About this cottage rental
The cottage is located in a small village just across the Neuse River from downtown New Bern. Just down the street is the new Bridgetown Harbor Marina. This cozy home was built in the 1950's and has been updated with all modern amenities. It has been decorated in a 'shabby chic' beach theme. You can enjoy a sun porch with a Nags Head hammock porch swing and rocking chairs. Perfect for relaxing, reading a good book or listening to music.
You are within walking distance of the river or you can use one of the bikes provided. There are 2 kayaks available.You will find a covered back deck with picnic table and gas grill to cook your evening meals. Inside, the home has 2 large bedrooms, one with a queen bed and one with a full and twin bed. Each bedroom offers TV connected to satellite. You will find 2 full baths, a fully equipped kitchen with stove, frig, microwave and dishwasher. The kitchen also offers a breakfast bar where you can eat as well.
There is a beautiful dining room for more 'formal' dining with an adjoining living room. The living area also has a flat screen TV for your viewing pleasure. Linens are provided or you may bring your own. There is a washer and dryer available just off of the kitchen. You can also use the office area complete with desk and bookshelves. WiFi can be accessed.
Just across the bridge you can visit historic downtown New Bern where you will find shops, restaurants, marinas and parks. Be sure to check out all the Bears around the city. It is only a 30 min drive to Atlantic Beach and 1 hour from Cape Lookout. An information packet will be available upon arrival to tell you where the many local attractions can be found.
We have done a number of renovations including new LVP flooring in the dining and living rooms, new siding and roof, new shed roof and additional landscaping. The kitchen has new cabinets and granite countertops. Updates occur on a regular basis.

This little house was just great. The layout and fenced in yard were perfect for me and my family. We were close enough to downtown New Bern, but far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet. 10/10!!

We brought our dogs on the trip and from the pictures I couldn't tell if the yard was fully enclosed. It definitely was, which was perfect! Also the back deck is a great hangout spot. Has a massive fan that keeps you cool and the mosquitos away.

This place was awesome! And super close to our family who had just moved to the area. We have 2 dogs and they were very comfortable and the yard was great for them! Super close walk to an adorable little park too! And very close to downtown new Bern! When we come back we want to stay here again!

We have been wanting to visit New Bern and we found this place it was clean and comfortable. We stayed out back on the porch with the fan blowing and just relaxing. It was a short walk to the water and enjoyed the cool air blowing on us.

We have a great 3 night stay in this cute home just a few miles outside of New Bern. Perfectly situated for our needs. A wonderful home to stay in. Highly recommended.

We were in town to visit family nearby, so it was a perfect spot for our needs. House was clean and well equipped, had everything we needed. Beds were very comfortable, loved having a recliner in the living room to relax in after a long day at the NC Seafood Festival. Had no issues during our stay, so didn't have to contact the owners, which is a good thing. All in all, would definitely stay again.

My Mom and I take a trip to this area twice a year to visit all the fun antique stores and eat at our favorite restaurants! We truly loved staying at this cottage in Bridgeton. The house was roomy and we loved having two bathrooms. The couch was so comfy for watching TV after a long day of exploring. The kitchen was well stocked and we enjoyed our morning coffee on the front porch. The beds were comfy too. The neighborhood of historic houses was so quaint and we enjoyed our morning walks along the sidewalks. The lovely view of the river was also nice. We hope to stay again in December!

Started mornings with coffee relaxing on the front porch. Nicely decorated Craftsman in peaceful neighborhood. Back porch with fenced in yard fully appreciated as we had our grandpup with us. I loved using one of the bikes to pedal to family member’s house. Owner quickly responsive and friendly. Bridgeton is a cool small town on the water which the photographer in the family took to full advantage.

3 days of rain but still good--we've been to New Bern many times and know this location is convenient to DT and other day trip locations. The fenced yard, covered deck were ideal for both us and our small dog, very nice kitchen with everything provided and more.

This house was perfect for my husband, our 2 dogs & me. It is in a very quiet little neighborhood an easy 10 minute drive into New Bern. The owner has it completely stocked with all the basics you could possibly need & some not so basics (thanks for the wine). The kitchen has everything you need for cooking, including a large selection of spices, cooking spray, oils, etc.
Because of the dogs we really appreciated the fenced in yard. We also loved the little park across the street. It has a gazebo looking out to the river with a beautiful view. We went over three nights with a bottle of wine & enjoyed the gorgeous sunsets.
We had one small issue with a circuit breaker tripping for the range & Mickey had it fixed within an hour. We would definitely book this house again - maybe next year for the ghost tour.

This cottage’s exterior was freshly painted and had everything one could want in ample supply. The renovated kitchen and larger bathroom were nicely done and clean. The back porch furniture needed cleaning and a new tablecloth. The wall to wall carpeting was showing its age. Though there were some charming decorative touches, the cottage was overwhelmed with the number of Knick knacks on every surface. We were grateful for the fenced yard for our dog and the nearby riverside park.

The house was clean and private with good off street parking. Everything worked well, and the neighbors where wonderful. We wanted for nothing. Bridgeton is a quite sleepy town with quick access to New Bern’s down town and shopping districts.

The cottage was very nice and comfortable. It was well stocked and had everything you could possibly need. Very close to New Bern , just a short drive across the river. Communication with property owner was great . We would consider staying here again if we are in the area. June 2022

Our family enjoyed our trip to New Bern/Bridgeton. The trip to downtown New Bern was easy and the town has a lot to offer. We also enjoyed spending quiet time at the house. It has all of the amenities that you would have at home.

The house was exactly as advertised and very well appointed. Communication was great. A short drive of less than 10 minutes to downtown New Bern. The dogs loved the fenced in backyard and it was so nice to have. Great place and I would definitely stay here again.

This is a well loved and cared for home. My husband and I and our small dog traveled with another couple and were very happy with our accommodations. Everything was as described and much more. This house is nestled in a very safe and quiet neighborhood. Our dog enjoyed walking the neighborhood and playing in the yard at the home. The weather was unseasonably warm and we were able to enjoy eating outside under the porch and grilling. It is just over the bridge from New Bern and it is an easy drive. We all agreed that our experience here was wonderful and it allowed us to really be able to spend time together and was so much better than staying in a hotel. We would definitely stay here again!
