Before our travel dates, Troy was responsive immediately to my questions and made terrific suggestions for recreation options and provided details so that we were prepared to make the most of our stay. Our check-in was smooth and the home felt like it was perfect for us. The kids (four aged 8 - 13) really loved the large upstairs area with bunk beds and living space just for them. Frankly, us adults (me, my husband, and my mom) liked them having their dedicated space too. My 13 year old even felt super special when she got to move into the extra queen bedroom during our stay just to get her own private space for a bit. The roku TVs were easy to use and gave us plenty of areas to lounge after beach fun all day. The beds were comfy too! And that brings me to the highlight! The beach access is so close! We used the nice chairs and boogie boards that were available to borrow from the house. We took our short walk carrying the few things we needed for a relaxing day at the water and spent every day in clear, refreshing, Gulf water. The Gulf was calm and blue-green every single day. We felt almost as if we'd found a secret spot because we have never been on the beach in July with so few people around us. Under the house is prepared for quickly rinsing feet and gear and getting back to relaxing out of the sun. The hot tub was sparkling clean and ready when we were! Also, the outdoor shower is so wonderful and private; it's the only place I wanted to shower for our entire stay. The bathrooms were well appointed, though, just not as cool as showering alfresco! Turtle nesting season is in high gear, so after sundown we were sure to observe the lighting rules, but found them easy to comply with and given the excellent cause, we felt it a privilege to do so. Thanks to some terrific nearby island neighbors, we were invited to witness the returning of several rescued baby turtles to the water on one of our evenings. It was an amazing experience none of us will ever forget. As Floridians, we're proud of the respect shown to these vulnerable creatures. The local golf cart rental went smoothly and the ride to the island resort for ice cream and fishing supplies was a real treat! If you're into ice cream, the best we found was at Made in the Shade on McCall Rd on the mainland, so try that out too. The ferry ride is so quick and easy and also a memory-maker. Thank you! We'll hope to be back again sometime!

Exceeded Expectations
We chose this home knowing nothing about the area or Don Pedro Island. We are so glad we stumbled upon it! The house location was perfect. The home sits directly across the street (this is a street that is more frequented by golf carts than cars!), from the gulf. There is a path that takes you directly to the beach. The beach was beautiful and the turquoise water was amazing. We saw dolphins just off the beach our first day!The home fit our group perfectly. The front porch may have been our favorite part- the view while eating at the table or drinking coffee on the couch couldn’t be beat. The well stocked kitchen and family room (with a very large sectional and big screen TVs) opened up to the front porch which made the house feel so open. For our group of 10, it was more than accommodating. Under the house you’ll find the hot tub and the shower, as well as a great place to prepare for your outings. We lucked out as the house had a wagon, boogie boards, an umbrella, beach chairs and floats from other renters leaving them. The house also had plenty of beach towels. These extras were key since we were flying from Denver. BUT if you need anything, there is a Walmart just up the road and a great Publix grocery store just up the road from the ferry. You DO have to plan ahead on groceries and other items you may need since the ferry is $55 round trip. (FYI- you pull up to the ferry crossing and a gentleman in a golf cart literally gives you a ticket to cross and charges your card-ha!) It was that easy. And quick! The house was so well stocked that I would recommend going to the house first. We brought 5 SUPS (paddleboards) with our group and paddled in the gulf AND in the mangroves over to Don Pedro State Park. After getting off the ferry, take a right on the main road and go to the Ace Hardware and hang a right. There is a great location to park and walk your kayaks or SUPS to a put-in in the inter coastal waterway. Cross the main waterway and follow the shoreline. There is even a secret channel that takes you into a hidden lagoon where you can see starfish, jellyfish and possibly manatees Following the shore will bring you under a bridge and then into an area where there are a few boat slips. Paddle over, park your kayak or SUP on land, walk about 50 yards on a path and you have found the state park beach. It’s the same beach as the one across from the house but such a great way to see it!!! Finally, Troy was so great and responsive. It’s a gem!

