The Hawthorns was perfect for us. The kids loved it. It was clean, cosy and has amazing views. Having the gym and sauna was incredible too.
David the owner could not have been kinder or more helpful to us during our stay (even helping is change our car tyre).
A great location on the island for exploring everything.

We were a group of 6 girls celebrating a big birthday over a bank holiday weekend and so came loaded with lots of lovely food and drinks. Having been out for a meal in Peel the location was perfect. The kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms were all comfortable and well equipped (although we did lack a spatula).
On the Sunday we booked a two hour private session in the spa, however, sadly the jacuzzi was unusable due to the high levels of chlorine. Our eyes were stinging and streaming so we could not bear more than 5 minutes sat in it. There also seemed to be a fake tan scum and some unidentifiable floaty bits. We did make use of the sauna and steam room but were still feeling the sting from the jacuzzi experience.
We were also a little peturbed by the notice in the living room warning that the door at the end adjoins with a bedroom next door where we were told a new baby was staying. However, we moved our celebrations to the kitchen and hope that we did not cause any disturbance to the other visitors. We did have a wonderful weekend though overall.

We stayed at the Hawthorns for 4 nights over Easter. We had no problem finding it and arrival procedures were straight forward. The property has 3 good sized bedrooms, two bathrooms plus a separate toilet and a good sized lounge and kitchen. The situation was beautiful and an added bonus was the Spa & gym including hot tub, sauna and steam room - all straight forward to operate.
The only downside really is the lack of taxis around Peel however we did find one guy who was very helpful. Otherwise someone needs to drive if you want to go out for the night.
The owners were very friendly and helpful and we would definitely return

The property is fantastic, I would just recommend that Island Escapes are better at communicating when questions are asked through the booking process.

Hot tub and sauna made it extra special.

Excellent stay again. The only negatives are no option of baby gates and the tv could do with an update. But fantastic to stay again.

As I said in the form I filled in before leaving, we find Ballacallin Court an excellent base with good facilities.
Please stop asking for more reviews as it's spoiling the experience.

Absolutely loved this property. Great for our family of five. Plenty of room and everything we needed. Stunning inside and out great location. The owner was onsite for help with anything if needed and plenty of outside space and games for the children to run around and have fun. I can not fault this place at all. However when trying to find the place do not use the postcode as it doesn't work and takes you off roading if you follow the street name it really is quite simple and you'll have no issues. We are already looking at rebooking for next year. Thank you for a great stay.

The Hawthorns had everything we needed for a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. The included bonus of a gym, hot tub, steam room and sauna were also great for a rainy evening.

Wanted somewhere to take 4 adults and a child. This was perfect. Lovely converted barn cottage with upside down rooms. Plenty of space and had all we needed for a weeks self catering stay. On arrival we had a loaf of bread, pint of milk, butter, cheese, tea, coffee, sugar and biscuits waiting for us which was great as we arrived really late at night. Having bedrooms downstairs kept them cool and living space upstairs gave us lovely countryside views. There is a sauna, hot tub and gym available to use. Only 10 minutes from Peel and the beach and food outlets. Just right for a full English by the castle. Would highly recommend and will use again.

We had a wonderful stay at The Fushias and The Hawthorns. We were there with family (9 of us) and having two cottages worked really well. The cottages are well equipped and spacious.

We booked as a family group of 13 and were pleasantly surprised to find that we could connect the cottages if we wanted to and walk to each other's cottage via the patio. The gym/hot tub/sauna/steam room were an added bonus and we used them all frequently during our stay. They were continually kept clean. David was a very helpful and friendly host. Access to field next to the cottages was brilliant to enable children to burn off leftover energy at the end of the day!
All three cottages were clean and set up perfectly when we arrived. The location was ideal - very quiet rural area but with easy access to everything via a short drive. The beautiful waterfall at Glen Maye nearby is well worth exploring. Overall, a beautiful, peaceful location with a clean, modern cottage. Could not have asked for more and will definitely recommend to friends to stay here, particularly those with larger families.

Lovely location
This is a lovely complex in a lovely setting. Very handy for getting around the island.
Just a couple of things that would help, there is not enough comfortable seating for six adults, I did querie this before arriving but was told it was fine.
They could also use some oven gloves as there is no handle for the grill pan.
The rest of the house is done to a very high standard, and the beds are very comfortable.

