Four generations of family the home had plenty of room, kitchen is well stocked. Everything we needed for fun on the beach was there for us.the beds were very comfortable. The down stairs suit and outside shower was a nice plus. We were here in July. The Mosquitoes were trublesome and do wish more of the door had screens.
Pebble Beach was great when the surf wasn't high. Gorgeous snorkeling to the north of the bay.

We loved our stay at the lovely beach house! The studio gave our adult daughter privacy and the big living/dinning area and lanai gave us all perfect hang out space! We loved the black pebble beach and walked there multiple times a day. The sunsets and sunrises were breathtaking as we enjoyed the sounds of the many varieties birds singing the sun in and to sleep! We used all the beach gear and ice chest daily and were grateful for not needing to purchase or rent snorkel gear.We enjoyed being off the beaten path but didn’t feel the need to sight see. The younger folks in our group did the long drives to waterfalls and hikes. We in our 60s stayed closer to the house and were very enchanted by our local stops at shave ice, coffee and poke or taco trips!I would book this home again!

Beautiful, comfortable house close to the best beach on the island. Everything was perfect from the comfortable bed to the central location.

The view was breathtaking and the home was more than we expected. The beach is just a walk away. The only thing I can say is if heights may be an issue the road into the neighborhood will terrify you.

Beach House in South Captain Cook area
The house accommodated us very well for our family of seven. The views were breathtaking from the lanai and from each room! If you enjoy a quiet, remote location and having a studio suite in a lower level (with a small bathroom) that is segregated from the rest of the living area, (which was a surprise for our family), this place is for you. The beauty of the surroundings is accentuated by the steep hills surrounding the property. A true respite!

Lovely beach house
This was a lovely stay for our family. We loved ending our day of exploring with a lounge at the beach down the road.

Wonderful stay at Anji's Beach House
This house is in an amazing location and has a great layout. You will enjoy the birds, trees and iconic Hawaiin sunsets from the lanai, or down at the beach at the end of the street. The property owner is terrific as well.

Quiet and beautiful
The listing fails to adequately describe this beautiful, custom home. It’s perfect for a long stay.

Pros and Cons
Pros
The house was pretty comfortable and the location was lovely.
the beach was great
Hosts were really responsive and helpful
the beach equipment was great
Cons
Most important was critical missing information. The description of the house did not mention that there is no garbage collection or that the water in the taps is not for drinking . It meant having to drive for a while to the community spigit and manage your own garbage. Just felt it would have been great to know that when we booked the house rather than know a few days before, so we could have decided if that was something we wanted to deal with.
Poorly stocked kitchen
The house need some repair
Curtains and/or blinds would be a plus including screen on the doors hard to keep the mosquitoes out.
The studio bathroom is so small that only a small person can use it

Perfect size for our family
Beautiful home with all the necessary amenities for a very comfortable stay. The location near the beach was perfect.

Beautiful view
We stayed here in August as a family of 3 couples plus 2 singles. The size was perfect and spacious. There are 2 pull out sofas. The property manager was very communicative and helpful, the washer broke right as we were to arrive so he arranged for a neighbors that helps with property management to provide laundry service for us. Which was very kind.
A good breeze when you open all windows and doors, the ceiling fans were a bit tricky to figure out. Mosquitos will get ya so buy protection, we burned a citronella candle and another repellant incense to help.
The property has the most beautiful view of the ocean and sunsets were out of this world. There’s a black rock beach right down the hill, when it’s calm you can go for a dip just be cautious and wear water shoes. It’s about 1 hour south of kona so you have peace and quiet to hear all the beautiful nature sounds. So it’s a bit of a drive to get to shops and stuff. There’s 1 grocery store 12 miles away and a delish cafe called the coffee shack that has great food and homemade desserts (passion fruit cheesecake to die for )
There are a few resident geckos you can get to eat banana off your finger if your stealthy. And a few giant roaches that come out in the evenings that scared us, hadn’t realized Hawaii had those but of course it does!
Everything was clean, plenty of linens. Shampoo and body wash , washer and dryer. Nice big fridge. Two dining tables , one inside one out. Simple kitchen necessities to make dinners including a bbq. 1 good cast iron pan, oven pans to make a pizza.
We had an amazing time, didn’t want to leave.

