The host was so friendly and helpful. Location was excellent almost half way along the cycle route to Imbari. Clean and basic accommodation. The extras were welcome - toiletries, honour bar in kitchen, outdoor lounge area.
Floor mat for sleeping was very thin compared to other accommodations we have stayed in.

The staff member that welcomed us was very kind and helpful. The location is picturesque, the facilities were lovely and all was very clean. Good shared kitchen social space too. I loved that there was thoughtfulness and care from management around waste/recycling. Also there was an excellent public bathhouse nearby and lots of good places to eat/hire bikes and close to a great beach (Sunset beach)
Can’t complain!

Lots of space, very kind staff, clean, and close the Kousanji temple and amenities. I will come back!

amazing location. friendly staff. love the tatami/futon sleeping with a beautiful view of the water. shared bathroom very clean. cute shared eating/outdoor area beautiful in the morning sun. would definitely stay again.
nothing!

Because it took a while to find the parking lot, the time limit for check-in (19:00) has passed when I arrived, but the owner is very kind and exempted the penalty for the late check-in. Thank you so much.
A bit hard to find the parking lot, especially in the dark of night.

The hostel has everything you need and more. Attention to detail, clean and comfortable. The owner was lovely too
thin walls so if you have noisy neighbours (we did) then you will need ear plugs

comfy beds, free hot drinks, large warm room. friendly staff. this was our half point and stayed overnight when doing shimanami kaido .
nothing

Feels like a newly refurbished place. Management is based on trust for guests to pay in "piggybank" whenever you consume drinks in rooms or use the laundry services. Bottled drinking water in the room is not FOC.
A room with no view. We have no idea and were surprised to open the window facing a high wall within 3 feet away. There is a covered airwell for lighting, but it's noisy when it drizzled or rains. Plan to stay in Nest, must request for seaview room. Plan to consume food at their cafe, please check for availability. It was booked for private function when we checked in.

The highlight of our stay was dinner in the “lounge area” at the back of the guesthouse, which is also a restaurant accessible to non-guests.
The chef helped us translate the menu and was really friendly. We had a few small bites and then some homemade soba, and everything was good quality and really tasty. Very fine dining, recommended !
Guest house was good but not amazing, less appealling than the photos make it seem. Our room was small and wasn’t very sound- nor light-proof, but we slept well.

Nice position, nice service, nice and patient staff, almost nice everything and recommended to live in!

great location, with amazing view of the port, good sized rooms with amenities, clean and with modern refurb, good communal spaces!
whilst the locking system on the door was brilliant, the doors themselves were very light, and banged open/closed noisily, despite attempts to not disturb. maybe refurbish/upgrade the interior doors ?

Very good location. Clean and friendly staff.

The staff was super nice. The person who greeted us and showed us around the property/facilities was helpful and kind.

Great location right on the waterfront and near the ferry landing, numerous restaurants nearby (both daytime and some nightlife), and some local attractions. Everything was very clean and well-maintained. Outdoor space was nice. I didn't eat at the hotel's cafe because I had other plans, but the food looked good and the price was reasonable.
I stayed here while biking the Shimanami Kaido bike route between Onomichi and Imabari, and I can recommend this place as a good midway point if you are doing the route over 2 days, or as a good 1st night if you are doing it over 3 days. They have a bike rack out front, which was enough for me, but they might allow you to bring your bike to the outdoor area (inside the hotel) if you want a bit more security (this is just a suggestion from me, I did not ask the hotel, and cannot make any assurance that they would).
There was nothing I didn't like, everything was great for me. One thing to note, my room did not have a bed, but instead used futons (pads and sheets on the floor), which I found comfortable, but some people may find futons to be too firm. Although it is written in the room description, most rooms do not have a private bathroom or shower, although the shared bathrooms and showers that I used were all very clean.

The room was complete and overlooked the pier. Strangely enough, there was also a Dyson fan (juxtaposed against the futon in the tatami room) which I thought was a nice and interesting touch. The adjourning lounge serves the best soba I've ever had in my three years in Japan.
Nothing really. The hostel itself, while recently renovated, is housed in a rather worn building. I perceived that as part of the charm in living in one of the islands along the Seto Inland Sea however.

One of the nicest hostels I’ve ever stayed in! Newly renovated. The rooms were like hotel rooms. Lovely lounge and patio area, beautiful view from
the roof too. Highly recommend for any group doing the shimanami kaido.
4.3
front view of the ocean with a wonderfully quaint and charming island atmosphere. the accommodations were very comfortable and spacious. the staff was absolutely lovely and friendly. the little bar at the back was a great place to end the night. overall a great place.
4.3
the host is super friendly and helpful. he arranged for out luggage to be transfered to our next stop via his friend running a different hotel nearby
4.3
Family friendly and very helpful staff with excellent English skills. Great location in a quiet neighborhood on a cosy island along the Shimanami Kaido route.
We didn’t like the auto-lock system of the doors. It’s beeping all the time (especially if you leave the door open for longer) and a bit complicated for small children. There were no curtains, so it got bright in the room early in the morning. The skylight (roof window) - although architecturally nice - contributed to the early morning brightness. Hence we all woke up too early.

Awesome staff, great location, great view, great value.
Door locks were really noisy and a bit annoying.
4.3
The owner was quite friendly!

The staff of the hostel were really accomodating, friendly and helpful to our needs, even when we had some trouble getting to the location. The reminders posted throughout the hotel to keep quiet at night, and to also observe safety measures were reassuring. There were feminine products that were available in all the bathrooms.
If the guests don't observe the noise policy at night, the walls are quite thin and you can hear other people's conversations. It might not be the most accessible since there are a lot of stairs.
4.3
The staff was very nice! There was a nice hand-drawn map of nearby places to eat and visit

We only stayed one night, but the owner was very helpful and we had a great night's sleep!
