the view

it was not neat and it doesn’t have backup systems, the bedrooms need to be cleaned thoroughly and also the kitchen including the outside patio. jacuzzi was not working

Amazing!

The location was perfect! Great view with everything we needed. The jacuzzi was already hot when we arrived. The swimming pool was clean. And the host was friendly and very helpful. Will definitely go back again.

Disappointing

Game drive, beautiful area

Un-operational jacuzzi, rat in the house, ants on the beds and everywhere else. Stained sheets and couches including broken.

Great stay with friends

The location and the apartment. My guys and our girlfriends enjoyed the place to the fullest. The owner was not on site but she attended to our requests as soon as we phoned her. Security personnel were patrolling and checking on us now and then.. Given time and money, we'd definitely go back

The road from the main gate to the property was a bit long and we had to drive slow because the road is small and busy. There were too many ants around the property, but it is expected because it's a mountainous area

Great views and nature all around you. Amazing pool and jacuzzi. Great kitchen and ice machine :)

The location is perfect and private. A bit of a drive to get to the house inside the reserve but excellent for a breakaway weekend with friends and family.

Some of the bedrooms are a little small and the beds are very noisy and too small for two adults. 3 of the 5 rooms are excellent and spacious.

Use chemicals used to remove any scary creatures. We were distracted by the big wild lizard 🦎 that

I thought breakfast was included as I stated it in my booking hence had to be an extra cost which made us unhappy

At least provide tea/coffee/sugar/milk so that visitors can remove the thirst on arrival and morning before going for breakfast

By far the worst experience ever! Book here at your own risk!

The property is spacious, prefect for a braai on the patio. The host was kind enough to share in detail activities to do when we enquired.

We found lots of dirt under the one bed. The linen in the cupboards smelly and stained and just stashed in the cupboard, didn't bother to pack them away neatly. We didn't use this bedroom at all. The linen in general is old and has stains. Some of the furniture was dusty, with spider webs in the living room, implying that the place was not cleaned before we got there. The couch was dusty. The internet was not working throughout our stay. Toilet papers provided were not sufficient. We were disappointed to learn that the house is actually three bedrooms and the other two bedrooms are outside and are also separate rooms. As we were traveling with kids, this was not the ideal setup for us. The light at the carport doesn't work, which really speaks to lack of maintenance of the place. I travel a lot and this is one of the worst hosts by far. We arrived late and she didn't really bother to check up on us, at the least, the next morning .She also neglected to notify us that the restaurant is 6km away from the property, we ended up not making it on time. Loadshedding made the stay even worse, and the emergency lights provided didn't work, except for one. Fortunately we had our own second light. Today is the 29 th of December, we checked out on the 17th and we are yet to receive our breakage deposit back. I had to ask her to make payment and do follow up this morning to which she is now ignoring my whatsapp. This property is not cheap and it's very disappointing that even after the previous bad reviews, no effort has been made to make improve it.

Beautiful spacious home, equipped with everything you will ever need i.e pool, jacuzzi, ice maker,dishwasher, boma etc... Very responsive host😊

An amazing stay for vacation

The place is soooo beautiful and peaceful. It is very clean, the beds are comfortable and clean. Wow I'm definitely recommending it for a group of people.

The nature and location. The view is mind relaxing. I'm definitely booking again with my family. But the Jacuzzi never got hot

The view was very nice. Towels and chocolates on the bed was a very nice gesture.

Lovely place to stay and spacious with great facilities, however, some minor maintenance can be done to make it exceptional. Some shower heads can do with replacement, and some light bulbs are blown leaving some rooms rather dark. Dead / broken plugs left the dishwasher out of service. A selling point is the jacuzzi, however, it does not work properly and doesnt heat up. Can do with a light or two around the outside and boma area and the braai equipment requires replacement.

Superb

It was a beautiful, peaceful place, tastefully decorated and had everything we needed. In the middle of nature with amazing views. I would recommend it to anyone, loved our time there.

The Jacuzzi doesn't warm up. Everything else was fine.

The lodge is beautifully located with stunning views. The unit was eell equipped and functional as well as spaciious. An ideal short getaway..

There were a few power issues due to eskom power outages. Supplying a few solar lanterns for guests for duch issued.

Disgusting!!!!

Absolutely nothing

Swimming pool was horrifically green, jacuzzi didn't warm up, general maintenance not kept up, no clearing of wasps (even though it is the bush, we have stayed at numerous other places and never had this issue) door handles broken, litter everywhere around house. Engagement with owner/manager was appalling

Exceptional

Mabalingwe staff them selfs are rude. Got very lost for 2 hours and the lady at control room was extremely rude when we needed help. But the ownwer of the place was incredible anything we needed that was quick to help.

Started great........

Beautifull views, abundance in wildlife. Reserve facilities at the main entertainment area are fantastic for young families with small children.

Lodge is located in a area that seems to have a lot of private residents staying there permantly. 19:30 the Saturday night security was called by one of the residents to instruct us to put off our music. Security agreed that our music was not loud and acceptable and we dediced to turn down the music but we got a message from the Agent at 21:00 about the music and the noise levels. This put a damper on our holiday as it felt that the property was not tourist friendly for people on holiday wanting to relax at the boma area and enjoy a class of wine with friends. Maybe the fault was on me for not reading all the fine print when booking the holiday. This property would be great for quiet get aways to read a book with no disturbance.

what i didn't like was the fact that we got to the property and the house was not properly clean it had webs and the outside cottage one of the shower handles was dirty.

Bitter dissaappointment. Needs Love and Care

The location and outdoor deck and pool was very nice. The jacuzzi was a nice touch.

The place is in dire need of a good clean and some care. Beddings smelt bad. Dishes not clean. Spider webs everywhere. Very dark. Dishwasher never worked.

A lot of items in the unit was broken. Dirty towels, bad bedroom layout, steep stairs, very unsafe external balustrade for children.

Fabulous stay. Always enjoy staying there.

Location is brilliant. Amenities are excellent. Jacuzzi, swimming pool, braai area, ice machine, view. Good for sunny and rainy weather

Need to start replacing broken glass in the kitchen doors , replace missing cutlery and glasses. Change the plugs for the fans, door on the second fridge, take away the rubbish from the previous guests. need extra dustbins.