Beautiful Location and facilities.
Overall we were delighted with the facilities and the location, it really does have a wow factor.
The cottage was very lovely, however our retreat guests commented on the stairway needing a bit of a paint to freshen it up.
Also we needed to unzip the king-size bed in the ensuite room as we needed it as a twin beds for our guests, there was a significant amount of dust and fluff, under and between the beds which we needed to hoover and sweep up.
We also found bits of food snacks ( peanuts ) under the sofa cushions!
Unfortuntley there was also a problem with the jacuzzi only working at half capacity which did effect some of the guests wanting to socialise together as we had a booking for all three cottages.
However we would most defiantly book again.

Great place
This three bedroom barn conversion is set in beautiful countryside and is very comfortable. We even enjoyed a dip in the hot tub. The standard of cleanliness was good overall but one of the waste baskets had not been emptied from the previous guests. Only one tea towel was provided, so a few more would be appreciated. Would definitely recommend this property to others.

Everybody very welcoming and very well organised from start to finish. thank you

Wonderful accommodation especially for a large group
We booked all 3 accommodations as we were staying with relatives. It was great to be able to open up the interconnecting doors so that we could use it as one house when needed and close them off when we didn’t. The accommodation was spotless and well equipped. The added bonus of the gym was also great. Would definitely stay again!

Perfect staycation
We stayed at Ballacallin Court over the Christmas break for 5 days and occupied all 3 cottages which was perfect for our family break. As the cottages all have interleading doors, the set-up was absolutely perfect. The cottages are very well equipped, modern and comfortable, the gym & spa facility is an added bonus. The view from the cottages is beautiful and instantly relaxing. The service we receive from Island Escapes as well as the on-site owners was amazing. The little touches such as bread, milk, cheese and butter in the cottage kitchens was really lovely. We had a wonderful time at Ballacallin and I would highly recommend booking a stay there :)

Well equipped with excellent facilities - exceeded expectations. Only problem was with slow hot water supply to wet room and blocked drain. Added bonus was quality of spa and gym area.

A very enjoyable week
After such a long period of restrictions here in the north of England and being prohibited from visiting our daughter, her husband and our grandchildren for 16 months we needed this holiday to be fabulous and it was. The property and the location are beautiful. Our party comprised 4 adults and 2 under 5's and our only slight negative was that as the kitchen and living room were upstairs, we could have done with a safety gate at the top of the wooden staircase. That aside we could hardly fault the place.

Lovely weekend break
We had a great weekend at The Hawthorns. Very homely, lovely views and Island Escapes were on hand with a question we had about some missing supplies which they were able to rectify. Booking in for the spa was simple enough and the facilities there were spot on. The only feedback I would have is that there are a fair few cobwebs around the beams and ceilings that could do with a sweep! Other than that, a brilliant time had all round and would definitely recommend!

Fabulous staycation!
What a wonderful time we had at Ballacallin Court! The properties are beautiful and just perfect for a group of ladies who wanted to 'get away from it all'. Fabulous location, spotless and roomy accommodation - just what we wanted for my 50th celebrations! Highly recommended : )

Beautiful surroundings
Lovely countryside around the accommodation and some beautiful walks to be had.
Whilst the accommodation is nice, it was a shame to see that it was not spotlessly clean- it was obvious that it ha not been hoovered and there were some rooms that were very dusty. A touch up or flaking paint and a good clean would have made it beautiful!!

Superb Stay
This was our second visit as we enjoyed it so much the first time. The location is amazing looking out over the countryside. The apartment has everything we needed and is very comfortable. Having a nice jacuzzi in the morning or evening is just the best. No doubt we'll be back at some point.

A”Peel”ing
We had the opportunity to visit the Isle of Man fro Guernsey due to an airbridge created during the Coronavirus pandemic - this enabled direct travel between the islands. We enjoyed our stay at The Hawthorns. Jane and David were very welcoming. The small spa and gym was a welcome addition - especially as the weather can be iffy. Although “out in the sticks” it was only about 5 minutes drive to Peel. We picked this area as it’s easy to get to Ramsay in the North and Castletown/Port Erin in the South. Hope to visit again sometime.
