Everyone from our side of the My wife and I the bride and groom, her sister, a Neice, and the maid of honor were at this location. Some more of my wife's family stayed at another house. We rented pontoon boats the first day, went to the rehearsal, then had the rehearsal dinner at the club house. Wedding the next day and reception, afterward some of the family came over till about 10 PM. Breakfast at the grooms brothers house the next morning, came back took a nap then went to the lake and rented paddle boats, paddle boards and soaked up some sun. Fun was had by all

We rented two house close together for our yearly gathering. It was great being able to walk down to the beach club (although the path was a bit tricky for younger family members). The house was well appointed. we had our evening meals here because of the abundant seating. the kids loved the games on the lower level. Great time was had by all!

Gathered with our teens, college age, and adult children (and 2 grandchildren) for an awesome “just be together” weekend. It was a blessing to all be under one roof. The house was awesome and comfortable for all ages & phases of life of our large family.

Such a beautiful location, loved that this home backs up to the lake and you wake up to the awesome view. The parking is great you can fit up to 4 cars. We stayed there because it is only 20 minutes to the Tate house and accommodates 13 people, very comfortably. Lots of games very good for keeping all entertained. Love the nature trails and the fishing. We will stay in Big Canoe again.

Stayed at The Roost with family for our son's wedding. Big Canoe is a beautiful (and very hilly) community with numerous amenities. The house is located at the end of a street with a steep, short drive to the parking area (slippery when wet) and offers good views of the lake and beach area. The check in process was seamless and the owner provided informative and timely communication. The house was very efficient and well appointed; however, the property does show some signs of wear. The bedrooms and loft area provided a good selection of sleeping arrangements for our family, who ranged in ages from 23 to 86. We thoroughly enjoyed coming back to the house at the end of each day and relaxing around the fireplace.

This home has a wonderful blend of lake house feel with a cozy mountain cabin vibe. The game room is an extra bonus and gives everyone plenty of options no matter what your group wants to do! It was great Spring weather while we were there with temps in the 60's so we hiked a different trail every morning and relaxed on the deck in the evening around the fire pit. The house is well appointed and nicely decorated with everything you could possibly want including comfortable linens, all the cookware you need and plenty of thoughtful touches. Inside Big Canoe, it is very convenient to tennis, the beach area and lots of trails. We would highly recommend and look forward to staying here again!
