About this house rental
This recently refurbished, luxury boutique style villa is located on the outskirts of the village of Kolymbia - which is halfway between Rhodes Town and Lindos. This makes it the perfect villa - whether you want to laze in the generous garden with stunning mountain views, or if you want to use the villa as a base to explore the beautiful island of Rhodes!
The villa has 3 bedrooms (1 king, 1 double and 1 twin), accommodates up to 6 people, and has a spacious garden and private pool.
The front door leads into the large living room with TV, radio/CD player (with aux cable for smartphone/iPod use) and beautiful new furniture. The TV is a smart TV which is linked to the internet, so streaming is available. There are 3 sets of double doors that open from the living room onto their own patios. On the ground floor is a bathroom with shower, WC, fitted washbasin and mirror. The well-appointed kitchen includes oven, hob and extractor hood, fridge freezer, microwave and various small appliances. (It is well stocked with utensils, crockery, cutlery and glasses etc). There is a dining table to seat 6 people in the kitchen or you may wish to choose alfresco dining on the 2 covered patios.
Bedroom 1 has a king size bed and large wardrobes, bedside tables, lamps along with a dressing table, chair and mirror. There are French doors which lead onto the balcony, from which you can just see the sea over the trees.
Bedroom 2 has a double bed with 1 bedside table, wardrobe, dressing table drawer unit, chair and mirror. It also leads onto a separate balcony through the French doors which is shared with Bedroom 3. The views from the balcony are beautiful.
Bedroom 3 has twin beds, wardrobe, dressing table drawer unit, chair and mirror. All rooms have air conditioning/heating units.
The villa is built to high (Greek) specification with air con/heating units. It has its own private garden with pool and spectacular panoramic views. (Please note it is not law to have a fence around a pool in Greece so you will notice most pools are open. You may wish to bear this in mind if you have children). There is also a laundry room with washing machine.
NB
* There is a £100 check out/cleaning deposit which will be refunded once our checks are complete (7 days).
* A baby cot & high chair are available if required.
* The villa is not directly in a village so CAR HIRE is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. There is, however, a small supermarket, a cafe and three restaurants within a 10 minute walking distance from the villa. There are many places to visit so you definitely need a car if you want to make the most of the island.
The nearest village is Kolymbia which is a 5 minute drive/30 minute leisurely stroll away. It is a lovely Greek village with plenty of restaurants and bars to frequent. If you fancy a walk in the evening, take a torch with you as the road is quite dark. In front of the house there is a dried river bed which you can walk to Kolymbia beach on, but bear in mind there is no shade, so don't walk in the midday sun.
The village of Afandou is a 10 minute drive towards Rhodes Town. It is a traditional working Greek village and there are plenty of restaurants, and bars to try.
For the more lively, the town of Faliraki is a 15 minute drive away. During the daytime it's a nice place to go to for the beach or to eat in one of the seafront restaurants. At night, it is busy. If you like the fun fair, lots of bars, people, loud music, & dancing, then this is the place for you.

Overall we had a very good stay in Rhodes despite the worries of the unfortunate wildfires. It didn't impact our stay directly but we decided to spend more time at the villa and not travel around as we had originally intended. Luckily the villa is so lovely, especially having a pool to cool off in from the hot sun, that it was still very enjoyable and relaxing.
We had a couple of issues but these were dealt with quickly by the host. Spiros was very helpful and was very keen to make sure we were happy.
We really appreciated being able to check in early and out late to accommodate our flight times.
We would totally recommend staying here.

Four of us had a wonderful holiday in Villa Zeus and we were very sorry to have to come home. The villa itself is very comfortable, the pool is wonderful and the major attractions of the island are within easy driving distance, due to its central position on the Island.
The villa more than adequately met our needs for cooking and eating, sleeping, storage of clothes and belongings, washing (ourselves and clothing), grooming and relaxing. Car parking is no problem. We ate on the table on the terrace, with views of the pool and gardens and the mountains beyond. The trees and shrubs surrounding the property give privacy and a feeling of seclusion. The welcome pack was extremely useful upon arrival.
The pool is lovely and very well maintained, as are the gardens. At night the pool lights change colour. This adds a magical quality to a dip after dark. The air conditioning is very effective. The guy who maintains the property, Spiros, is extremely approachable and accessible. We had a problem with one of the air conditioning units being noisy; it was fixed the following day.
The local resort of Kolymbia has lots of gift, souvenir and clothes shops and bars, cafes. My wife and daughter came away with some lovely clothes and jewellery, at reasonable prices. We went to some good restaurants; one on the main road, To Kantouni, a ten minute walk away, and, another on a beautiful beach in Kolymbia, To Nassaki, a fifteen minute drive.
We spent every other day by the pool and came home very brown and relaxed. On the intervening days we visited Butterfly Valley, Rhodes Old town, the classical ruins at Kamiros, Katinia Castle, Rhodes New Town and Lindos, all of which were hugely pleasurable. None of these trips took us more than fifty minutes in the car.
I am a keen wildlife enthusiast and on walks in the countryside around the villa, I saw a Booted Eagle, some Red-backed Shrikes, Bee-eaters, Kentish Plovers and the most enormous hare I’ve ever seen. At the side of the road, opposite the villa, there are wild herbs, including Thyme, Sage and Marjoram.
The local supermarket is well stocked and only a five-minute drive away. The bulk of our shopping we did in Lidl (20 minutes away), which is on the outskirts of, and on the main road to Rhodes town.
All in all, Villa Zeus served us proud, meeting our holiday needs and enabling us to come away feeling that we had had a truly wonderful holiday, which, after two Covid cancellations, was just what we wanted.
