About this cottage rental

The bungalow is located just around the corner from the cafes and shopping in the Ballance Street Village, is on the same street as the museum and weekly farmers' market and only 10 - 15 minute walk from the Botanic Gardens and the CBD. Only a 10 minute drive to beautiful Wainui or Waikanae beaches.

We offer contactless check-in and check-out, and the unit is well-cleaned and disinfected between stays. We offer 100% refund if your travel plans change.

This one bedroom bungalow is newly constructed, tastefully decorated and fully equipped if you want to cook for yourself. Tea, coffee, milk and sugar provided. The garden is shared with the family house.
Special conditions:
There is a friendly dog on the property so must be ok with dogs.

Children welcome if you bring your own portable cot or co-sleep.

Please park on the street.

Overall was very satisfactory. Very friendly owner with an adorable litlle puppy. Only drawback is no offstreet parking. Not a biggy. Was great just for me and my husband - spacious. Unfortunate about the bad weather as we couldn't access outside. Outside looked nice.

Lovely property and good location. Very clean and comfortable. Most things were provided with a couple of exceptions I hadn't noted prior to arriving. I wasn't aware there would not be any milk until I arrived and the same with no TV. There is wifi so I used this instead. I would have liked to have access to an iron. But overall a lovely place to stay.

Stayed Cyclone Gabrielle week. Chaos in town with floods etc. Sue and John made us very welcome and kept us well informed on the situation. Bach lovely, everything we needed.

Very nice unit, Clean, well equipped and the hosts were very nice. Also, great location - walking distance to central Gisborne and the Balance Street Village. Guests should be aware that the wifi is very weak, there is no TV and very little privacy as the unit is the back yard which is used by the host family.

Beautiful quiet unit, very warm and easy access, location was close to town centre and owners were very friendly. Only down fall was the hot water in the unit kept cutting out during our shower

Was a good place to stay, it was tidy, cozy and welcoming. The host put the heater which was great. Had everything I needed, Could be worth investing into a wireless extender for the cabin but otherwise it was a great stay.

Very clean and comfortable. It was super hot in Gisborne and the only cooling system we had was fans, which were unfortunately inadequate for the job. Would be nice to have more privacy from the main house, maybe some screening. Otherwise we throughly enjoyed our stay, close to all ammenities and plenty of room for both my husband and I.

Overall stay was OK....our hosts never introduced themselves to us at all, we got an occasional "hi" and were completely ignored on multiple occasions...guessing it may have been as we were from Auckland...so beware Aucklanders. We definitely would not return to this property, very disappointing. No TV, No Iron and most of all No Privacy. The dog "Sadie" however was very friendly.