Loved our stay!!!
Great place! Perfect walk to the beach, nice outdoor hot shower with a big jacuzzi tube, everything you ever need the house has and we were very happy to have a nice place to do our salty laundry . Behind the house has a nice covered area for the kids to fish and play which was perfect! We loved everything about it and will most defiantly be staying here again!!!

We had a fantastic week! The property was perfect for our group of 8. The beach is literally across the street. The kids enjoyed the hot tub and the adults enjoyed the porch with ocean views. The property owner was quick to respond to any questions we had. Check out was the easiest process we’ve ever had with a vrbo. Highly recommend!

Overpriced for the quality
While the house was ok, the amenities we have experienced in our many Vibo stays over the years were sadly lacking. A large number of towels were frayed and had holes in them, kitchen rugs seemed to haven’t been washed in a long time, first aid kit only had bandages, plates and glasses a mishmash of plastics so only one glass wine glass to be found, tiny soap so old they break upon opening the package, windows with no screens and wouldn’t open and upstairs shades all broken so can’t hook them up to look out. Too bad as the house could be very nice.

The house is fantastic. Same for the beach. We found golf, boating and fishing very close by and good.

Amazing island getaway
This was by far the best vacation we have taken without having to leave the country. My crew included myself my wife and two children, my mom, dad and my niece. The house was absolutely perfect, the pictures did not do it justice. There was plenty of space for the 7 of us and we even left one room unused. The kids absolutely loved the upstairs loft space, they felt like they had their area to themselves. The house was stocked with cleaning supplies, towels(beach included), beach chairs, grill , basic seasonings and so much more. The beach was just a quick walk in front of the house and in the back was a private dock. We rented a boat from Abs boats. My dad and I caught the ferry across, picked up the boat a drove right up to the back of the house to pick up the rest of the family for a day out on the water. The house had everything we needed. We did plan ahead and brought enough food for the 6 days we stayed. The ferry costs $55 round trip for the car so we made sure to bring all the food we needed. We planned a lot of family activities as well. The only downside, which was no fault to the owner, was the amount of mosquitos. We live in central Florida so mosquitoes are nothing new to us and we planned ahead by bringing mosquito gear. The county spray truck also came by while we were there. Troy the owner is very responsive to questions before and during our stay. He was really great to work with and answered so many of my questions very quickly. The hot tub was a huge plus, my mom was in it everyday. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and everyone was really sad as we departed on our last day.

Perfect Island Family Getaway
Plenty of space for everyone to sleep comfortably. Beautiful porch to gather for coffee in the morning or to relax in the evening. Only a few steps to the beach. The home was nice and clean and the owners responsive to questions both before and during our stay. Our adult children and our parents enjoyed a wonderful time together — none of the distractions that come with a busier beach town.

What a great place in Florida! Has everything you need for a relaxing week. Troy is great to work with and the property is a perfect place for a great week. Close to the beach which was not crowded and also has a dock which has a lift. We rented a center console 18 foot fishing boat from a local place and kept it at the dock for 3 days! Hot tub was perfect along with the outdoor shower! The house was clean and well kept. Recommended!

Definitely an island getaway
A great place to unplug and get away from the fast paced day to day. Attentive owner with great communication.

3 generations birthday weekend
Once you cross on the ferry, you are in the most peaceful area! The location of the house is great, about 150 yard walk across the street to the beach and a canal behind the house if you bring a boat! The accommodations were perfect for 5 adults and 2 kids, they even had kids games and kitchenware. We are Floridians and enjoy being outdoors, but I would note that the only dining space is outside on the screened in porch. The area under the house was a nice hang out with chairs, hot tub and outdoor shower. We found tons of sharks teeth and saw a dozen sea turtle nest at the beach. We might have seen a total of 20 people on the beach all weekend so it was very relaxing and peaceful. We would stay at this property again in a heart beat.

Best of two worlds.
Great ocean view and a dock right near the main inland channel. The Hot Tub was a great addition after a long day on the boat or beach.
We loved it
