Where does the name of our pension come from? The "Metilstein" is the Eisenacher Hausberg directly opposite the 1000-year-old Wartburg Castle and offers a fantastic panoramic view of the castle, the city, the Hörselberge and the Mariental with the adjoining Drachenschlucht.
"Wherever you go, go with all your heart" (Confucius) - or even with our words: whatever you want to do, do it wholeheartedly - and we will be happy to welcome every guest, our city and ours Want to visit house. Our family-run pension convinces (according to guest opinion) by friendliness, service and the claim, every guest is welcome!
The cultural offer of the city is as rich as hardly anywhere else. The Wartburg World Heritage Site, the Burschenschaftsdenkmal, the Automobile Museum, museums and exhibitions on J. S. Bach, M. Luther, Fritz Reuter, Richard Wagner - natural wonders like the Drachenschlucht, Marienglashöhle or the Hainich National Park with the treetop path - or just the rich hiking opportunities right on our doorstep offer more than can be experienced in some days of vacation.

The location is beautiful and parking is available! The rooms were clean and comfortable.
Instructions to get in were a little confusing but after a phone call we managed it.
This is a bed and breakfast, so we did not expect a kitchen, but although the description said there was dining for 4, there wasn't. We had a sofa and a coffee table. When we travel, we like to eat dinner "at home". There was no place to do that. We ended up going out and buying a coffee maker and left it there. We hope the owner will leave it for future VBRO guests. We would also suggest a mini-fridge. We had a cooler to keep cheese, butter and lunch meats but not everyone has one.
I want to mention that you will have one flight of spiral stairs, which needs to be noted for those with mobility or vision issues.
If you are just staying one night, this would be perfect for you! Breakfast is available for a fee.

Nice place, walking distance to the Wartburg and down town

Beautiful old world location. Rooms were great. Able to walk to town and great restaurants and up to the wartburg. There was little mix up about breakfast included in the price I booked. Breakfast was nice and I didn’t mind paying for it since the 3 bedroom unit was so reasonable.
