About this villa rental
Castaway villa is conveniently located in the Estate Chocolate Hole neighborhood, walking distance to the Westin Hotel and a very short drive to Cruz Bay dining and shopping. A perfect neighborhood for morning runs while enjoying the fantastic views. The villa has recently undergone major exterior renovations to the driveway, exterior lighting, salt water pool and pool deck plus all new exterior furniture. We also just completed the installation of a Tesla back up battery system in order to provide uninterrupted power during power outages. If you have stayed with us before, and we know many of you do, you'll be in for a real treat on your return! In total, the property has 3 bedroom + bath suites, plus a sleeping loft and an additional half bath, located as follows: The main villa has 2 bedroom and bathroom suites, both offering king size beds, double vanity bathrooms & private outdoor showers. One of the suites can have the king converted to two twin beds if needed. The sleeping loft is small and positioned overlooking the main living room, and has a full bed - suitable for kids. There is also a half bath in the main house. The pool cabana is home to the 3rd bedroom suite, and is located off of the pool deck. It too has a king size bed, central air, fantastic views of Hart Bay, full bathroom and a sliding glass door to a private water view deck. Both the main house and cabana offer beautiful wood plank cathedral ceilings, cool stamped concrete floors, full central air throughout including common areas, ceiling fans and fantastic ocean breezes if you prefer to have the windows open with the screens on, gorgeous turquoise water views, and a 30ft pool with large sundeck. It all works to create a space you won't want to leave!
The villa is fully equipped to make your stay as comfortable as possible. It has a fully stocked kitchen with all the kitchen gadgets so that you can cook as much (or as little) as you want! We also provide all linens, pool floats, beach towels, beach chairs, coolers, wifi, TV, cable and house phone. Washer and dryer are available for use during your stay. Nothing to bring but your clothes and sunscreen! The driveway fits 2 cars comfortably. The villa also has a new gas grill and outdoor shower for rinsing off after long days at the beach. Use the blender for frozen margaritas to sip while you float on the pool rafts and overlook the water views in Chocolate Hole.
There is a full time caretaking crew who live on St. John. They are available to answer any questions during your stay.
The location of the house is fantastic. The neighborhood is great for those who want to go for a run or morning stroll. The newly renovated Westin is nearby, with all of it's amenities. The St. John market is around the corner - not even a 2 minute drive - for any last minute food or alcohol needs! We fell in love with St. John and loved the idea of being close to Cruz Bay yet private enough to not feel the hustle and bustle.
Renting a car is strongly recommended in order to see all of the beautiful beaches the island has to offer and for trash removal, which is the responsibility of the tenants. A fee will be assessed if the caretakers have to facilitate removal. Driving is on the left side of the road and the rental companies are very good at explaining road rules, etc..
Traveler’s insurance is recommended.

We traveled to St John to celebrate two high school graduates and one new Dr. of Physical Therapy. The house was absolutely perfect! It was a perfect launch place for exploring the island and close enough to Cruz Bay for easy access to shops/restaurants. And, the pool and views were spectacular. Every aspect exceeded expectations. Castaway is even more breathtaking than the pictures. The home is truly lovely, very well stocked with anything you might need and very comfortable. I have stayed in many villas on St. John over the years and this is my favorite. I will be booking here again. It's just perfect!

We had an amazing time at this Castaway Villa. It's absolutely beautiful and is very spacious. I can't say enough about the location which is near Cruz Bay. The view from the villa was breathtaking. It was supplied with everything we needed including beach chairs, coolers, cooking utensils, beach towels, and much more. You will absolutely need a jeep to get around the island!

It was my family's first time staying at Castaway and we can't wait to return! It's a beautiful and comfortable home in a quiet neighborhood. Check-in was seamless. The owner, Todd checked in with us to make sure everything was ok and even left us some goodies to enjoy in the fridge. Well stocked kitchen, comfy beds. Our kids especially loved the pool. Loved taking in the view of the bay while having the morning coffee. Close to town, groceries, gas, etc. Would most definitely stay here again!

We booked this house for our family spring break trip. We were extremely happy that it was exactly as described and very clean! Had plenty of beach chairs, towels, and coolers to bring to the beach. The outdoor area is fantastic and you will love the sunrise and sunset views over chocolate hole. Would def stay at this house again.

