblings. We hope to come for a stay every year.

This property was perfect for us. We loved the location by the water offering incredible views of the lake, a comfortable deck under shade trees, easy access to a beach area, and the availability of chairs, boats & floats.
The cottage has our kind of charm, antique rugs and decor that is funky wonderful, and comfortable. The kitchen is complete with all you could want, and the openness of the main room feels airy and spacious. The porch off the bedroom is a bonus, either waking up to the sun on the lake or going to sleep to the lake breeze.
David our host was accommodating and friendly. Mary Ellen was quick to respond to my questions to make the process easy.
Our 15 year old golden was content to spend her days watching the lake activity from the deck or wading at the beach, all accessible for her elder bones. We enjoyed the trails for walking and biking and Sanbel’s food truck was a great alternative to cooking. We only hope this cottage will be available for us next year. Thank you for an incredible stay.

Willing to stay again during this winter time but I’ll wait until next year to stay for a couple of more probably two weeks

Lovely cottage right on the lake. Bring your own drinking water!

Very beautiful setting. We went to be close to dog mountain in St Johnsbury. Cabin near Great walking, running, biking on long railroad trail. Wish I brought my bike and swim suit.

Cabin is exactly as listed, and the lake is GORGEOUS. The location is great, views are great, and we had a great time!

The listing for this little slice of heaven was accurate. Nestled in cedar trees right on Joes Pond. The property was quiet and private. The manager lives behind on the other side of the rail trail. They were respectful of our privacy and available if needed. The cottage is cute and rustic. We needed to utilize the AC in the bedroom for a string of very hot days and it worked fine for us. There was plenty of shade and nice breezes coming off the lake, sitting on either deck. Many lovely views walking along the lake for morning exercise. Have a maple whoopie pie from the general store, you will not regret it!

The location on the lake was beautiful! But, there were many issues with the cabin. If guests are staying there, it should have been cleaned throughly. Windows were dirty. Shower curtain was black mold. Needed to be replaced ages ago! Greasy shelves over the stove is badly need of cleaning. Would not use any glasses or spices in that area. And for the water issues……understanding that we had to be very careful of the septic tank. It was a pain. The futon is also needed to be cleaned. Didn’t want to sit on that. The bed was ok. The picture shown online is inaccurate. Needs a coat of paint.

We had a wonderful time on the lake. Close to many places to visit. Just wish the microwave worked better- the plate did not rotate. Lovely time and great location.

We had a great relaxing getaway here. Wished we could’ve stayed long we!

This lovely lakeside cottage is exactly what we were hoping for! Perfectly clean, well-stocked kitchen, easy communication. The house is the perfect size for two people, small enough to feel cozy, with enough room to spread out a little, and plenty of space for the dog to settle in as well :) Beautiful sunny deck, no shortage of kayaks - we had an amazing time on the water, and my dog loved splashing around in the water as well! In the evening it was just chilly enough to light a fire in the wood stove and snuggle under the warm blankets on the couch. The surrounding area is beautiful, with lots of little dining options and hikes. It was the perfect peaceful getaway!

We really appreciated this fine hospitality. This was an honest accommodation with our dogs which can strain the best of properties although as dog parents we try our best to manage. We really appreciated the location of this great natural beauty right on a big lake around nice people. This luxury "cabin" was on an end of a culdesac which merged into a trailhead for walking and bike trail. There was some fine decorations, extra comforts and fine linens which we saved from having our dogs trample upon. We really enjoyed a large beachfront yard, very dog-friendly features. The waves from the lake and 2 decks off of the cabin were so relaxing. I enjoyed the inside decorations related to the fine culture of dogs and nature. There were many items to help us including many fine spices and plate ware for our meals. We enjoyed the local eateries in Danville, close to this cabin on the lake. Also we were invited to select from multiple kayaks. The launching area into the lake was very easy for an agile old person. I wish the stairs off of the deck had a rail and was better constructed for even step lenth needed as old person walking her dogs on leashes. To the manager's defense, the add did not claim any handicap access to their credit. We enjoyed the internet, cable TV too when tired from our excursions. There are many explorations to be made which are so enriching. We are glad to have discovered this place which is close to a great tourist excursion "Dog Mountain" which our dogs loved.
