About this house rental
Complete with boat dock, fire pit, charcoal, grill, large hot tub, and beautiful views overlooking Mill Creek Lake in Marshall, Illinois. Perfect for family reunions or couples get away. Master bedroom with two queen beds and master bath. Two bedrooms upstairs with queen beds and full bath. Bunk room in basement with 4 queen over queen bunk beds. Full bath downstairs.
Minimum age to rent 25. This is not a place for high school or college aged kids to party unsupervised. We are looking for mature adults. No fireworks, kegs or illegal drugs or renters will be asked to leave without refund.

Beautiful cabin with lots of space. Hot tub, dock, fire pit and game room...what more could you need.

Our group of six convened from Michigan and Kansas for the total eclipse of April, 2024. The house was fabulous - in great shape, clean, well-stocked, and spacious - we enjoyed all the indoor amenities, including ping pong, pool, and foosball, and spent time in all the outdoor spaces: the covered front porch, back deck, patio picnic area, hot tub, fire ring, and we enjoyed the entire eclipse and 2 minutes of totality on the lakefront deck. And Jenny, the host, was promptly available and helpful before and during our stay (including fixing a glitch with the hot tub). And we enjoyed the eclipse events in nearby Marshall, as well as hikes in Lincoln Trail State Park, Fay Pickering Memorial Trail, and Rocky Branch Nature Preserve.

We needed a place to stay for a funeral in Terre Haute. This was the only place we could find large enough to accomodate our family. It was a beautiful cottage on a beautiful lake. Very clean and safe. The owner was responsive and friendly. Kitchen was well appointed. We would like to go back in the summer time.

This is the perfect place to connect with family and friends. The home is gorgeous and located in a quiet lakefront community. Lots of space to spread out, both inside and out. The kitchen is well appointed, but could use a stovetop griddle or black stone to make cooking for a large group more accommodating. Easy access to the lakefront deck via a very long wooden walkway with stairs. The hot tub and fire pit were perfect for a cool October evening.

Peaceful Family Getaway
Beautiful property had everything we needed for three families to enjoy a long weekend on the lake. I would highly recommend for families or small groups looking to make memories and connect with nature. Breathtaking views of the water and wildlife, nice dock for fishing, hot tub, cozy fire pit, and even a ping pong table and pool table to keep everyone entertained. We would 100% book again.

Perfect for a wedding!
We rented this beautiful cabin for a place we could use as a retreat and a place to use for the wedding party to get ready at for the big day! It was perfect! The weather did not cooperate so we used the cabin for picture before the wedding. Turned out great! This property is perfect for just that. Anything you need, it has. Accommodated all the wedding party, plus a few more. Wonderful experience!

Beautiful Home
The home is beautiful, well maintained and comfortable. We do wish keys were left so we could lock up the property when we came and went. The beds were also slightly hard and could have used a foam mattress topper. Other then that everything was perfect. The docks were great to hang out on and enjoy the view of the water.

We had an amazing time, this place looked beautiful even in winter, watching the dear grazing through the window delightful! The host was very responsive and super helpful. We will be back in summer to enjoy the lake!

Best Christmas Trip
We checked in and we’re blown away with how beautiful the cabin was. Took my breath away. My family and I were so impressed. There was plenty to do while there…. A pool table, ping pong and a hot tub!!! The kids all got to have a sleepover in the many bunk beds down stairs, there was plenty of room for our big family to hang out. It was amazing and made our whole experience so special. The only issues we ran into were that the garbage disposal was not working and we didn’t realize that until after we were doing dishes and food had went down in there, so cleaning it out was not fun. The down stair bathroom toilet clogged and we were unable to locate a plunger and there weren’t many skillets to cook with. But besides those minor hick ups everything else was perfect. I hope to be able to come and stay again. I would recommend it to everyone at least once.

Absolutely fantastic!!
I rented this house for a family get together with my family, my parents, and my sister’s family. It was incredibly peaceful, relaxing, quiet and beautiful. Everything we were looking for and more. The kids 7,9,and 11 had so much fun downstairs with the cool bunk beds, the ping pong and pool table, and of course the warm, bubbling jacuzzi! (The adults also enjoyed all these games and relaxing in the jacuzzi in the evening). We had fires around the fire pit, sat out on the two tiered dock. I can’t think of a single thing we needed that wasn’t there. The hostess was available by phone and messaging on Vrbo, very responsive, gracious, helpful. If you see this available, BOOK IT! I would definitely go back! The only thing we could possibly find wrong was a few crumbs in the appliance garage in the kitchen. The house was otherwise perfectly tidy. The view from the back windows is breathtaking!!!

50th Anniversary Family Celebration
We had the most wonderful weekend at the Mill Creek Lodge. Everything was perfect. The home and property far exceeded our expectations. The pictures don’t do it justice. We made so many wonderful memories there that we will treasure always. Someday, we hope to return.

The only issue we faced was the two upstairs bedrooms when we had gone to sleep for the night was crawling and flying with ladybugs all over the ceiling and the bedding, many dead on the floor too. This happened for the two nights we were there. The owners did not respond untill after we left. Couples had to sleep separate. Owner replied back as “being in the woods can be annoying” and “thanks for staying”. We booked the property solely based on reviews, driving for hours to get to the place and would want future renters to know on this issue. Other than that, everything else at the property was great.

Best Girl Scout Trip EVER
Our group of 10 had an amazing time at Mill Creek Lodge! Four moms and six 7th grade Girl Scouts had plenty of room in this quiet cabin. Each parent had their own bed, and the girls had a blast in the basement bunks. We spent most of our time outside swimming in the lake, cooking over the campfire, and eating meals on the balcony. The sky gorgeous at night, and we even saw shooting stars. The house was extremely clean, which made everyone even more comfortable during the COVID outbreak. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed for our baking competition too. My girls have already asked to come back next year!

Perfect Lodge
Simply Amazing !! Perfect Location , Woods , Water and gorgeous home . The pictures do not do this home justice. It is huge for starters. Tranquil setting on the water with woods and open view ! This Home is well loved and it shows . Nothing is sub par here. TV in hot tub , along with Brick patio firepit. Great sunsets and just nestled out of town to fell far away. But close enough to get the things you need. Who would of thought Illinois had a hidden Gem. NO REGRETS !! Will be back again . Marc Anderson

A Truly Amazing Place!
There is so much to say about this place. Let's start with some of the basics:
1. The location is simply stunning. The first picture of the listing of the dock on the water is how the entire experience will be. We were there when there were no leaves on the trees and it was beautiful. I can't imagine what it is like during the summer.
2. The house is huge and could easily and comfortably fit 18-20 people. There were just 5 of us and we didn't even use the upstairs at all.
3. There is so much to do. This is a wonderland for families and large friend groups. We hiked, fished, played football, frisbee, and lacrosse in the yard. I'm sure the water sports would be fantastic as well.
4. Talk about SUPER clean. The house is immaculate.
5. Cook to your heart's content. The kitchen is well stocked.
6. Secluded. Need I say more.
We were looking for a different "place" to shelter in place for covid. This was WAY beyond our best dream. Thank you so much Jenny for sharing your lovely property. We will be back again for certain.
