We enjoyed staying here and found everything to be as pictured. The house is clean and comfortable. We only had a few issues…trying to open and close the slider door. It is a bear to use! Also, the pool screen had a rip so the mosquitoes were quite bad the first night but management was quick to get it fixed so that the rest of the stay was much better. Some reviews mentioned the airplane traffic - we did not notice this or did not find this to be a problem. For the price this place can’t be beat. The location was central to a lot of places we were going to.

The house is very clean and has everything you need for your stay. It is perfect for 5 to 6 adults, Michelle the property manager is knowledgeable about the area. Then it is so great that the backyard is covered so you can hang out by the pool without the bugs. They have everything you need for a day at the beach.

We were there for 40 days, everything was really nice.
Michelle met us when we checked in, and explained everything to us.
We didn’t know that we were over a flight pattern from a private airport, so that got kind of loud.
We did have a problem with the pool, but Robert the owner was great and tried to help with the situation.
When we booked the house, we didn’t know it was very far everything, but we dealt with the situation.
Overall, the villa was very nice , and we had a great time.
The kitchen was well stocked with all the items needed.

This is our second year staying at Villa I. We love how close it is to everything-beaches,shopping, restaurants, Shamrock park to walk along the waterway and more. The house was so clean- and provides everything you could possibly need in the kitchen. The bath and beach towels and other extras (beach chairs, umbrellas, pool toys and more). Gerty and Michelle are super responsive hosts if you need to reach out to them. We are returning for another 2 weeks next year, which will be our third stay- this time at Villa II which is across the street, as the dates we needed were available there. Thank you Gerty and Michelle- see you next February!

This rental is exactly as described! Very tastefully decorated with tons of amenities. The well stocked kitchen included everything from dishes to silverware for entertaining our family and friends. The pool area is set up perfectly! We enjoyed relaxing and swimming everyday. Working with Michelle was such a pleasure and Gerty is a delight! We would recommend this gem for a couple or small family and wish we could have stayed longer!

Our Fla visit was not a vacation this trip, but this wonderful house made our tasks much easier to bear.
You see we lost our mother on Christmas and had to come down to sort out her affairs.
At the end of each day we had a wonderful place to come and destress each day.
The home is very cute, super comfortable (the beds were very comfy - I'm not easy to please & the linens & towels were lux too) and provides everything you need to enjoy your stay (we didnt use any of the toys, beach/picnic nor bbq items, nor the bikes but they are All there).
Had this been a "normal" visit this house would have become our regular stay.
I can't say enough about how great the owner and manager are - super easy to work with, check in/out were easy peasy, they are extra accommodating, felt like we were in great hands all the way through our stay.
P.S. the pool & hot tub were totally awesome!

Great house...pictures don't do the decorating justice, it's very well done! Great pool and hot tub - we used it daily!! I didn't realize the street was a busy one, but that's my fault for not checking. Traffic noise wasn't bad at all...I just didn't want my kids to ride bikes with the cars and no sidewalks...again, my fault for not checking...not the owner's fault at all! Only suggestion would be having comforters/duvets added in the top duvet covers on each of the beds...they were just empty duvet covers that served as bedspreads. Maybe they were in the house somewhere to add, but we couldn't find them. Overall, would highly recommend this house!!! Great communication with owner, and property manager was very nice! Thanks for a great week!

We were happy to be back together again after an almost three year break because of the virus and overall we had a great week mostly hanging out at the house in the pool, and cooking. We agree with a prior review that the pictures are a bit misleading, the house is not near as large as it looks. Also we agree that the sofa is very uncomfortable. The beds were ok. There was a problem at check in on Saturday with the cleanliness of the pool and it was fixed on Monday. Many spiders and webs in the lanai. The pool and hot are visually private, neighbors are pretty close but not a problem. There were some minor plumbing issues, a very slow draining bathroom sink, and a leaking toilet. There were lots of nice towels. Nearby Shamrock Park & Nature Center was really nice for walking everyday. The house is on a busy road so walking on Jamaica Road is not ideal. The kitchen is pretty well supplied but we brought our own small appliances and I wish I had also brought a non stick frying pan. A game / puzzle table would have been nice in the area inside the front door.

This is probably one of the cleanest places we have rented. Beautiful decorated! Everything you need on the inside plus things for the pool & beach. The only things that we didn’t care for was the living room furniture, little to modern for our taste. Was no way to relax on it & watch tv. The other thing was the electrical charge allowance you get …that was a first for us …not sure how that works especially when super hot. We would rent here again!

Great Place!
Overall amazing stay both Gerty and Michelle were wonderful, only negative thing that I would say is that the photos in the listing make the space look a lot larger than it actually is (which is the first thing my family noticed walking into the space) and the furniture is really uncomfortable but we spent a lot of time at the beach instead of in the house. Location and functionality are what really made the stay great. This specific space is within about a 20 minute drive from 3 different amazing beaches and only about an hour drive from the central Siesta Key area. Overall would book again :)

This place was everything in the description and more. We went there for a high school reunion and had so much fun there. It was very professionally decorated and very comfortable!

Wonderful house
We had a wonderful 2 week stay - the house was spotless, and had everything we could possibly need. The towels (bath and beach) were very nice - we went to the ferry beach one day, but our favorite ended up being Manasota beach, a short 10 minute drive. Shamrock park was a great place to walk. We will be back - thank you Gerty and Colleen!

