About this house rental
Typical traditional country house, 3200 square feet, 4 bedrooms, 10 guests, located in a large, isolated and planted garden with views on the Luberon mountains and a 40 feet long heated swimming pool.
"Le Mas des Cassandrons" is located in the village of Ménerbes, between Ménerbes, Bonnieux and Lacoste in Provence. This is the village featured in Peter Mayle's book "A year in Provence". Prized as one of the most beautiful village in France, it is a highlight of the Luberon regional natural park.
Ideally located, a stone's throw away from the boutique hotel "La Bastide de Marie", in a very quiet setting, this charming house offers high-level features, a refined provençal decor, and specious interior volumes.
You will enjoy the charming Provence lifestyle, the quietness, the preserved nature and the stunning views on the Lubéron Mountains and Saint Hilaire Church. Distant from neighbors and from all source of noise, you will enjoy peaceful and relaxing vacations.
The private swimming pool (40 feet long and 15 feet wide) is designed as a swimming facility (even depth of 5 feet 5 inches) with a small square access platform for kids. The pool has a manual rollable cover which preserves the water heat during the night. The heating system provides a minimum water temperature of 77°F from May to October. The filtering system is salt based, with a salt concentration 7 times lower than the sea, and ensures clean, odorless and non irritating water for the eyes and the skin. A large trampoline is also available for the kids.
Chairs, lounge beds and umbrellas are available around the pool to relax and sunbathe.

We arrived in Ménerbes and were greeted by the housekeeper, Myriam. The house is broken up into sections by beautiful stone walls. The front door is located in the summer living room, but we spent most of our indoor time in the cozy winter living room, as it was closer to the kitchen and had a fairytale view of the backyard. Outside the pool area is breathtaking. The furniture is a bit odd, plastic white chairs and reclining loungers. It would be nice to have a couch and chairs with cushions. The landscaping was tired and could use some pruning, but I'm sure once the lavender blooms, it will be beautiful. Things to note: You are only provided with one trash bag and NO house supplies, such as hand soap, dish soap, bathing products, laundry soap or dishwasher soap. There are also NO spices or oils for cooking. So traveling for 12 hours from United States and had to immediately go out and spend over $50 on house supplies that we couldn't take back to US with us. Every VRBO I've stayed in has these basic necessities, so I was shocked to find out they were not supplied. That said, when we messaged the owner, they sent Myriam over with wine and snacks (but still no extra trash bag) to make up for it. We did have lots of rain each day, which caused the pool to be unusable, so only got to swim once. The wasps were everywhere, and tiny red spiders too. Overall, we had a relaxing, fun time in Ménerbes and surrounding towns.