We enjoyed our stay at Castaway Villa and St. John. The house was perfect for our family which included two teens. The layout was ideal. We could have included a set of grandparents. The location was great and the view was fantastic. We loved having a cup of coffee in the morning sun and enjoyed taking a cool dip in the pool after a day on one of the amazing beaches. We appreciated the afternoon shade too. The house is adorable and has everything you need to an enjoy a vacation on St. John. Check in was flawless since we followed the house manager who showed us where to go and how to access the house. We rented a jeep which was perfect for exploring the island. Overall, we had a fantastic time and would love to return to Castaway again.

This property was perfect for our 2 families with 2 kids. The teenager loved the pool house bedroom. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. We hung out most evenings by the pool, with the ocean breeze to cool us off. The location is great, near Cruz bay but out of the hustle. I’ll definitely rent this house again at our next trip to St. John!

This house is exactly as described. It’s a beautiful home in a great location, only a few minutes drive to downtown. The house is fully stocked with everything you need. We enjoyed every minute of our stay!

Great location, home and stay! Our group (my wife, 3 kids and father in law) found the place perfect for our trip. The extra bedroom/bathroom was perfect for my father in law and my 14 year old loved the loft bedroom. Close to town, beaches and restaurants. The house was just a amazing as it looks in the pictures and the owner and property management folks were really easy to work with. I've been to St John a good amount of times and this was the best rental property we've had. Will definitely book again for our next trip down!

From booking to check out we could not ask for a better experience. The house was amazing. It’s in a convenient location to Cruz Bay without feeling like you’re in the middle of town.
We would go to different beaches every morning and then spend the afternoons in the pool.
Kitchen had every tool needed for cooking.
We would definitely stay here again. Wouldn’t even look at other properties.

This property is the perfect location with perfect amenities. The pool is fabulous with the most beautiful views.
This is our 2nd time staying at this property. The owners have provided everything that you need including beach chairs, coolers etc..
The location is key close to the ferry, downtown, grocery store, and a 10 min. drive to all of the most spectacular beaches.
Excursions are also easily accessible from this property being that many of them leave from Cruz Bay/ The westin.

Highly recommend booking this house! Spacious home with a beautiful pool overlooking Chocolate Hole, great AC, less than 10 min drive from Cruz Bay + beach towels / chairs / snorkel gear included. The owner and property manager were proactive in communication and gave a walk thru of the home upon arrival, plus checked in daily to see if we needed anything. Even provided a few welcome snacks from a local market upon arrival. Would definitely book again!

This is a very nice property in a very special place. Proximity to everything is key. 15 minutes and you are at world class beaches! The pool was especially relaxing after a day exploring. Would highly recommend!

This home was gorgeous the views from the beautiful pool deck were striking. This was our first time St. John and will not be our last! The location of the property was perfect, very safe and close to everything. The house set up was perfect for our family with 3 teens everyone had there own space, it was very comfortable and clean. We loved our stay here, home owners and management group were very helpful and responsive.

This was our 6th stay at beautiful Castaway Villa which was fantastic as always, We truly appreciate the stylish house, furnishings, pool and view. The house is well-equipped with all the items one might want at the beach and during their vacation. During our stay, we did have some questions about operating the tv and were pleased with how promptly we received assistance. All in all, we had a perfect vacation!

This was our fourth time on St. John and Castaway Villa is by far the best rental home we have found. Thr owner and property manager were excellent with communication and check in and check out wad a breeze. The location in Chocolate Hole can't be beat! It was so quiet and peaceful, yet just minutes away from everything in Cruz Bay. We had an amazing vacation and will definitely be returning to Castaway Villa!

We stayed at this gorgeous property and it was an absolute dream. It was 2 couples and 2 young children. We found the home to have a great layout, all the amenities of home and well stocked. The location was ideal-easy to find and less than 10 mins from cruz bay shops and restaurants. Parking was much easier than many we have stayed in on StJ. The bedrooms are massive and we loved having 2 outdoor showers. The large pool deck was well appointed with tons of comfy seats to choose from. We love trying new Villas but something tells me we have found our new favorite! Todd was great to work with and had good communication. Highly recommend

Castaway was just as beautiful as pictured! We spent almost every day in the pool admiring the gorgeous view. The property manager and JP were super helpful and easy to communicate with via text. This villa was also ideally situated within a 5-7 min drive of everything (groceries, gas, restaurants, etc). They also provided great beach chairs, towels, and a cooler which were all great to bring on beach days! Another thing- it is NOT that easy to find rentals with a/c, and boy were we glad that this one has a/c throughout the whole place! Would 100% recommend this place and would absolutely stay again on a return visit!
