About this house rental
Fareview Beach House, a 3 bedroom self-contained holiday home to suit couples or families, comfortably sleeping 9 guests.
Fareview is only minutes walk from the jetty, boat ramp, pristine white sandy beach and boasts panoramic sea and beach views from the fully enclosed sundeck. It's the perfect place to relax and unwind.
Complimentary WIFI, smart TV, separate shower & bath, washing machine, electric blankets (queen beds only), hairdryer and ironing facilities.
Hooded gas BBQ, slow combustion fire (wood supplied), fully equipped renovated kitchen with microwave, family size fridge/freezer and full size stove. Milkshake maker, blender & sandwich press too.
A selection of movies are supplied or you can relax with a magazine on the couch. You can try your hand at cards or a board game.
High chair and portacot supplied free of charge on request.
There is ample room to park your vehicle/s and boat in the yard. A fish cleaning sink is located outside under the shade of the shed.
Smoking allowed outside only.
Dogs are permitted for a nominal fee. The enclosed deck is a safe environment for your pets.
Tariff includes all bed linen, bath towels, tea towels, tea, coffee, sugar and a supply of other essential consumables.
Emu Bay is also a haven for dolphins, fairy penguins and pelicans and is a great base from which to explore Seal Bay, Flinders Chase National Park, Stokes Bay, American River, Penneshaw and surrounds.
The beautiful Emu Bay beach is accessible by car on the hard sand and one of the most popular spots for swimming, water sports and beach walks.
Emu Bay is just a 15 minute drive from Kangaroo Island's main township of Kingscote which offers a range of shops & services including - supermarket, takeaway food, hotels, restaurant, post office, ATM's, chemist, hospital, fuel outlets, laundromat, video store, tourist information, souvenirs and more.

Kangaroo Island is easily accessed by either a 30 minute flight from Adelaide or a 45 minute Sealink ferry crossing from Cape Jervis, a 2 hour drive south of Adelaide. These services operate all year round. You can bring your own car via the ferry or there are hire cars operating from Kingscote, Penneshaw or the airport.
Kangaroo Island is home to many native animals and has diverse landscapes in cliffs, sand dunes, bushland, farming land and beautiful beaches including Emu Bay. There is much to see and do so please give yourself enough time to see the sites.
The Farmers Market is held on the 1st Sunday of every month at the Lloyd Collins Reserve, Penneshaw. Purchase a range of fresh local produce from the people who grow, farm or make it.

It's a beautiful holiday home for family to stay. Short distance to the jetty where you can fish with Ur kids in a clean water.

We stayed 3 nights at Fairview Beach House. Great view. Short walk to the water. Sleeps up to 11, great for a family get away. Could do with a good garden tidy up, front and back. View a bit cut off. And a bit of TLC with the internal doors. But all needs provided for and in good proximity to Kingscote for supplies. Emu Bay is a beautiful spot. Will be back one day.

The property was well-presented and neat with all basic amenities. The property owner/manager was very accommodating and understanding and was just a call (Telstra Network only and no other) away should you encounter any unexpected issues at the property. We had a great family time and would love to come back - Thank you for having us !!

The house had good views of Emu bay beach. We had koalas visit us over several nights in the tree in the front yard. Short walk to the beach and jetty.

Wonderful stay at Emu Bay
Emu Bay is a lovely beach and Fareview is very comfortable base to visit the Island. It is well set up with everything we needed and deck is a great space for relaxing. Our pup had some great playtime in the spacious back yard and on the beach. We would definitely recommend and hope to stay again.

Fareview ticks every box.
Fareview is an absolute gem in a beautiful part of the world. It is a very functional beach shack that has it all, price, position and presentation. The property is a credit to the owners, Christine and Steve. Upon entering Fareview, the guests want for nothing. Thank you for sharing your house with us, we will return.

Perfect home away from home!
Beautiful property, so close to the beach. Awesome fishing spot along the jetty. Our labrador loved his morning walks along the beach and the enclosed deck was perfect for him. Awesome place, look forward to visiting again soon.

