About this house rental
Beautiful romantic hideaway for two or cozy cottage for four. This is our home that we rent to new friends when we are away a week or a month. Our home is furnished in keeping with the 1920 beach cottage genre. We are located in the historic village of Corona del Mar. It is one block from Newport Bay and three blocks from the Corona Del Mar beaches, plus within walking distance of children's parks and the village restaurants. Fashion Island is just a mile away.
Our home does have a ring doorbell in the front of the house by the front door as well as two cameras. One in the front and one in the back yard for security purposes.
When guests are there the speakers are off.
This property is a restored 1927 'kit home' that you could order from the Sears catalog and construct in a weekend, of course it wasn't. It is lovely and private and has one thousand square feet with a living room, dining room, 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. The main bedroom has a queen size bed and the second bedroom has TWO twin beds. All linens are provided, with down comforters and pillows, as well as all your towels. The living room has a sofa bed.
I know you don't want to cook, but if you do, the kitchen is updated with all the modern conveniences to assist the gourmet cook in you and still has the vintage vibe. Several markets, including Bristol Farms, Trader Joe's and Pavilions are close . We have a charcoal barbecue in the front yard for private outdoor dining. The plumbing, electricity and heating are new and updated . Because of a hotter than normal summer last year, we have added Air Conditioning in the living room and both bedrooms. A front loading washer and dryer is in the garage for the use of our guests.
In case there is an allergy problem in your family , we do have down comforters and pillows, this may not be for you.....

A nice get away with my sister to a place where I used to live. We enjoyed sitting outside & took many walks. We found the best coffee place & Zinc was our favorite restaurant. The bathtub was the best & we loved using the antique stove.Certainly, a great memory!

We had a wonderful time reuniting with family in the yellow cottage. So full of of charm and a very welcoming, homey, nostalgic energy about it. Even my husband loved it, and he doesn’t like anything! Sherry is a gracious host, quick to respond and accommodating. Thank you for sharing your lovely beach home with us!

We loved our stay in the yellow cottage. Walking distance to Corona Del Mar beach, coffee shops, garden museum, mother’s grocery. Quiet neighborhood and beautiful surroundings.

CHARMING, the VRBO description is to the letter. A cozy cottage owned by your Grandma. Great kitchen and bath, comfortable beds, terrific location.

The cutest little house you could find in the area! Sherry is a wonderful landlord and incredibly knowledgeable and helpful.

We had a great and comfortable stay at the yellow cottage. We really appreciated the communication and hospitality from Sherry. We had everything we needed and really enjoyed the antique furnishings and cottage charm of this place. It was a perfect location from which to explore the OC! We enjoyed walks around the beautiful neighborhood and down to nearby Sophie's Beach, where we spotted dolphins. Thank you for sharing your cottage with us, Sherry!

The location is excellent! I lived on the same street for 20 years so we were able to return to our favorite places and eating establishments.
Five Crowns and The Quiet Woman in Corona Del Mar. las Brisas in Laguna beach on the cliffs overlooking the ocean. Garduno’s on 17th street in Costa Mesa. ( amazing Italian food!)

Wonderful place to bike and eat. We took the bikes to Balboa Island and boarded the ferry to the peninsula.
Great fun.

I'm from the state of WA. My two sisters are from Utah. We met here in this cozy and unique little yellow cottage. It was everything we could have wanted. All kinds of fun antiques to explore, along with the comforts of home. All cooking tools needed. Nice beds and great throw blankets, although the pull out couch was a little worn down and not enough toilette paper. A dining table to play games at. A table out front to sit round and enjoy the beautiful weather. Access to so much within walking distance: the beach, lots of restaurants, groceries, consignment shops, and so much more. We had a wonderful time! We loved it so much that we hope to meet here again and/or bring other family members.

We stayed from Monday - Friday and took advantage of the bikes, front porch and air conditioning. Small but cozy house. Charming with antique dark wood. Vintage stove and tiny dishwasher (so cute). Air conditioning is good. The house has everything you need and the neighbors are friendly and helpful. We’d stay there again.

The property is unique, and if you look at the pictures, and know what you are in for, you will have a wonderful stay. The shower was fabulous!
Moving the car twice due to streets weeping was a pain, since the whole neighborhood is jockeying for safe parking on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.

Loved the location, it felt safe and cozy. Was recovering from a surgery so queen bed was comfy. The other beds not so comfy for my mother and son who stayed but it was still a good deal for the price and location

We really enjoyed the location and the neighborhood. It was perfect for us. The street parking was not my favorite but you really can find a spot. Practice your parallel parking skills.

Property is just as described. Comfortable master bed and bedroom, other bedroom tiny with twin beds. Lots of antiques in the house, but also has everything you need. Owner is wonderful to communicate with by text. Very easy relaxing stay. Great neighborhood.

… you cannot beat this location. Even though parking is a bit of a nuisance since all the locals use street parking and street sweepers come twice a week. Walking distance to everything you need. The listing is right, when it says it is a cluttered house. We found there to be a lack of drawer space especially in the second bedroom. There’s more sheets and towels in the drawers than anyone would need for a year’s stay! One thing I think is important to be aware of… There is a step from the living room to the primary bedroom and even though it’s marked you kind of forget it’s there and tripping is possible. There is also a height difference in the floor between the kitchen and living room, which is also trip worthy. (There is “higher” flooring in the kitchen than the living room creating a “step”). Anyone using a cane, walker, or anyone with physical imbalance, may find that hard to navigate.

Sherry was available and helpful throughout our stay. The property is as advertised, in fact even better. Wonderful location for short walk to the beach or to restaurants and shops. We loved it and will be back for sure.

Very quiet street. It’s a nice cottage with great outdoor space. The neighbors were friendly too. Cottage was clean and well stocked. Walking distance to the beach and restaurants.
It was warm when we went. The air conditioners were great., since most houses don’t have it was a huge bonus.

We LOVED it. The cottage was beautiful, warm, and inviting, and close to everything you needed including beaches and restaurants. We will miss the relaxing evenings on the patio during sunset amongst many other things. Thank you for sharing your family home with my family.
