Overall we enjoyed the cottage because the location was incredible and the air conditioning was great on a hot weekend. Beds were comfortable and the screened in porch was enjoyable. The antique furnishings and decor was cozy! We had a two year old sleep in the children’s cot in the second bedroom and used towels to cover the windows. Primary bedroom was very nice!
Unfortunately we were visiting during a storm and the ants were EVERYWHERE. We couldn’t leave anything or dishes on the counter because the ants would swarm. We had to throw away a bunch of our new groceries. There was also a bunch of nails on the back patio (probably from the housework Nextdoor).
Overall, we really did like the property! Just some cleanliness issues. We would return for sure due to the location!

Had a wonderful time. This home was just perfect for us. Great location and charming. Would definitely stay here again

The house looked better than the pictures. It was very cozy and had everything we needed. It’s probably the best location for walking around town. Water pressure in the shower was decent, and the beds were comfortable.

The location and proximity of the home was exactly what we had hoped for.
The home felt like a handyman special and work was needed in every room. Rotten walls from water damaged, Windows’s closed and secured with zip ties, closets that we could not hang clothes because of other items thrown around. Seating in most rooms were not ideal and seemed more like an antique store than a place to relax.
I will say the Owner communicates well and provides the basics. The stay was great but will not stay here again due to updates and cleanliness.

Property is an historic small house billed as "you can walk to anywhere in St Michaels", and you can--easily. It's located in a very quiet area a couple of blocks from the harbor. It's near the corner of Locust and Carpenter (two very quiet side streets) that is labeled "Hell's Crossing" on the locally provided street map. There is an interesting story about that dating from the 1800's.
The house is very nicely maintained and furnished in colonial period style. It's ideal for a couple, or a couple with two children. It might be too small for multiple families.
The only suggested improvement I would make is to provide a non-skid bath mat for the tub. It has a non-slip surface, but it's still a little slippery--especially for us older folks

We enjoyed our a long weekend in this historic cottage.it is located on a street that we have frequently walked over the past 15 years - we’ve always been curious about this row of homes. We loved all of the antiques and decor. We enjoyed sitting on the shaded screened in porch during the hot days, along with our Boston Terrier and another set of friends.
The location is perfect, 1 block from the Main Street and about 1/2 block from the harbor and park.. We received the perfect amount of communication from the owner. We would book with them again.

The property is beautiful and very well appointed. The location is perfect for walking to anywhere in town and is just a few steps to the water. There are plenty of places to walk your dog very close to the house. The host, Tom, was very friendly and easy to work with.
The only issues we had were the construction noise early in the morning from the house next to ours and an issue with ants in the kitchen. Otherwise, we absolutely enjoyed our stay and would stay there again. We would recommend this house to a couple or small family.

We enjoyed the stay. Beautiful place. Right near the harbor because we came in by boat so only a short walk was very convenient.

Tom’s home is meticulously restored and totally convenient to Talbot Street and the harbor. He was completely responsive to my questions and helpful to decision making regarding the stay. Wonderful experience and will return!

Great location and a lovely place to stay. It lacks a bit in terms of cooking, no oil or spices, but that is about the only problem that I found.
Water pressure is fine, the beds are comfortable, the house is cozy and the communication is easy. This is a great option when staying in St M.

Thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay in St Michael’s. Clean and well appointed house. We only have two concerns: mattresses need to be replaced and second bedroom needs window coverings. You cannot beat the location.

The location was very nice, as for the house, we encountered aunts and squirrels possibly in the house wall since there was scratching etc. at night.
One of the second floor bedroom floors was so old you could see through the large cracks in the floor and it felt insecure to walk on so I never used that bedroom.
This left just one bedroom and a sofa in the family room area to sleep on.
We found aunts in the first level powder room and in the kitchen.
when I opened the lower level kitchen cabinets, I noticed crumbs of old food etc., so I think this may have been the attraction.
Because of all of these issues, we felt totally uncomfortable so my guest that had arrived on Saturday at I:00 and left the next morning, Sunday.
I left Sunday at 2:00, so I basically left almost one day early.
I loved St. Michaels, but could not recommend this rental.
There are much nicer places to stay that don't have ants, squirrels, and are much cleaner.
I hope the owner cleans up his place for others to come.
I also hope that VRBO makes sure his property is safe: the second floor bedroom floor that has loose and unsupported floor boards with open cracks in between, you can actually see down to the lower floor.
It was so bad that my guest asked me if I signed a waiver.
That says a lot.
Regards,
SB

Awesome decor, clean, and fully equipped home. Just 1 block walk to center of town with shops, bars, and restaurants. Nice screened in porch on a quiet backyard.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was just a short walk to the water and to all of the shops & restaurants in town. Theo's and Limoncello are fantastic. We love historic homes and this one was absolutely beautiful.

The location is incredible & the house is nice BUT there is construction next store so unless you want to get up before 8am on vacation, hear loud construction including machinery and asked to move your car to public parking lot - out of the driveway - its not the place for you. I really feel people should be made aware of this. Also there is 1.5 baths not 2.0 as listed in the top summary. AFTER the house next store (same owner by the way as this rental) is restored then I would recommend staying.

The pictures don’t do this house justice. It was spacious, cute and comfortable for a group of 5. The location was in walking distance to everything. The house was the highlight of our weekend in St.Michael’s.

Best Location in St Michaels !

A charming place to stay
Located on an amazingly quaint street, this beautiful and historic house is close to everything. Half block to a park on the harbor (where we enjoyed our morning coffee), one block to main street (plenty of interesting shops, restaurants, and ice cream!), a short walk to the Maritime Museum (fabulous). We enjoyed using the bikes the owner provides to explore the town and the bike path. The screen porch was wonderful for evening meals. We had a bit of a hiccup with incomplete cleaning in a bathroom, but the owner made it all right with a quick response. He seems to be on top of things, so I imagine it will not be an issue for future guests. We greatly enjoyed the house, and you cannot beat the location.

Fantastic Historic Home
We loved this property! The location is fantastic, in the historic old neighborhood and 2-3 minute walk to a number of restaurants on the water, or more on the Main Street. The house has been beautifully and accurately restored and furnished, with modern kitchen and baths (and good wifi). Nice screened porch and spacious back yard. Loved that it has two bikes to explore the area. Thomas was very responsive. This house is a real find!
