About this cottage rental

Nestled in the cozy cottage community of MacIntyre Shore in Donaldston, PEI (Mount Stewart postal district), Honeycomb Cottage is close to many beaches, and a short drive to Charlottetown, Cavendish, golf courses, the National Park, and many outdoor activities. Honeycomb Cottage is winterized too, so it's a great weekend getaway perfect for snowshoeing or winter hikes. There are large front and back yards, a wrap-around deck with BBQ (in summertime), a well-stocked kitchen for cooking, and there is a playground just one lot over from the cottage. Honeycomb Cottage is a perfect vacation home for families, couples or friends. Tourist Establishment License # 2202909.

The main living area is in the centre and has a large, high hexagon-shaped ceiling (hence "Honeycomb Cottage"). The main bedroom and ensuite are off one side of the main living space, and the "guest wing" with two bedrooms, laundry and bathroom is off the other side. All bedrooms have closets and dressers not seen in the photos.

There are some stores nearby with some food and convenience items, but to fully stock up on groceries you will most likely need to go the a big grocery store in Charlottetown (Superstore or Sobeys). Local stores (seasonal) include Jewell's Country Market in Marshfield, The Shore Market at Covehead Harbour in the National Park (really awesome!), and Lily's Convenience and Irving and Ultramar Gas Stations in Dunstaffnage, Scotchfort and Mount Stewart are open year-round.

There is an "info sheet" with more pertinent information, brochures and suggestions of things to do. There is a TV, no cable, but there is Chrome Cast so you can stream from your phone or tablet.

Cancellation Policy: Travellers who cancel at least 30 days before check-in will get back 100% of the amount they've paid. If they cancel between 14 and 30 days before check-in, they'll get back 50%. Otherwise, they won't get a refund.

Our house rules: primary renter must be 25 or older, no smoking, no parties or events, and maximum of six people staying/sleeping in the cottage. Pets are permitted for a fee.

Drove all the way from Ontario and it was well worth it! Cottage was spacious and clean. Great location close to national park. Also really enjoyed the honeycomb theme as a bee keeper. Great place to stay!

We were 6 adults, 1 child and 2 dogs. Lots of room to spread out. Well equipped lovely cottage. Enjoyed the screened in porch. Close to beaches and restaurants(less than 30 minutes). Owner was always quick to respond to emails. Would definitely rent it again!

Enjoyed our stay. My elderly mom would have preferred to have some “ regular “ TV , so my only suggestion would be to add satellite TV. Did see a few eurwiges in the kitchen but I know this is common for cottages without a basement. Loved the separation of the sleeping areas. Overall would highly recommend it to my friends

Quiet and serene with all the amenities of home. Lots of room for us as a family of four. We worked online for part of the stay and had no issues with online meetings. Host Dianne was awesome to deal with. We had a great stay.

A spacious bright comfortable cottage. It was a perfect layout for 2 couples with it's 2 separate wings and would also work well for a family. Well equipped. Close to all the popular tourist spots. Unfortunately we had to leave this beautiful property a day early due to Fiona but hope to return soon. Thank you Dianne for everything!!

Thanks so much for the lovely stay, Dianne. The cottage was super clean, the kitchen well equipped, and lots of space for all of us. The screened in porch was terrific as the maritime mosquitos are fierce in the evenings. We made great use of the parks pass and loved being less than 20 minutes from beautiful beaches. Our family fell in love with PEI and we look forward to coming to coming back.

We spent a lovely week at Honeycomb Cottage which was very comfortable, spacious and very well-equipped. We loved the huge veranda and especially the screened porch. It was a great place for a family holiday. Dianne was very helpful and accommodating especially dealing with a wasp nest!! And PEI (? Dianne) delivered perfect weather!

The property is lovely, 30 minutes to Charlottetown, very nice My one problem is that when I booked it, I thought it was in Canadian dollars, turned out to be American which cost us 30% more, what can VRBO do for us?

Cottage was perfect for our growing adult family. Loved having the master suite on opposite side of family suite. Never heard the baby or the late night owls in the group! The great room was great for small toddler. Enjoyed the screened in porch for early morning coffee or night cap. Mosquitoes were the only issue. Play ground was a plus!

The property is beautiful. Close to the beach and hiking, and not far from downtown Charlottetown. The kitchen was well stocked, and we enjoyed having the two separate wings for each couple in our party. Dianne ensured that we had everything we needed. Overall I would stay again.

The property suited our needs just fine. We were at the tail end of the season, and one of the bathrooms was not working, which was inconvenient considering that was one of the pluses for us when booking (two bathrooms). There was also some communication issues with the owner on checkout - we got out in time, and left the keys as we found them, but received a message when we were already at the airport that she wanted us to lock everything up as she wouldn’t be at the property for a while. We received an angry message from her a little too late.Other than those couple hiccups, we were happy with the property and the amenities there. The owner was friendly and we had a nice stay on the island. We would recommend this property.

Well located, and well laid out, this was perfect for us for a few days on the island. Nice and close to everything we wanted to do, and the layout of the space itself was thoughtful. Everything we needed was available, and we were very comfortable, including on a rainy night with nothing to do but sit and play cards at the kitchen table. We would definitely stay here again!
