We visited in August with extended family, aged 10 to 70 and the house accommodated everyone and their varying interests very well. The house is well appointed, everything works, and the owner and property manager are very responsive. The location is amazing, and the outdoor areas set up very nice. It’s a hike to the ocean, but the bikes and carts at the house really help. Great House!

Setting was very relaxing. All age groups enjoyed activities on premises. My son-in-law taught younger generation to fish off the deck and managed to catch some fish. Well-equipped kitchen for the cooks in my family.

Pictures do not do this house justice. Gorgeous Amazing views from every room. Everything was completely thought out. Furniture was amazing! All of the rooms were decorated perfectly. Family of 12 adults and PLENTY of space. Such a beautiful relaxing place to spend time with your family.

Our family, ages 71 to 2 had a wonderful time! The porches and outdoor spaces allowed us to take in the amazing views at One in a Million. We spent most of our days outside enjoying the pool, kayaks and exploring the shoreline. The property felt very private, but restaurants and stores were a short drive away. The kitchens had everything we needed and everyone slept well in the comfortable beds. We'd love to rent again in the future.

Our week was wonderful. One in a Million certainly lived up to its name. The location on Emerald Isle is perfect. So much room and beautifully decorated. The fishing, kayaks, bikes and beach chairs were all great. Met the property manager, Drew (great guy). He grew up near our hometown. Our best family beach vacation ever!!Thank you. !

This property is spectacular! Great amenities (Pool, Hot Tub, high-end appliances etc.). Each of the 6 bedrooms has its own bathroom which was REALLY great for our family vacation. Great communication with the property owners. A+++

Exactly as advertised. Exceptional house, landscape, amenities. We expected a great facility upon viewing the advertised picture and descriptions. But sometimes pictures can be deceiving , but not in this case.
It truly exceeded the families expectations it to many ways to enumerate. We had 1 issue during the stay but the property manager and owners were amazingly easy to contact and responded immediately. You will not go wrong in choosing this unit, and it will provide a lifetime of memories for your family.

The Point was the perfect house for our family, including our three daughters, three son-in-laws and four grandkids ages 3-9, to come from both coasts to celebrate our 50 years of marriage. The pool was a huge hit, the view is amazing, the setting couldn't be better, and the house fit us perfectly. We saw dolphins swimming and feeding out front, we frolicked in the ocean and played in the sand, we kayaked, and had a great week of family fun! And oh, the swings...and the sunsets...and so much more! Just an amazing place to vacation!

Family Vacation
We had a great time staying at this beautiful house. The property manager provided great support and this house had many amenities available, from Kayaking to biking, pool, spa, ping pong, shooting pool, poker and blackjack table, chess, shuffleboard. Our kids and grandkids always had something to do. Many flat screen TVs throughout the house and the whole house Sonos sound system was great. Two kitchens and a large ice maker too! Thank you so much to the owner for allowing us to rent this house for or family dream vacation. Kevin and DeAnn

Wonderful house on Emerald Isle NC
This house was the best VRBO we have ever stayed at for a family vacation with well stocked kitchen(s), large comfortable bedrooms, big upper and lower decks with pool, deck chairs , swings, and very clean. The beach toys and bikes were a real treat as well within an easy walking distance to beach and nice bike trail. We had a few glitches that were remedied quickly by the owner and property manager including a broken gas grill that was replaced within two hours after our call on a Sunday afternoon! Next trip to Emerald Isle will be booked at 116 Bogue.

Beautiful location and space
This space worked very well for us - three families with kids plus grandma. The location is stunning and the house layout was spacious and perfect for us. Beautiful views, nice heated pool, hot tub, and gorgeous not crowded beach make this truly One in a Million!

2nd consecutive year
Overall it was very good---fits our family great.
Porch room was very dirty---probably because it is exposed to the outside but the cleaning crew could have done better.
Bikes and kayaks are a great addition but you still need to get the grill situation improved. We expect to be back next year.

