The main person who made our stay wonderful was a particular member of staff.
He welcomed us,checked us in,served our evening meal all with grace and a wonderful smile and positive attitude.
I tried to ring head office in Bradford-upon-Avon to give feedback on departure day but sadly wasn’t able to speak to anyone and after leaving my phone number nobody has yet replied.
This member of staff, whose name I didn’t get,is truly a valuable asset to your company and I hope he receives recognition for his amazing attitude to customers.

Location
Price of breakfast and items put on our room by other guests as there is no checks made.

breakfast wasnt included - which was very poor considering how much the room was
the room was a street view 1st floor - directly below the window were pub tables which were extremely noisy late in the evening - not with punters but staff sitting outside chatting etc
there was also the kitchen located out the front which had an extremely noisy extractor/generator going all day from 8.00am to 23.00 every day making it impossible to open the window which was difficult as the weather was extremely hot & muggy
after every flush of the toilet there was a dirty/rusty brown residue deposited which was unpleasant
the shower room was ridiculously small - could'nt wash your face in the sink as the overhead mirror and shelf obstructed your access
the shower cubicle was the smallest I have ever come across and was a real effort to try to maneouvre and shower with great difficulty

Location was very good.
Bed was comfy.
Did not stay for breakfast so can’t comment.
Shower we did not like - not enough room to move in it & we didn’t like the overhead shower head.Needs an alternative type of shower head.
Evening meal was disappointing - menu choices were for us.We went with Haddock & chips & mushy peas thinking being cooked in the Catch fish shop attached that also does takeaway it would be good. However must say we have had much better fish & chip meals.

The attitude of the manager of the hotel was disgusting.
He gave us the wrong front door key which resulted in us being unable to get in when we returned to the hotel at 11.15pm. We tried to get access by hammering on the door for at least an hour, no one responded despite staff residing at the hotel. The police were unable to contact a key holder which resulted in us having to sit in our vehicle all night. The temperature was 4 degrees, my husband is diabetic and needed medication and we had nothing to drink.
The manager didn’t contact us, we had to find him, he did refund us but did not apologise and gave no explanation of why it had happened or why no one had answered the emergency contact number. Given his lack of concern I have no doubt this could happen again.
Other staff were more sympathetic, the assistant manager was very courteous and listened to our complaint with empathy.
Needles to say our weekend was ruined, we were exhausted and had to cancel other activities we had planned due to tiredness and upset.
The restaurant staff try very hard but all we heard was their apologies when items were missing, food was cold, drinks didn’t arrive etc. it seemed every table had a problem.
Room 9 gets a lot of noise from a ventilation unit above the fish restaurant which starts at 7am. Although the bed is comfortable it’s a very small room and you can’t open the window due to the noise.

Enjoyed a very comfortable stay here for a few days on a work related trip. The Ship is located directly overlooking the beach with great views, plenty of parking space and fairly easy beach access down a short set of steps.
I had a pleasant room without a sea view but nevertheless spotless, comfortable and quiet - the en-suite was particularly spacious. The food was excellent with a choice of dining in the restaurant or, as I preferred, in the bar where there is also a good selection of real ales. The staff were reasonably friendly if a little functional at times.
The only minor downside was that breakfast wasn't served until 9:00 which was too late for me - on the one occasion I was able to try it I thought it a bit overpriced at £12.50.
Have sampled various establishments in the area but will probably opt to stay here again next time.

Lovely comfortable bed . Nicely decorated .
Quite expensive for a one night stay

Lovely view from room ,staff very helpful and friendly, the food great and atmosphere was good and busy with lots of walkers strolling with dogs along the sandy beach .
The only one thing I would say is its a shame the breakfast wasn't included in the price of the room as paying top end prices

the rooms were very well designed and decorated
breakfast wasn’t until 9am

Cannot fault this place. Location next to the beach (100 yards) although fairly steep steps down but not many. Rooms are high quality, large and bathroom is excellent. The Pub has a chip shop bolt on which you can takeaway or order in the restaurant, high quality food. I took my dog and the Ship couldn't have been more accommodating. Theres a local corner shop and Chinese restaurant. Youre about 8-10 minutes drive from Overstrand and Cromer.
If i was to be fussy then the meal portion in the restaurant could have been bigger, although I do eat a lot.

I honestly cannot fault the place at all.