Wonderful Villa
Everything about this property was wonderful! It was clean and well-stocked, and the location is so convenient to the beach plus any restaurant or shopping you may need. I loved the layout of the house as the master is on one side opposite the other two bedrooms. My son discovered a small library of books that he absolutely loved. Lots of great beach equipment and pool toys. The property manager, Colleen, was easy to communicate with and very helpful with suggestions on food and beaches. Found about 20 shark teeth! This home is a little gem and we can’t wait to return.

Wonderful place to stay! Gerty and Colleen were so helpful with anything we needed! This place has everything you need from cooking supplies, games, puzzles, toys for the younger ones to play with, bikes to ride, beach stuff to borrow,.the list goes on and on! The pool and hot tub were also an added bonus. Very clean, very roomy, it was perfect for our family of 6!
So many nice beautiful beaches ranging from 5 mins away to 30 mins away. Our favorites were Lido Key and Siesta Key! I would highly recommend Gertys place and we plan to be back next year!

Beautiful home with a few quirks
First, this home is beautiful, clean and decorated fantastically. A few things to keep in mind:
1. Heating the pool is an additional $85 for a week - we did not need this due to the temperature outside but your mileage may vary according to the season.
2. You are given a $35/week electric allowance on the home - I am not sure how this is monitored but this is something to consider.
3. The AC is wifi enabled and is monitored remotely by the owner. The temperature is set to 72 degrees while you are home, and 78 degrees while you are not there. If you like colder temperatures, please keep this in mind. It was slightly concerning to be remotely monitored via the Internet. When we arrived at the home, it was over 80 degrees so it took a while to cool down.
4. The private beach area is accessible only from 9am to 430pm and does not include Wednesday's so plan to go to a public beach if you want to go after these hours.
5. You do hear quite a bit of airplane traffic as other reviews have mentioned.
6. The couch in the living room area is not comfortable and it made it difficult to watch TV or movies (I took our own Amazon FireStick to connect).
The property manager did apologize for the remote wifi connectivity for the AC (we found a single ring doorbell camera on the outside of the property and no other cameras indoors) which is apparently a new feature that was added. The pool and hot tub were very nice and clean, but we would prefer something closer to a beach with hours that were not restrictive.

Great experience and very clean
Our vacation at a different location was canceled due to hurricane Ida. Within an hour we booked this location. We loved the pool and house, very clean and excellent communication with owner. The only thing that was very disappointing, which was not owners fault, was that Red Tide was very bad in the area. We could not go to the beaches due to the smell and it irritating all of our throats and making our children cough as soon as we got out of the car. We immediately got back in the vehicle and soon discovered it was Red Tide. We are not from the area and it was the first time we’ve heard of it. I definitely feel we could’ve been warned or notified of the Red Tide before hand. However, we did have a good time and enjoyed the location and house. We highly recommend the house and owner.

Great House
Thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful home! It was truly a perfect place for us during our anniversary stay. The pool is amazing and incredibly peaceful!
We had just a few issues:
Grill ran out of propane and it was never replaced
We used the green cooler that was provided with the house and it was to big for the ferry and they did not let us on the boat so we never got to make it to the private beach.
One of the bikes tubes was broken so our group couldn't ride together, Colleen mentioned that they had to swap bikes between the two houses.
Thank you again for letting us stay in your beautiful home, it made for a prefect week to celebrate our wedding anniversary!!

Great Spring Break Property
Having an amazing pool right in your own backyard was key. When we weren’t at the beach we were hanging out in the backyard from the moment we woke up until we went to bed. The backyard had the perfect amount of sun and shade - true paradise.

We came down for a week in November to see the area and look for a potential new home. The house was great for us, very clean with all the amenities we needed. Enjoyed the pool and the spa and the location was great...quiet and well located between Sarasota & Punta Gorda. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend to other vacationers!

Great location, but...
On the plus side, the property is close to many good restaurants, shopping, the Venice ferry, and downtown Venice.
On the negative side, the property is located on the main street into the neighborhood making it a very busy road with lots of noise. We never left the front door open because of that. The house is also directly under the flight pattern of many small planes departing and arriving at a nearby airport. We couldn't leave the back door open because it sounded like a plane was landing in the pool.
The decor is lovely. However, there is very little seating in the main living area. The sofa sits so low to the ground it isn't good for relaxing.
The two bathrooms are very nice. But neither had a fully functioning shower. The handheld shower head in each were broken from its holder. Colleen pointed out this problem in the master bath upon our arrival and said that the owner would be getting it repaired. It didn't occur during our stay. We therefore, used the shower in the second bathroom because it had a stationary shower that worked. That meant we had to parade across the living from the master bedroom each day to shower.
The pool needed cleaning. There was trash in the pool next to the steps and a spider the size of one described in a Stephen King novel. There was a very thick ring caused by the hard water around the sides of the pool.

Fun in the Sun
We had a wonderful time in Venice. The house was perfect. The pool and spa were a fantastic retreat in the cool evenings. From check in to check out Gerty and her staff were courteous and attentive.

Family Getaway
Gerty and Heidi took great care of us. Check in & out process was easy. We enjoyed the property and had everything we needed including pool toys, beach chairs, etc. Plenty of space for 2 adults, 2 teens, and a preteen. We didn’t utilize the ferry pass this trip just due to them having a lot of Covid restrictions on top of normal ferry rules but still spent a lot of socially distanced time at the beach. Manasota and Blind Pass are great places. Pool and spa are great! We opted to not use the pool heater (it’s a toss up this time of year) but I would recommend if you are visiting in mid/late October and on. This is a residential area so you will have normal noise from neighbors but it’s worth the trade off from being in an overpopulated tourist packed area. If you are looking for good local food in the area check out Off the Wagon/3 Bridges Brewery for dinner or Tony’s Chicago Beef for a quick roadside lunch.
