The grounds were quiet this time we stayed. Communication with the manager was always speedy and courteous. Breakfast was yummy and served with a smile! It was the highlight of our stay.
My husband and I have been patrons of The Whispering Pines B&B for over 5 years, and we've stayed in most of the rooms over that time. Sadly, we've seen things deteriorate in that 5 years. The whole grounds need updated, but here's what we seen:
First, the area is in need of cleanup, especially the grounds around where our cottage was. As you walk from the Sterling Suite To the main house, there were old appliances sitting outside, and what I think was a grill to a truck was also propped up against some trees. The newly opened Sterling Suite is located in the house the owners use to live in.
There's a lot of clutter outside the suite with a garden hose going across the porch. I had to be mindful not to trip over it, especially after dinner when we walked back as the lighting is not good up that walkway.
Inside the suite, the fireplace was nice, but we couldn't run the heat to it because when we did, the smell of dirt and dust came from it and I'm allergic to dust. We did have the wall mounted heater/ air conditioner to fall back on should it get too cold.
Ceiling fans were not dusted as I requested and the marble floors were sticky with something. The bed was comfy as at first, but became uncomfortable throughout the night. Also the remote controls to the TV are FILTHY. I clean homes and so I see the small details and this cottage is in need of spring cleaning. Kitchenette also was missing spoons, the customary snacks, extra dishes and glassware we've come to expect from most of their suites. When we asked our server for two wine glasses as we had wine in our suite for after dinner, she initially refused and offered me two plastic cups! I had to tell her I texted the manager and had permission to borrow the glasses. They then obliged.
Also, about 5am, I heard some scratching and chewing on the other side of our wall. I couldn't tell what it was, but it was rather unsettling.

We've stayed in the Satin Splendor Suite before and chose this room again because of the comfy bed and it's rustic charm. It's exactly what we love in a getaway and it's my favorite room to stay in!
Tracy was also very thoughtful and put some little extra touches in our room to make it look extra special. She's a wonderful host!
Breakfast was great too; They even accommodated me when I ordered eggs over easy instead of scrambled, even thigh it isn't on the menu.
We will definitely be coming back!
Prices in the restaurant went up so we were sad that we had to skip dining in the restaurant.
Also, we couldn't get the ceiling fan to turn on although the light in it worked, and when you flip the switch to the fan, you can see it does nice very slightly, so we decided to not use it.

Staff is always super.
Usually Whispering Pines is a place where my husband abd I go for a quick getaway, because it's usually very quiet, however this isn't the case this go around . Dogs on premises were constantly barking even until late hours of the evening and other guests were carrying on quite loudly.
Room was really dusty. I'm allergic to dust and I couldn't run the ceiling fan due to the dust. I didn't want to say anything while we were there. Ceiling fan hadn't seen a dusting in months I'm sure. I have pictures of the dust.

The staff is amazing, the location remote but accessible to Norman. A great quiet, romantic escape whether you are local or traveling. I enjoyed our stay and will continue to book with them!
The rooms need a little basic upkeep. Paint chips on the walls, outlet covers scratched, simple things like that.

The property was well lit and decorated for the holidays. Inside was a beautiful Christmas tree and train set with a staircase that was lit up. So cozy and comforting.
Nothing!

The breakfast was delicious and the location was awesome.
The only thing we found uncomfortable were the pillows.

The food was delicious! Everything was gourmet. I would give a 10 star rating for the food alone. BEAUTIFUL exterior. It was a shame it was so hot and there were so many mosquitoes, because we would have liked to walk the grounds more and possibly eaten outside. The interior was decorated nicely. Felt homey but fancy.
The room had a bit of a musty smell to it. The couch and bed were obviously over used because both would sink in too much where many, many people have sat and slept over the years. It made them a little uncomfortable. The jets in the bathtub did not work, which was very disappointing as we were looking forward to a jacuzzi bath the most. We had dinner reservations at 6pm, but when we arrived, no one was around. We waited for a bit and then finally called. They said their server was late. The server never showed up. The kitchen staff ended up serving us. They were very nice, though, and the food was amazing. No bartender, so only beer or wine could be served. They just need to hire more staff. Finally, they have a DVD selection to watch a movie in your room. Our DVD player did not work, so we also could not use this feature of the stay.

