About this cabin rental
Our guests return each year to enjoy this clean and cozy home in the mountains. The light filled house boasts tall timber lined ceilings, a beautiful log fire, internal traditional wood oven (perfect for your favourite pizza) and a Finnish sauna to revive you at the end of the day. With 2 bedrooms the house comfortably sleeps 6. The main bedroom has a queen bed with ensuite and walk in robe. The second bedroom has a double bed and bunks. All beds are clean, warm and comfortable - bedding and linen is provided. Walk over the road and fish Lake Eucumbene from the bank or bring your boat and use the boat ramp at the end of the street. Or explore the numerous trout filled streams nearby for that elusive Rainbow or Brown.
Pets are welcome over the warmer months - between October and May. Unfortunately we have had problems in the past with pets being left alone in the house in the winter while people go skiing, and it is too cold for them to be left outside. Please note the garden is not fenced. Mt Selwyn ski resort is a 40min drive away and offers family friendly facilities. If you have hit the slopes and caught a fish you might like to take a drive to the amazing Yarrangabilly Caves. Picnic in this stunning hidden valley, soak up the history of this 100 year old mountain resort and take a dip in the thermal pool. There are several horse riding operators in the area if you feel like the Man from Snowy River experience. Or just relax. The comforts of the house can make it hard to leave the fireside. You may just stay put and enjoy the quality selection of DVDs, books and games. Take a wander on the 5km bush fire trail at the back for lovely views of the area. At the end of the day supervise the BBQ from the deck and watch the sun set over the mountains in the company of the friendly local wildlife. Coffee and the paper can be found just a 15 minute drive away at the Adaminaby bakery where you will find cream buns, curry pies, coffee and lovely fresh bread, there is also an IGA, the pub 'the Snowgoose', the bowling club and takeaway for meals and supplies.

We arrived with fresh snow everywhere. House was super cosy and well equipped for our family and ski adventures.
This was our second stay at the house and had a memorable experience both times. Great pizza oven, lovely sauna and brilliant fireplace that makes it a wonderful place to rest after days skiing at Selwyn.
Will be back again!

Had a lovely stay in this cosy cabin, fire was on and toasty warm on arrival. Had everything we needed and could ask for. Kids loved the games, the kangaroos and lyre bird and playing in the bush. The fire kept us cosy and the pizza oven was a hit for dinner. Was a lovely place to rest between snow days. Honestly felt like home.

We had a wonderful time here. It's in a great location, clean and with everything we needed. Sauna was great after skiing. The host is lovely and made the whole process very easy for us. The house was surrounded by wildlife and it even snowed one night. We'll definitely be back.

House was warm and comfortable. Young people enjoyed seeing kangaroos around the property. Very quiet location and loved the area which I will now come back to in summer to explore.

Dear Alex,
It was so lovely to arrive late on Friday night and find the house toasty warm from the pre lit fire. Such a nice touch. Thank you.
We loved our short stay. It was everything we hoped for in a little ski holiday with the kids. The house is well equiped, and we especially loved the finish sauna sessions after a day in the bush.
Thank you
Nick

Very clean house well maintained. Fire wood was ready to go in the fireplace. Tv worked well and showers are clean.

House was comfortable and fireplace kept it warm and cozy. Great supply of firewood. Pizza oven worked well and sauna was perfect end to a day trekking. Kitchen had all the dinnerware, utensils and pans needed. Very well stocked. Good fishing at the lake.

We stayed at the Finnish Cottage as we wanted to visit the Snowy Mountains in autumn- it was a great place to have as a base. Loved the sauna and fireplace and the locality.
4.8
Great location. Fantastic pizza oven. We have stayed here before so we came prepared. Cooked pizza, slow cooked brisket, crispy, skin pork, pumpkin soup. The sauna was great. Love this place.

Lovely home with character. Super convenient with two bathrooms and loved the spa, now I want one at home! Will definitely come back next time we want a group stay for fishing in the area.

We arrived just after sunset. The last 100 meters to the house we were welcomed by many grey Kangaroos and some wallabies. Every morning and evening they came in our back- and frontyard.
We loved this Finnish house and it's sauna. In the evening sitting on the deck gazing at the stars and sipping some wine of playing a game inside the house.
Lot to explore in the area. My children, who live in Australia are allredy making plans to come back some day. And maybe I will too. Thank you Alex for letting us stay in your beautiful home.

