We really enjoyed our stay at this cozy cabin. We loved the location at the end of the chain very calm part of the lake. We brought our dogs with and they loved swimming at their little beach. The beds were comfortable and the cabin had everything we needed. The owners were very easy and fast to communicate with , with any questions we had. We definitely plan on coming back.

Excellent get-away!
Very comfortable for my family -- 5 adults and 2 infants. Everything we needed to spend a week away from the cities on a beautiful lake, pontoon!, and easy access to town! Very relaxing!!

My family (including kids and grandparents) stayed here over MEA. We had a lovely time! The dock was out of the water (which we knew ahead of time), but the lake still provided a beautiful backdrop. The fall colors were pretty, and the sunrises dazzling. The sauna was a huge hit!! We also loved the record collection. The cabin was comfortable, and the large dining table was perfect for family meals and games. We enjoyed hiking at Fritz Loven Park and horseback riding at Pine River Stables.
Communication/info from the host before our trip was great/very responsive, but they were apparently out of reach the weekend of our stay, as an on-site question went unanswered (we figured it out).

Took the family up to see the fall color change, but i think we got there a bit early!! Still some good color though. We took a hike on the Fire Tower trail and climbed the tower, wow, what a view. Spent a lot of time with the family playing games and enjoying each others company. fired up the sauna on a rainy Sunday morning and then off to Nisswa for some lunch, shopping and the Vikings game. It was a great weekend!!

Our stay at the Nisswa Lake cabin (8/16-20/2021) was a mixture of the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. The Good: The cabin is definitely secluded, private, and in a very nice location on the lake. The cabin’s interior was as described and pictured, clean and well maintained. The sauna and firepit were good amenities. The on-site pontoon was the best part. We explored 3 or 4 lakes on our day-long excursion. Keith did an excellent job of explaining everything to us, and gave us some great navigation tips on where we could go and what we could see. Much appreciated!! Nisswa itself is close, and has great shopping and eating/drinking establishments. The Bad: (1) One of the main reasons that we chose this cabin to rent were the pictures of the “beach” and dock areas - lots of sand beach and an appealing waterfront so we could enjoy the water. Once we got there, we immediately realized that, in particular, pictures 9/33, 10/33, 12/33, and 13/33 were taken in a bygone era. They were certainly not representative of today. The “beach” indeed does have some sand. There is maybe 10’-12’ of sand and “open” water (mostly muddy bottom) between the dock and the weed bog. The weed bog extends from the shoreline out about 30’-40’ past the end of the dock and covers the entire area over to the neighboring dock, obscuring it from view. When pictures 9/33 and 13/33 were taken yesteryear, the water was open and the neighboring dock was visible. Not anymore. When we backed the pontoon out from the dock to the lake, we had to maneuver through the weeds and, once out on the lake, shut down the motor to remove weeds from the propeller before we could continue. (2) The written description indicates “TV,DVD,”. This description is indeed correct. There is a TV screen and a DVD player, and many DVDs to play. What the description does not indicate is that there is no cable, no satellite, and no local station access. The TV is limited to DVD playing only. The Ugly - The outside of the cabin has apparently not been tended to since yesteryear as well. The siding, windows, and screens were covered with cobwebs and deceased bugs, gnats, etc. The view from the inside to the outside was definitely hindered throughout. A complete hosing or pressure-washing is definitely in order. For our next up-North rental, we will definitely do some extra research and not totally rely upon written descriptions and potentially misleading pictures from the past.

The location of the cabin is near lots of fun activities. We enjoyed using pontoon and going between lake chains. Sauna was relaxing after busy days having fun. We enjoyed nightly bonfires, the quietness by the cabin, wildlife. We went into town for some lunches and ice cream/candy. Paul Bunion trail is very close by and it was beautiful. We took kids horse back riding 20 min away from the cabin. We definitely would come back. The owners were really helpful and responded right away and check in process was very easy and helpful.

Excellent get-away!
The property was exactly as advertised -- no surprises. The location provided the privacy our family was looking for away from the bustle of the cities while providing convenience to town if/when we wanted. The property comfortably fit our party of 3 couples and 1 other adult, plus 2 small dogs and 2 large dogs. Plenty of space for all indoors and out. Rented the pontoon for a couple of days and it was fantastic out on the lake. Would recommend this getaway to others! Thank you to our hosts!

Great location and cabin!
Great location! Close to town if needed, but the outdoor space is just spectacular! We spent 90% of our time outside our on the porch. The inside was definitely bigger than I expected from the photos and our family of 5 adults, 1 toddler and a dog had more than enough space. Also communicating with the host was excellent! She was so nice and accommodating to all my crazy questions. Would definitely stay again!