Location was beautiful.
Breakfast was no better than a Dennys or Village Inn. Very limited on choices for breakfast
Room was dirty. On top of the bed was a THICK coating of dust as well as on top of the fridge and other fixtures. When walking down the stairs the carpet was so dirty it poofed dust and you could write your name in most surfaces outside the room. Window ledges were filthy. Outside seating area was filthy with dirt and never picked up after a guests party left trash everywhere.
Everything seemed old, needed painting or had chips or broken pieces. There was broken tiles in the bathroom, one window the screen was ripped the other was missing all together so we couldn't open windows, could not control temperature in room, remote for TV did not work, faucet in bathroom was so loose I was surprised it didn't break off in my hand, piece of trim next to bed on the floor wasn't attached to wall just loose and placed there to look like it wasn't broken. Lighting was poor and made it difficult to read had to unplug a lamp and perch it over bed so we could read in the evening. Walls were extremely scuffed and in desperate need of a paint job.
Checking in there was literally nobody there we were just sent a text message with a code to get in the door that expired but check out time so we had to knock to get back in when we were loading out luggage out. Once we got settled there was nobody there at all bar was not open ( this was Friday night) until the Saturday evening. Felt very Air B&B however had we wanted an airBB that what we would have gotten instead of paying quiet a high rate for very poor service and experience. I've stayed in motels that were cleaner to be honest. The only redeeming feature was the grounds are beautiful bit the entire place has a general run down shabby and neglected vibe and it is certainly not worth the price of the room.

Lovely property, lots of open space and trees around. Great to sit out and enjoy the day. Great restaurant with an excellent breakfast and dinner.
Chairs outside our room were very uncomfortable. Cleanliness can be improved. The nightstand by the bed looked like it was not wiped down fully. There was an old coffee mug with tea inside the microwave.

Beautiful place!! Excellent accommodations!! The garden jacuzzi was AMAZING!! Would highly recommend this place! Low price for this property!
The roads are pretty narrow but we were able to unhook our boat and leave it in a safe place on the property.

Location was good for this particular trip. Felt secluded and enjoyed opportunity to relax. Easy checkin.
Parking was a bit of a walk with luggage, but okay otherwise.

We liked the location and the grounds. The breakfast was good.
More staff on location to answer questions. We tried calling and left 2 messages with no reply. Texts were available and were answered. Unable to reach staff to check out at end of stay. Still awaiting credit card receipt.

The Dinner was marvelous. The entire staff treated me like a queen.
WAY too many weeds. ended up pulling alot myself. Made the property look sloopy. Please take care of that. In my room dont think it was cleaned. was a dirty sock on the floor and a ton of dust on everything ecspecially the blinds.. The bed needs replaced a huge sag. The people were great , but you need to take pride in the place..

After a two week trip and 8 different hotels, this one is the absolute BEST of all. Amazing room, huge with a 2 person Jacuzzi tub. Bed was the best one we slept on and the little extras that were provided sets the Whispering Pines way above all other locations. Bathrobes, huge soft bath towels and a cute little fireplace in the room. Finally, the breakfast. You select what you want and it is delivered to your room. Huge, tasty and hot. We will DEFINITELY stay here again on future trips to the OKC area.

it was peaceful. food was excellent. service was excellent! it was a perfect little 10-year anniversary getaway!
there was no thermostat that we could find in the room, so it got a little warm, but our ceiling fan helped.

Everything was more than we could’ve imagined. the staff is so friendly and helpful. The property and room are beautiful + so clean. The 2 seater jacuzzi tub is to die for!! They also give you bubble bath and salts that smell heavenly + robes which is an added touch! The breakfast brought to the room was delicious. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this place for the value!
The pillows were a little too soft, but we brought our own.