Best view in Emerald Isle
The house was fantastic. My family has been coming to EI for 37 years. They would normally stay in a condo, but the last few years we have been trying houses. This one was the nicest we have stayed at. Everything is upper end, not the typical rental stuff. I was worried we would miss the sound and view of the ocean as we normally stay right on the ocean. We quickly realized we enjoyed this view even more. With three little kids and grandparents along on the trip, the location pushed us into getting a beach permit for the truck. We found doing it this way was even better that dragging all the beach stuff down from an ocean side house. The view from the top floor sitting area is just incredible, I could sit there all day. It is the amenities that take it over the top. It was so nice to have the kayaks, bikes, all the beach stuff. I only had to speak to the property manager once. I sent him a text and he called me instantly. I could not be happier with him or the owners. Everything went as smooth as could be.

A slice of heaven
This is one of the most beautiful properties we have stayed at. The panoramic views were better than expected. The short walk to the point was another treat. Except for the 1st floor AC malfunctioning for half the week affecting the cooling of all of 2nd floor and main floor master bedroom, we fully enjoyed our blended family getaway.

Beautiful home
Easily the most beautiful property my friends and I have stayed in for a beach trip. Modern feel, clean, plenty of space, fully stocked with everything that makes a beach trip great. Highly recommend.

Beachtastic
The property was breathtaking. Max relaxation obtained. The pool was perfect, the hot tub was a nice option, the family room was perfect but definitely a great amount of space in the house to separate from the pact if desired. Be prepared with bug spray, staying on the marsh brought a swarm of gnats wherever we went.

Magnificent home on the bay
The men folk and the kids loved the accessibility to fishing. We all thought the actual ocean was too far from the beach entrance. My husband could only go down one day and and that is being dropped off right at the beach entrance not walking from the house. I went down far less than I would have liked. The adults in their 40s and the four kids also thought it was a bit too far to the ocean.
The fact that the beach was not crowded was a plus. Never thought about lifeguards but it’s always nice to have him around.
Seeing large palmetto bugs and small roach like creatures was a little nerve-racking. I called Drew and he stopped by and added more traps… We did continue to see bugs.
The previous tenant left coffee stand and a dirty used Covid Mask on the side table in the first floor master bedroom and sticky candy marks on the dresser. This kind of surprised me considering the extra cleaning that I expected due to Covid. They also left wrappers from joints on the back porch. Good thing one of the adults spotted this rather than one of the kids. I did show text to Drew.
The first time we used toilet paper in the first floor master bath part of the fixture came out of the wall. I just left it right there on the floor. It was easy enough to use and I didn’t want to call Drew back for another visit.
Drew is a great on-site manager was very attentive to any concerns.
We would have liked to have been able to use the outside lighting near the fire pit and down at the pier but it wasn’t working. We did let Drew know and hopefully an electrician will have fixed it for a future tenant.
I have been doing VBRO rentals for probably 35 years and you’re homeless definitely the nicest we have ever been in. Thank you for making it available for rentals. The decorating was exquisite!

We’ll be back!
The Pointe has everything you need for an amazing stay. Marty (owner) and Drew (property manager) were quick to respond to our needs. We went in late March so the heated pool was key and enjoyed by all. The sunset viewing from the back deck was amazing! We utilized the beach cruisers every day and when one had a flat Drew was there within an hour to fix it. I would absolutely recommend The Pointe and would stay there any time of year. We will definitely be returning!

Truly One in a Million
This home is absolutely beautiful and was perfect for our group (four kids and seven adults). Gorgeous views and sunsets, wonderful pool and dock area, great kayaking, and plenty of room and decks to spread out and relax. We loved Emerald Isle, and we loved this house. We will definitely be back!

Great week!
This was our 3rd family vacation to I in a Million Emerald Isle. It is the perfect place for our family. The swing beckons the readers. The dock beckons the fisherman in our family. We had little ones with us this time and the walk to the beach and playing in the tidal pool was entertainment for us all! As was the pool. The table fit all of us nicely for family dinners . We’ve had 15 in the past. This year was 12. We plan to return for a 4th visit in the future!