This 2BR retro cottage has lots of room and all the amenities you need. The sauna was an added bonus after a busy day of walking in the Snowy Mountains. Thanks :)

We loved the coziness of the house, the quiet and a little remote location yet accessible to conveniences. It gave us the solitude that is much needed in busy life which connects our family better. We enjoyed the sunsets, the lake, watching the Milky Way, the curious kangaroos, and of course the Finnishness of the house. Other than the kangaroos, it felt similar to our experience staying in Lapland.

Our stay at the Finnish cabin was very comfortable. We enjoyed the beautiful wood fire, forest outlook, learning about the local history and visiting some of the amazing Yarrongabily caves.

This was our second stay and it was just as good as the first. We loved the sauna and made great use of the pizza oven, which is such fun to use. We've already booked in for next year.

Once again we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cabin. We enjoyed fishing in the lake, and it was an easy drive to Perisher to see the snow.
This is by far my favourite accommodation in the region and we can’t wait to go back again. Thanks Alex!

This place is at a great location and offers lots of benefits for a winter ski trip that all fully function such as the fire, sauna and pizza oven - which our whole family enjoyed. The house is spacious but cosy for our family, comfortably fitting a family of 5.

The house was perfect for our group. Loved the Sauna and the fire place. Check in was easy. Plenty of kitchen equipment which alot of places don't have. I'd certainly stay there again

Very good home nice and clean.

Lovely house with ample room and lots of natural light. We stayed in winter, and the fire had been lit before we arrived so the entire house was toasty warm.
The bathrooms look newly renovated and are super clean. The kitchen has everything we needed and it was clean and well organised.
The beds even had flannelette sheets making them toasty, and there are plenty of spare blankets in the cupboard should you need them (we didn't).
I would definitely stay here again.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at this incredible property through Stayz, and I must say, it was an absolute delight!
First and foremost, the location is absolutely stunning. Nestled amidst nature's embrace, this hidden gem offers a serene and peaceful retreat short drives away from the snowy mountains. The breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains from the lake were gorgeous.
The property itself was immaculate and beautifully designed, showcasing a perfect blend of comfort and style with a country cottage feel. Every aspect of the space exuded warmth, making us feel right at home.
My only criticism would be that the stove was a little temperamental and the WiFi was unfortunately not working (which actually made the kids find other ways to entertain themselves and even explore the natural surroundings of the property 😊)
Thank you to the hosts for making out stay comfortable and providing beautiful and clean home to embrace us from the wintery cold

We really enjoyed our stay. The fire was so warm and Alex supplied plenty wood and logs. The pizza/sauna looked great, sadly we didn’t have time to try them. The only complaint is that the cleanliness could be slightly improved (perhaps some of the dishes and blankets). Alex is a wonderful host, answered all of our nagging questions and gave some super helpful tips about skiing at Selwyn!

We had such a great time. The cabin was lovely and warm and roomy for all of us. A great location for Selwyn.

Over all loved the place. The only down side we had was, we were hoping it would have snowed well we were there. the day we left it snow.
4.8
We had an enjoyable stay for our ski trip away from the crowds. Anglers reach is a quiet village and we woke up to some snow on the morning we checked out.
The house had everything we needed for our trip and we absolutley loved the sauna.

We normally rent cabins at the park down the road. For similar money you get much more space with this property. It was perfect for the four of us, plenty of room.
The home was very clean and well presented. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We will book again

This is one of the most comfortable and best trip I had this year, and one of the best sleeps I have ever had in my life. I stayed in good hotels before, but it was the coziness of this place, comfortable beds, and warmth in winter that brought our experience to the next level. Everything we needed in our stay was here. The only issue we had was the proximity of this place from snow resorts. It would've been perfect if Mt. Selwyn was open. Given the chance, we'll stay again.
4.8
We had a lovely relaxing time in front of the fire. Playing games and reading books.

This lovely cottage instantly makes you feel 'at home'.
One bedroom had an ensuite queen size bed, extremely comfortable.
Bedroom two Bunk beds and a QS bed (Also very comfortable), great selection of pillows.
Sauna, laundry, second bathroom, pizza oven, lounge with slow combustion fire with plenty of pre cut wood, well equipped kitchen.
Just need to bring your own sheets, towels and food.
We will definitely rebook.

Great location for those who like to fish off the bank, also close to shops and the portal.
