About this house rental
This is what they’re saying: “What a beautiful home!” “Amazing experience here. The amenities were incredible, the house beautiful - we couldn’t have asked for a better place ... for a family reunion ... and wedding.” “Awesome place to relax and enjoy some quiet in a beautiful house.” “Thank you for such a wonderful place that allowed for life memories to happen for all of us.”
Welcome to The King’s Gathering at Ellis Cove, a custom-built five bedroom, four bathroom craftsman home with modern conveniences combines rustic charm with contemporary comfort. Our home gives our guests access to over 700 feet on the Salmon River. For anglers, our stretch sits between two of the best fishing holes - Wire Hole and Ellis Cove - for salmon and steelhead fishing!
Host up to 12 people our vacation home with 800 sq. ft. additional covered outdoor space. It's perfect for connecting and making memories. Have a larger group? Book our other cabin (VRBO 580833) and between the two you can host up to 24 people like we do for Thanksgiving! Whether your passion is fishing, hiking, kayaking, snowmobiling, riding ATVs (minutes to trailheads), or cross-country skiing, you are never far from the action.
The heart of our home is a two-story great room with views of lush greenery and the wetlands bordering the Salmon River. For the foodies, our fully equipped kitchen or outdoor park-style grill is perfect. Finish your day sharing stories around the wood burning fireplace, lounging in the loft, or out by the fire pit.
On the main level, sleep up to four in two bedrooms: one king bed with full bath and soak-in tub and a queen bed adjacent to bathroom. Upstairs are a bathroom with two bedrooms to sleep up to four on two twin beds and one king bed. In the basement, you can sleep up to six with two bunkbeds (each a twin over queen bed). We also have two workstations if you need to finish up work.
The basement was designed primarily as a staging area for anglers. Equipped with rod holders, wader hooks, and corker mats, it is the perfect place to gear up in comfort during cold days. Rod holders are also available underneath the deck.
To help simplify your stay, we provide bed & bath linens, pots & pans, dishes/glasses/utensils. We use down-alternative duvets to reduce environmental allergens. As such, no animals are permitted and we are smoke-free.

Very nice place. The host where very professional and helpful. I booked the house again for the next year.

Great place to stay. Plenty of room, great deck to hang out on. Close to salmon River. Hiking, beach, fish Lake Ontario.

We had five adults stay at the house, but the place could have easily accommodated several more. We stayed for three nights, and all really enjoyed the house. The host was very helpful and checked in to make sure all our needs were met.
The house was in a quiet street and it very to use the door entry code. The bedrooms were spacious, and the beds were very comfortable. Each of the three levels were well equipped for relaxing, reading, or watching TV. The place seemed huge, and amount of space was more than we could use!
We stayed in and cooked our meals each night, and the house was clean and well equipped for our needs. In the kitchen, all the appliances were modern and worked well. There was also plenty of cookware and serving ware (plates, glasses, bowls, etc.) – which is always a big plus. We used the charcoal grill one of the nights, and it was clean and easy to use.
The backyard was lovely, and you could hear the river from the deck. There was even a path to walk down to the river and fish or site on the shore. We used the firepit each night and the firewood was well stocked.
Our group is already planning to come back!

The property was beautiful and the house was very nice and had everything we needed. But the house was noisy because when we went to bed in the master bedroom we could hear the kids in the bunk room clear as day . The pathway to the river was overgrown.

We had plenty of room and convenient location.

Went four wheeling all over! Stayed there last year. Large areas to eat and hang out! Close to lots of trails and bars/restaurants!

Just as described, beautiful home and yard, perfect for our family reunion weekend! Would highly recommend for large group gatherings.

This was a beautiful home, perfect for an extended family getaway to view the solar eclipse. Especially loved having 3 levels of rooms and bedrooms for a variety of families and ages to stay in. Only suggestion is to bring or provide more tvs, we used the one in the basement for family viewing of the NCAA tournament, and brought another 2 so we had one on each level for different interests and age levels to watch at night. Also loved the outdoor fire pit and trail to the river. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

The location of the property was great for us. We had hoped to cross-country ski but the weather did not cooperate to permit us to do that. However, we were able to hike at several places around the area and had a nice time.

Good time with family and friends. Lovely house with accommodations as described. Beautiful walk to the river in the snow and fun sledding and snowmobiling. Dust bunnies under the furniture need to be removed.

This house was perfect for our visit we had with old friends, & to celebrate a birthday. We were there right before the salmon run, so it was a busier time for the area, but still very quiet, with beautiful farmland all around. We would definitely stay here again. The house is spacious, and very comfortable.

The home and area are great. It was perfect for our needs and close to Mexico for our fishing charter. We were able to go to a couple of flea markets close by. Would definitely stay again.