A view like no other
Ideal location - close to the Point public access / fishing from the private dock (if boaters do not impede/intrude)
Nice pool and a hot tub off the master bed room.
The home is grand yet inviting.
The grounds are simply gorgeous.
A bit pricy considering the things in need of repair/upgrading.
Each bedroom has a tv although dated.
Folks with limited mobility may find it difficult to
navigate the steps (no elevator).
A few of the mini blinds were torn.
There is a nice game room area that includes an air hockey table. The table has tape hold pieces and parts together.
The master bed room on the main level is spacious / with a very nice bathroom which includes an oversized shower. The dual shower heads would be marvelous - if they all functioned properly.
Note : I did not voice my petty findings upon arrival or at departure. The owner seems to be a true gentleman and graciously shares this home.
I felt at home during my three week stay. Leaving was bitter sweet. I hope to return again.

Perfect family getaway!
Our family absolutely loved this property. Marty and Mike were a pleasure to work with. The location of this home is perfect for the beach, swimming, gorgeous views and access to stores and restaurants. Plently of room for 4 families with children. No one was disappointed and we hope to be able to return. The dolphins right off the dock in the backyard was a huge bonus. Marty, thank you for sharing your beautiful home!

Beautiful home!
We would highly recommend this home. The house was beautiful and the view even better! Our group consisted of 10 adults, 2 teens, a preschooler and 2 babies. The home was comfortable for all of us and met all of our needs. The kitchen was well equipped which made meal preparation easy. We really enjoyed the outside area including the pool, hot tub, porch swing, decks, fire pit and dock. We even saw Dolphins swimming just feet from the dock. The propery manager quickly responded to a minor issue. Everyone agreed that they would like to stay here again.

Awesome!
This was our second time vacationing in EI and this time we decided to find a bigger house with a few more amenities. This house did not disappoint. There were 12 of us, 7 of whom were kids and we had plenty of room. The kitchen is lovely and really the center point of activity within the house. The dedicated icemaker was genius and was put to good use for our cold drinks. The views are exceptional and you feel somewhat secluded which is nice.
A few of the negatives: The main bathroom is expansive but needs an update. The hot tub cover was in shambles and needed replacement and the furniture on the deck was in poor shape. The BBQ seemed to be on it's last legs. For a house of this grandeur, it needs a good solid BBQ.
The negatives were minor. The positives of the house and location easily outweigh these small issues.
So many activities from using the bikes to kayaking on the sound. We fished off the doc every day and the doc also had a sea doo lift which we used for our own sea doo which we brought!
The owner was responsive and helpful and really made the experience great.

Everyone's first words:
This was our 18th time vacationing in Emerald Isle, but our first time in One In A Million. Everyone in our party said the same thing as they came into the house: "Oh my god. Oh My God!" We've stayed a lot of places, and this was the nicest, best appointed, best view house on the island. Being near the inlet was wonderful, and we were visited by a pod of porpoises early one morning. Being able to choose from ocean, sound, or pool was fabulous. We watched a thunderstorm move across the inlet from Jacksonville, marveled at the noisy birds in the martin house, and loves seeing the fishermen headed out to sea each morning. Our group was 11 members from 3 generations of our family, and everyone enjoyed their accommodations. The kitchen was as well fitted out as our home, and the porch, gazebo, decks, and dock made for lots of places to play, read, relax, and be together. One great house!