Fairview
Loved the location and would go back again. Tho I think the house is due for an update. There were cobwebs all around the house. There is mice poo in the bunk room behind the book case. I also asked for a cot but when we got there the cot was in the closet stacked full of lots of stuff which clearly wasn't freshly made up so I put my 2 yr in a single bed and hoped for the best. There were barely 10 pegs on the line to hang washing out with so had to buy some. The washing machine leaked as well. Ariel wouldn't work for the TV because it was broken so we rigged it up so we could get reception. I did notify owner if that one. The front blind wouldn't roll up but was lucky to have an uncle there that fixed that one. Microwave was missing a little foot underneath so was quite wonky. Would have been nice to have some microwave safe dishes to cook or reheat with.
Sounds abit like I'm complaining but I'm wondering whether other guests have failed to mention these things and gradually the little jobs are getting more and more of a list.
We would absolutely still stay again there but just thought I'd let you know a few things incase you wanted to get them sorted before the next people stay

The Good Life!
Thouroughly enjoyed the 'peace and tranquility', the house was well stocked for total self sufficient living away from home. The added bonus was the log fire in the cool evenings, very cosy. Wonderful walks along the beach collecting shells etc. our 14 year old dog became a pup again, running around off her lead!

Excellent property
We had a great stay. The property was clean and tidy and the view was fantastic. The best thing for us was that we could take our dogs and we really appreciated that. My husband loved fishing from the jetty where he caught a variety of fish.

Home away from home
I am a full time travel planner and have traveled extensively. This is by far the best homestay I have done in a long time. It is a home away from home. And all necessities are well stocked up. It is very convenient location and the home is just a good place to chill out after a long day.
I have 2 dogs with me who are usually very nervous to their new surroundings. However, they just feel very at home and enjoyed their stay thoroughly too.
I would highly recommend it to everyone who is looking for a comfortable and reasonably priced accommodation in Emu Bay.

Fantastic Stay!!!
We had a fantastic stay at Fairview Beach House. It was a place called home and had everything that we needed, clean and tidy and plenty of room to spread out. I highly recommended this place to any family wanting a relaxing get away. Great price for an outstanding property and we'll definitely be back.

This property is set up for a walk in holiday. The Beautiful view over Emu Bay from the back deck made the perfect place to relax with a wine or meal. The wildlife, 2 Echidnas, a Goanna, A Koala, all added to the experience.

Fantastic family home away from home
First time visit to KI - and we have nothing but big love for this place!!! Fareview was a big aspect of this for us, because it was stunning, super clean, well equipped and a very comfortable place for us to settle in. What made it even better was our ability to take along our beloved dog. Having the beach a few minutes away for her and the kids to run was fantastic, and then being able to unwind with a glass of wine on the balcony whilst watching the kids play cricket (and take in the view) was amazing.
As a home base, Emu Bay is great - it is secluded and quiet, yet close enough to Kingscote to get supplies, and only about an hour away from Flinders Chase (Remarkable Rocks etc). There are so many sights to take in, with Stokes Bay and Pennington Bay just a few that aren't the 'regular' places to visit.
One other mention is the authentic Thai food being served from a van in Kingscote on Sundays (fortnightly) - the same day as the Kingscote market or at their restaurant at/near American River every Thursday night. We were thrilled to learn that the 2 Thai cooks are from a small, remote (non-tourist) town in North East Thailand that we've spent loads of time in and their food is absolutely sensational.
We have travelled extensively as a family (domestically and internationally), and to hear the kids say that this was the best holiday ever is something to be really proud of. Christine - thanks for allowing us to share this time together!! We hope to be back soon.

Excellent family holiday house!
Nothing to complain about! The house was clean and very well equipped. Awesome view of the bay, loved sitting out on the enclosed deck, in the middle of winter, we weren't cold at all. So good to be able to bring our dog with us too.

Great location
We had 10 people stay at Emu Bay at Fareview Beach House, we all enjoyed the early morning views over the bay watching the Sun come up. It was a great central place to visit the rest of the Island as well as having a beautiful beach of its own. The nights were cold but the house had a wood heater that heated the whole house, you ended up taking off your jumper. I would definitely stay at this house again, although it was rather small, it had everything you needed to enjoy your time on the Island - great place, thanks for sharing your property with us.

Any time again - beautiful house and wildlife
We had a great time at the Fareview Beach House. Great location, beautiful view, short way to the beach, great for family and kids, pet friendly, loved the verandah and most special the wildlife. Had an echidna in the yard and two koalas in the tree - and the best was the young whale jumping out of the water for probably 1 hour in the bay! Just amazing!

This house has it all
Very comfortable, spacious house with everything provided. Relaxed feel, amazing views across the bay, and very close to Kingscote so its easy to keep supplies in. Emu Bay is a great location for exploring KI as it is so central. We loved Fareview Beach House

HOW GOOD IS THIS!
We had such a wonderful time in a fantastic home. If there was ever a place to wind down and switch off from the world, this is it. Great views from the veranda, warm inviting lounge area and lovely decorations throughout. The home offers so much. It's close to one of the best beaches Australia has to offer, fantastic fishing, wildlife where ever you look. The home is very well equipped, with everything you could want. Two weeks here was not enough.