Thank you so much, Henry and Linda, for sharing your incredible home! We were pleasantly surprised at how beautifully designed and comfortable this rental was for our family. It was accommodating for a range of needs and the owners were extremely easy to work with. The views were lovely, and it was very convenient to both the river and beach as well. Excellent stay! We hope to be back again. (And also Janine says hi- God is good) ;)

There is plenty of room for a large family. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen well stocked. The deck is great for spending time outside.
If you're adventurous, try Adirondack River Outfitters whitewater rafting in Watertown. It's a wild ride.

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful home! We are a family that loves to cook and found the kitchen well stocked. Evenings on the back porch were wonderful. Everything about this home was well thought out. Communication with the owners was easy and they were very responsive. Will definitely look for this property’s availability for next years reunion.

It’s a beautiful large and welcoming house. My family enjoyed our stay. I would greatly recommend it to others. The host is very responsive and made sure we have everything we needed.

Our first time staying the in the area and we truly enjoyed it. The home and location were wonderful. Communication was great with the owner. The only negative we have about the home was the cleanliness. It did not appear as though it had been recently cleaned. We spent about an hour vacuuming the floors and wiping dust off the counters, tables, etc. We also washed several sets of sheets because beds looked like they had been laid/slept in.

Any fisherman and his or her family would love staying in this cabin-inspired quiet retreat from its well appointed furnishings, to its many comfort zones throughout for unwinding, this home exceeded my expectations for our family of 14 who traveled to Syracuse for my son’s graduation from S. U. (Go Orange!). We stayed at the aptly named The Kings Gathering at Ellis Cove where we broke bread cooking indoors and out on the grill enjoying each other’s company and relaxed outside by the fire pit before retreating to our fish-named bedrooms with the youngest members staying in the perfectly accommodating bunk room on the bottom floor. A short walk through the property’s backyard forest made for little adventures to the salmon river during our weeklong stay and even though we didn’t get to see any fish as they don’t run during the month of May, it was nice just to take a stroll on the riverbank and gaze at the flow of the waters which will eventually be teaming with the Kings and their other freshwater counterparts. I look forward to the day I can return to try and fish for them. All in all, the home is spectacular and the hosts Henry and Linda are very unselfish to share it with others to enjoy. Communication with Henry via VRBO’s messaging system was excellent and timely. The only thing that needs attention for future guests inside the home is the cleaning of the ceiling fan blades in the upstairs bedrooms which have accumulated dust on their leading edges as well as the sweep-up of dust devils that seem to gather about some areas of the floor and baseboards. That is the reason why I didn’t give it a full star rating in cleanliness but other than that, this property checked all the boxes of a perfect home in upstate N.Y. away from city noise and traffic where the soothing sounds of wild birds will take you away.

Super house and location, great house and amenities. Water pressure is poor, perhaps the water tank is flat and needs to be pressurized.

Accommodations were very good for our large group of family and friends. Enjoyed our evening out at the fire pit and our walks to the river. Unfortunately this winter didn’t cooperate for snowmobiling however the house is set up very well for our next snowmobile trip.

Steelhead fishing headquarters. Short walk to the river, house is spacious and clean. Henry is great to communicate with. Would highly recommend this property.

We have stayed here in both the summer and winter. Both times of year the house was excellent, each offering a different experience of the river, use of spaces in/out of the house, and local activities. Would stay again.

We had a wonderful time! Even though the snow was starting to melt there was enough for our Florida kids to be happy. There was lots of firewood prepared, salt for the steps and other little things to make it a great trip. Everyone had a space and privacy. Only thing we would change would be more pillows. A few in our group are pillow hogs lol

Great place for annual steelhead trip. River access and the house is first rate

Our stay was delightful. We had the best time at this beautiful gem.
From the trail to the river to every detail in the property was beautiful.
This is a highly recommended spot to get away with family and friends.
The only issue, is that once these great reviews start climbing, that we won’t get a many chances to stay there again as it would constantly get booked!
Thanks for giving us an opportunity to stay at your property. Will be looking to go again in near future.

Our family hadn’t been together on a vacation since 2019. We searched for a property that could house the 7 of us comfortably, and also provide a balance between social spaces and quiet spaces. This was 100% perfect for us. We each spent a great deal of time simply relaxing, while also enjoying wonderful family meals, games and talks. What a blessing that these hosts have made this home available! We loved our Altmar experience at The King’s Gathering!

The house we rented was absolutely wonderful! We wanted for nothing as far as furnishings went. And the view from our deck was superb. Our family had a fantastic time catching up, playing games and enjoying each other’s company. It was a grand vacation!

Great place for a retreat!
We loved every minute of our stay: the quiet neighborhood, the various sitting areas (outside porch, loft, living room, dining room, basement family room, and although we didn't use it, the outdoor fire pit!), all of the amenities for cooking! Highly recommend!

Everything we hoped for
Had a family gathering for memorials for 3 family members that passed away during the last 2 years.Because of covid we were hesitant to gather family from all over the country.the accommodation s were impeccable and we were able to celebrate people and reconnect in the most soothing atmosphere. The weekend couldn't have ben
better to give my family the closure we so needed.