Nisswa Lake Cabin
The location is sweet for family, and for children. Very woodsy and yet near the village of Nisswa. Fun shops in Nisswa, Wednesday Turtle Races! Only fished and caught Sunnies and Bass. We did have some property hick-ups, but the owner was very nice and able to make an adjustment. If using the nearby boat launch, public landing, better have a powerful four wheel drive to get the boat out of the water... the ramp is super steep. A very nice location and we enjoyed the sauna, the vinyl records and the dock views. 😊

We had a wonderful time celebrating launching our young adult kids and getting away safely during COVID-19. We enjoyed the wood fired sauna and the turntable. The bed was comfy and the kitchen had everything we needed to make meals. We hiked at Frank Loven Park one day and biked the Paul Bunyan Trail on another. The whole long weekend satisfied our craving to get away and relax.

Quiet weekend away
Travel to Christinas property with another couple and could not have been more satisfied. There are separate bedrooms and baths on the two levels which provided privacy. Some wonderful quirky things that added a unique touch to the vacation: spinning records (an incredible collection, by the way), taking a sauna, rented her pontoon boat and floated around the lakes. Location is incredible!

Quintessential Cabin
My family enjoyed a fun and relaxing Labor Day Weekend at the cabin - it was everything we'd hoped for in an "up north" getaway. Communication with Christina was seamless, and meeting Tim at check-in to get the rundown on the boat was very convenient and helpful. Although we were rarely indoors, the space was roomier than I'd expected from the pictures, appointed with everything we needed, and beds were very comfortable. The standouts for us were outdoors: the private lot, functional deck/lawn space, gradual sand entry into the lake (perfect for little kids and the dog), like-new boat, and the sauna. The toys and lilypad stored in the shed were added bonuses.
Almost a month later and my toddler still goes on and on about "the cabin", catching fish and hugging the gnome. We'll be back!

Great friends weekend away
The cabin was perfect for our long weekend up north with friends. Communication with Christina was superb! We loved the location, cooked many of our meals on the grill, enjoyed the pontoon, fire pit, and the excellent record collection. Thanks!

Cabin Comfort
Walking into the cabin for the first time was liking walking into one's own family cabin. The cabin had that lived-in inviting feeling of comfort and ease. Plenty of space for us all to move about. Not decorated with items you fear your awkward teenager may break. : ) A porch screen door on a spring bringing back past memories of life around the lake. Plenty of lake views from windows, the patio sliding door, the screened porch, the front deck and patio! Lots of places to relax indoors and nice outdoor spaces with sitting areas! We loved that the yard are was very private and secluded. And the lake...well nothing beats a northern MN lake complete with a family of Loons! We had a wonderfully relaxing and fun filled time enjoying board games, the lake, and the evening fires around the firepit!

Great location!
This property was great for our family vacation. Beautiful views of the lake greeted us every morning! The house was a little dirty and could use a good deep cleaning inside and out. There was a plumbing issue our first evening that resulted in wet flooring and carpet in the basement. We had to clean up the mess but the owners were easy to work with and contacted a plumber right away to fix the issue. Using the sauna was a super fun and unique experience! The boat was in great condition and easy to use. Fishing off the dock was superb and great for the kids and they had a blast on the sand beach as well! The record collection was awesome and great for kid dance parties! Despite a few hiccups, we had a great family vacation and made a lot of great memories.

Relax & Unwind & have fun.
The home has everything you need for comfort and enjoying time on the water or off. Very nice 3 bedroom home with 2 like new bathrooms & screened-in porch over-looking the fire pit & outdoor sauna & boat dock. Wonderful outdoor patio with table & 6 chairs to sit and have dinner or just a morning cup of coffee. We all had a great time and look forward to renting this lake-side home again.

Perfect cabin on a beautiful lake
We had an absolutely wonderful time at the cabin. Everything was even better than described and our whole group had an amazing time. We caught so many fish from the dock, went boating in the lake and even saw black squirrels in the woods nearby. Loons with their babies on the water as well. The sauna was fantastic and fun was had by all. Completely recommend!!!
4.7
Best of both worlds
This secluded getaway had all the amenities you are looking for and then some. You could drink your morning coffee overlooking the lake outside on a bench, or in the screened porch. Take the afternoon on a boat, relaxing in a hammock or spotting the eagles, loons, deer and bear during a walk or bike ride. ( yes we saw all of those) Finish your evening around a fire or in a newly finished sauna. If you forgot anything at home, you are close enough to the shops. This was a great way for us to begin summer after our distance learning adventures.
4.7
Perfect Place
We had an excellent time at the cabin. The location was excellent as it was secluded but you could be at a grocery store in 10 minutes. The kids loved this place as it had a little beach and a large amount of sand and water toys for them to play with. You could easily watch over them from the fire pit area of the yard. I will be going back.