Remote paradise in South Kona
We loved Anji’s Beach House! It’s just a short walk from Pebble Beach. The water can be rough, but the shoreline was a lovely place to hang out and watch the sunset. Everything we needed at the house was taken care of quickly and efficiently by the owner and property manager. It’s a 30 minute drive to get a meal, so we ate most meals at the house. There’s no AC, but nature’s crosswinds and a plethora of indoor fans worked for the low 80’s temperature. We got a portable AC for the Studio that suited that space perfectly. The owner’s hospitality makes the home a lovely getaway.

Wonderful Stay, Wonderful Host
We recently stayed a week at this cozy beach house. Located just steps away from the water, our family had a great time. The place was clean and cozy with great views, providing us with a great experience of island living. Equally as great as the property is the host. Nothing but professional and the communication was stellar. We definitely would stay again!

We watched whales off the Maki lanai this year! What a gift!
The walk to the beach takes only a few minutes and the neighborhood is very friendly.

Kona and the Pandemic
The owner was great; responded promptly to all emails. Both VRBO and Evolve were great about sending out messages and allowing changes to our booking based on the changing world of COVID-19. We had to leave a day early as everything was shutting down on Kona and back home, but had a great stay. The house was clean and comfortable. Pebble Beach was a bit rough on the feet, but snorkeling was good. Would definitely stay again when the world is back to normal and we can see the parks that were closed. Appreciated the chairs and beach towels, and the helpful house manual!

Great stay
We really enjoyed this home. It was a little farther from Captin Cook than we thought, but we managed well. Loved to walk to the ocean at night and watch the sun set. Great home for my family to play games at night. The steepness of the roads were crazy, but the van we rented did fine. I had problems with my phone/e-mail and the owner was very accommodating and sent everything to my sisters phone. Great stay and a great vacation

Quiet Paradise
The property is as described. This is the first property that came with a home manual and answered all our questions. The home has ample room and beautiful views. We spent most days out and about with a couple of trips to Hilo. It feels centrally located for day trips to all the different beaches. Pebble beach was amazing and a perfect way to either start or end the day. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly. Thank you for all the information you provided with brochures located in the home and the manual.

Amazing place for a vacation, very nice view and sunsets
We were a family of seven (4 adults and 3 children) in the house and had a very good time. The house is comfortable and perfectly located. We very much enjoyed the lanai and the view, as well as the fact that we could eat outdoor and hear the ocean at night. The owners are very responsive and were always there if we had a question or needed something. I would also mention that although we were always able to cook everything we wanted, the kitchen didn't have quite as much equipment as we would have liked for a large group. This is however only a small detail and I would highly recommend this house as we really had a wonderful time.

Great Location, great beach, fast internet
This property is AMAZING. The house is exactly the right size for either a family of four and grandparents, or a few couples. There is a separate entrance to the largest room downstairs making it feel like an extra apartment, perfect for the grand parents. The close proximity to Pebble Beach is easily walkable while carrying all your "stuff". The body boards and snorkel gear were a nice addition, we spent most mornings at the beach, and the best part; you don't bring home a bunch of sand in everything! Kitchen was fully stocked, we stopped by Costco before heading to the house and bought most groceries, but there is a sizable grocery store about 20 minutes up the road that will have everything you need. The locals kept telling us how fortunate we were to be at that location. The sunsets are beautiful from the house lanai and the beach. We will certainly be going back to this house. The property owner was very responsive when we had questions and the internet was super fast! Both my husband and I were able to work a few mornings seamlessly.
One thing to note: the road is very steep, go slow. We arrived at night and were pretty surprised by how steep it really was. However, our mini van did just fine.

