This charming log cabin on Flathead Lake is located on the east lakeshore of Flathead Lake in northwestern Montana. The views from the dock are spectacular of both the lake and the surrounding mountains. Flathead Lake is the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi. It covers over 191 square miles with depths over 380 ft. and is one of the cleanest lakes in the world. The cabin sleep 10 people. Swimming, fishing and boating available off of the dock.

The town of Bigfork is a picturesque and charming place. World class art galleries, fine restaurants, a 27-hole golf course, live theatre and unique shops can all be found within a quaint Western setting. Located near by, Glacier National Park, the Bob Marshall and the Swan Wilderness areas are full of wildlife and offer endless recreational opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts. Bigfork offers you and your family a part of the West that you will never forget. Many hiking trails are close by the property. The property is split by the highway.

Perfect, cozy, comfortable Montana cabin. Starting a real fire in a fireplace seems to be an anomaly today. Our family of 10 enjoyed our time together around a cozy fire every evening. I would definitely reserve this cabin again!

We had a great weekend with our friends. The walk down to the lake and across the highway was a little unexpected. One of our members has some mobility constraints, and the walk down was too steep for him to get to the dock.

Great location, beautiful home, excellent price. Just don't plan on being inside the house between noon and dusk. The house faces west with it's beautiful A frame windows which is probably not an issue most of the year but in the summer this means lots of heat. The entire house has a single window unit next to the stairs which is wholly inadequate to keep the place cool. It routinely was in the high 80s mid afternoon through dusk which only got worse if we needed to cook. We opened every window in the house as soon as the sun set and cranked all the fans to 11 but most nights we fell asleep in 80 degree heat. If they add more window units (especially upstairs in the loft) this place would be an easy 10/10. Until then it's a 7.

We are really glad we stayed here! Host Leesa was kind, responsive and professional. The house had an adequate supply of bath & beach towels, and kitchen had plenty of spices, oil & cooking utensils. Everything was fresh and clean upon arrival. The rooms and beds were comfortable. The sitting areas are cozy and comfortable. The deck facing the lake was nice to watch the sunset. The house has only one a/c unit but they provided plenty of floor fans to keep the air circulating. The dock and access to the water was a short walk across the highway and down a small hill - this was manageable for us with older kids but I can see how it might be challenging for those w smaller kids or elderly. Very nice property - would stay here again.

Loved this cabin! Large enough to fit our annual girls trip to Flathead Lake and had everything we needed! One thing to be aware of: the A/C is a window unit, but the weather cools off at night and there's plenty of fans to keep the house cool! Loved having water access- just a short walk down to the dock. We'll be back next year!

Whispering Pines was a perfect setting for our family vacation. We were happy to see all of the necessities since the majority of us flew to Missoula so we did not have to do much shopping once we arrived. Convenient locations between Polson and Big Fork and easy commute to Glacier National Park.

This was our second visit. Flathead Lake can’t be beat. We had a great time until after we checked out we were accused of stealing beach towels. I offered photos to prove the towels we used but it wasn’t accepted. We pride ourselves on being excellent VRBO guests. I vacuumed, put pillows back, cleaned counters. started laundry, ran the dishwasher. Does this sound like someone who would steal towels? I’m frustrated. I get some people might do this, but that’s not us!! You better take photographs of the inside of the house before and after so it doesn’t happen to you.

We stayed in the cabin for the entire last week of July 2022. It truly had everything we could have wanted. The beds were comfortable, the loft let the tween cousins all room together, the dock was absolutely ideal (fair warning. It’s on the other side of the road but easy to get to and well worth the little walk). Communication was fantastic. We would definitely stay again without a moments hesitation.

The property was great for our large group. It was easy to rent and the owner answered questions in a timely manner. The walk to the lake is not bad and the private dock is large and in nice condition. The highway you have to cross to get to the lake has very fast traffic!!! Over awesome stay though!!! Thank you 😊

My family had a wonderful time in Polson. The cabin was well equipped and had the cabin feel I was looking for. I do want to say this cabin was NOT on Flathead Lake. The dock that the owner owns is across the street (a busy 60mph road). I honestly was a little upset as I thought the dock was on the same property of the house. I also wrote the host on July 3rd to ask a question and still haven’t a response. Outside of that we enjoyed the place. I only wish the wording was accurate on the description.

Stayed here with family for four days. It was the prefect location for everything we wanted to do and the cabin was awesome. It has everything you need if you want to cook your own dinners. It’s tucked off the highway so we didn’t hear any road noises and just a brief walk to the water. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a a true log cabin experience.

The place was perfect and quite clean. Kitchen was very well equipped. Communication with host was on the point and check in, check out procedures/ expectations were quite clearly laid out. The damage deposit expected was on the high side. We we t gor the insurance option. The property is right on the highway, yet not visible from the highway. We were a party of 7, including 3 kids and the attic space was perfect for kids. Only a couple of small recommendations, vents in both the bathrooms were not functional/ not there. Also since we checked in after dark, some more outdoor lights would have been convenient. Overall, a good experience!

We had a wonderful time at this cabin!! There was plenty of room for our group, the beds were so comfortable and the kitchen was very well equipped with everything that we needed. The only downsides were that it was quite difficult to get up the driveway, one of our vehicles couldn’t make it up and had to park at the bottom, and it’s a bit of a drive to get to any town. My kids were getting a little stir crazy to get out and do things. You just have to be well prepared with what you need for groceries and have a lot of activities. Overall, we had a great stay and will come back again!

We really liked the cabin. The loft area was great for the kids. The living area was a little cramped for the whole group but there was a sitting area downstairs as well. The kitchenette downstairs was nice as I needed to do a little work while I was there and it was a quite private area. The shower head downstairs could be better. The outside lights were burned out downstairs and the lower bath fan does not work. I didn't receive the code to get in but the host answered immediately when I called and got us in. The only real negative was regarding the checkout instructions. The host wanted the dishes cleaned and put away. Most just want them in the dishwasher and started. They also asked for us to start the load of towels. The biggest problem was the threat of a $100 fine for being out one minute late and $500 for being over 15mins late. This seems excessive. I understand that some may rudely overstay and this may make it difficult. That having been said I would recommend a stay here.