a little slice of heaven
What a beautiful place to vacation. We have vacationed in Emerald Isle for over 25 years and this was our best year yet. This house is perfect for multiple families vacationing together. It offers such a variety of things to do, that we hardly had to leave the house at all. We spent hours fishing off the dock, kayaking, and exploring the sound. The view is incredible. The amount of wildlife right out the back door is amazing. We saw a manatee, dolphins, lots of fish, hermit crabs, snails...we didn't even do our annual trip to the aquarium because it was all right at the house. It's a bit of a hike to the beach, but well worth it. It feels like you're the only people on the beach. I highly recommend One In A Million. I can't wait to come back next year! Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Fantastic Property for Family Vacation!!!
Our family - ranging in age from 18 months to 89 yrs old - could not have enjoyed our week any more. We have vacationed on pretty much the entire North Carolina coast --- this was, by far, the best location and vacation yet. The house is fantastic with everything you need and plenty of room to spread out. The location provides so much to do: swimming in the pool, fishing, boating, jumping off the dock, paddle board, kayaks, biking, floating out to the island and the sand bars, heading over the beach and ocean --- AWESOME. The views are stunning - the sunsets even better. Mr. Baum was a pleasure to work with and obviously takes great pride in keeping his piece of paradise in great condition for many to enjoy. We WILL be back next year.
The only problem we had the entire week... was leaving.
Marty - thanks for allowing us to disappear from it all at your home for a week!!!

One in a MIllion
We loved our stay at One in a Million and hope we can make it back again next year. If things work out we would love to stay two weeks. The home, inside and out, had all the comfort and charm that anyone would want. The pool and scenery can not be beat and the sunsets are as spectacular as the ones at Key West. Mr. Baum provided the use of personal kayaks, bikes, beach chairs as well as lounging chairs and other accessories around and in the pool. Even though the beach was within easy walking distance we visited it once and the rest of the time we spent at the vacation home swimming in the pool, floating on rafts out in the enclosed water of Bogue Sound and kayaking. I can not express enough the beauty of the home inside and out. The ten of us, ages 16 to 75, felt an inner peace and calmness just sitting quietly and looking out at the beauty of the area. We all agreed One in a Million was the best home we have leased in all the years we have visited Emerald Isle. For children there are plenty of little water critters to see and early one morning three dolphins were observed in the water right in front of the home going back toward Bogue Sound. We had an amazing vacation and loved every minute of it. A big thank you to Mr. Baum for helping my family and me make precious memories. Sue Casterline Beavercreek, Ohio

Truly One in a Million!
Spending weekends in Emerald Isle for 20+ years I know the area and this is by far the best location on the island. You have the best of everything here. The ocean, the sound, the pool and the most unobstructed view of the sunset on the island. The house is spectacular. The manager and the owner are wonderful and keep a very "tight ship". I didn't have to contact them for anything other than to tell them thank you for a perfect week and that I left something in the house which they promptly fed ex'd out to me the same day. The house comfortably sleeps the maximum # of guests. Everyone has their own bed and each bedroom it's own bath. My guests were very impressed and can't wait to return. We were here for my son's wedding so we were busy but the next time I come I never plan to leave the house! It is absolutely one in a million!

We love this place!
This was our second summer vacation at this fabulous home. It is clean, the layout is perfect, the owners provided great prompt service and the pool was perfect. Eight grandchildren, four grown children, their spouses and us are so happy that we found this place. I always tell all my friends about this home. The lagoon and ocean as well as the pool were perfect environments where lasting memories were made.

Amazing Views
We spent a week with my wife's family in July. 8 adults and 6 kids ranging in age from 11 to 17. We coud not have asked for more. I had high expectations of this house and from the minute we arrived, our expectations were exceeded! The dock and kayaks were in constant use. Fishing, crabbing, jumping off the dock to swim in the bay. The kids were in constant motion. The beach was a short walk away, huge, and practically deserted. The kitchen was used extensively (a second dishwasher would have been nice). The bedrooms were perfect for the extended family (no sharing between families). The pool was also a welcome addition, great to cool off after a hot day. My Father-in-Law discovered clams on the little island across the bay and we had fresh steamed clams for lunch. Oh, and the swing on the deck was enjoyable. My Mother-in-Law and I competed for the spot daily to read and admire the views of the cean, bay, and beyond. We had several family vacations in the Outer Banks (Duck, Corolla, Pine Island, etc) in earlier years, and decided to try Emerald Island this time. We were extremely happy with our decision. We ave already started talking about a return to "One in a Million" in 2015!