Great vacation home south of Captain Cook on Big Island, Hawaii
We loved this place. Our group of 8 was really pleased with how spacious and high-end the house and its appointments were. Three bedrooms each held two people comfortably, and our two younger girls slept on the Queen size sofa-bed in the living room. One of the bedrooms is a private studio with small bathroom and shower on the lower level. The other two bedrooms are upstairs, the master bedroom having its own private bathroom. The kitchen was fully appointed with all amenities. Room to easily park two cars, and possibly even three or four, since you can drive around the back down below and park underneath the master bedroom. There is an outdoor shower under the house for after-the -beach, which is nice, since the beach is only about a 75 yards walk down the hill. Linens, towels, beach towels, & assorted snorkel gear provided. The house is part of a quiet non-commercial vacation community about 20 minutes south of Captain Cook. We loved it and highly recommend it.

Peaceful retreat for a true relaxing vacation
The location is perfect if you want to have easy access to all the attractions of the Big Island but also want the feeling of being away from the touristy hustle-bustle. We ate out on the lanai almost every night (if we were back in time) and found the local beach to be quiet and peaceful. Yes, some updates to the pots, pans and cooking utensils may be in order, but we had plenty of options and the grill was great for trying out some of the local flavor.

This place was amazing! Our entire family had a wonderful experience.
The house was clean and perfectly situated. We were surprised by how close we were to the beach, and hope beautiful the home was.

Gorgeous House, lovely view, quietly hear the ocean.
We really loved Anji's house. My wife's favorite part was waking up with the birds singing! The home is roomy and well taken care of. The views are fantastic. The beach is a short walk down the street.
You can tell how loved the house is by the small details like the custom tile work. for example there are hand made dolphins, whales, and other creatures inlaid in the tile work around the house.
The kitchen is great with a nice new gas stove and fridge to keep your ice cream in!
We look forward to going back!

Wonderful experience for 6 person family
This house was perfect for our family of 6 (six adults). The view was amazing (we saw whales from the lanai on a couple occasions. The nice breeze kept the house comfortable, especially in the morning and night (when we were actually at the property). A beautiful black sand (pebble) beach is a 5 minute walk away where you can snorkle or just enjoy a swim. The house itself is very nice, clean, and well equipped (except for maybe the kitchen, but I'll touch on that). The beds were comfortable and you could hear the ocean from each of the rooms. The neighbors were quiet and friendly. All of my correspondence with the owners was quick, respectful and helpful. It was really everything I could have wanted out of the house.
Just as an FYI for those looking at the house, it is a pretty decent distance (about 40 minutes) from Kona-Kailua, but only about 10 minutes from Captain Cook, which has a grocery store and some restaurants and such. This house is really a peaceful refuge from any hustle and bustle of the city. If that's what you are looking for, it's perfect. It's within a short drive of Kona and it's a good bit closer to the Volcano national park than Kona is (1.5 hr rather than more than 2 hr). We drove all over the island from here and really loved everything we did. One thing I would mention that I guess is a "con" is that the kitchen didn't have quite as much equipment as we would have liked. Please take this with a grain of salt, however, as our group had two chefs and it would have had to be pretty well stocked to really make us 100% satisfied. Is has a couple pots and pans and mixing bowls and plenty of silverware, so it covers the basics and would be enough for a lot of people. We ate dinner at the house almost everyday though, which I suspect may be unusual.
All-in-all we had a wonderful experience and would, without reservation, recommend this house to anyone.

Kona Paradise
Found this little piece of paradise south of Captain Cook. Great location for seeing a lot of the Big Island, from sea level to the volcano top. Great hosts, full of good advise and attentive. Welcome by the housekeepers with piña coladas. The best! Nice little beach a few blocks away, but caution, its said to be dangerous.

This is an amazing place to stay!!!
When we arrived I was very impressed with the size of the house, the location and overall quality of it. It was very clean and comfortable. The beds were very nice and everything we needed was at the residence. The maintenance guy, Larry even brought us some Pina Colada's which was very nice and welcoming. The owner, Tom was very helpful and always responded to my texts when I had questions about the area. This place is perfect for anyone wanting a nice relaxing stay in Hawaii. The residence did not have air conditioning but that was not an issue. The ceiling fans worked just fine to keep the inside cool. We are already planning our next trip to Kona and if this place is available we will be booking it again. You can't go wrong with this rental if your wanting to get away and enjoy the big island!!! Also this is a perfect place to stay if you have a party of two or eight.
