Only a few miles from El Valle, this property has been designed and planted for birdwatchers. Marcela and Aldofo were so friendly and hospitable. They both speak perfect English and have poured their heart and soul into making the property attractive and comfortable. A dozen eggs from their chickens was welcoming gift. The home is very clean - the kitchen was spotless and well equipped. Your hosts live a short distance away and are always ready to help if needed but will not bother you if you want to be left alone. Yes, this time of year can be windy but it’s windy all over the country so don’t be dissuaded by that. We saw about 40-50 different birds during our 7 day stay. This time of year - the dry season - when the gardener would set the sprinkler on the grounds in the late afternoon, the birds just went nuts romping through the bushes getting wet. We were there during Carnival and there was some distant noise but not too bad. Town is close enough to visit multiple times a day if needed for fresh fruits and vegetables. Our thanks to our hosts who were both a wealth of information about Panamá and the región. They exhibited the wonderful warmth and friendly nature of Panamanians that we’ve come to love.

Valle de Antón is a great small town with numerous options fo sightseeing and restaurants. The house is located about 5 mins to town or 22 kms. down a very winding narrow road with no shoulders to highway 1 where you can reach playa sant Clara within. 10-15 minutes. Marcella and Adolfo are very nice and she was very quick to respond to any issues. Their caretaker Ivan also was very helpful. The home is subject to extreme high winds and made sitting outside at night impossible.

This house was perfect for our family of 4. The kids enjoyed sleeping in the upstairs loft. The house is located on a very well taken care of plot of land with chickens, bunnies, birds, hammock, etc. There is no A/C but it was not needed for us as it is cool enough outside in that area. The owners are very nice, easy to communicate with and willing to help with the itinerary. There were extra linens which was helpful. Everything was working property in the house. The kitchen was nice but keep in mind that it did not come with any supplies, so bring your own things like paper towels, dish sponge/soap, coffee, laundry detergent, etc. It is only 10-15 min drive to most activities and restaurants in El Valle. I would definitely recommend staying here.

This is truly a place to relax and unwind surrounded by incredible beauty. The home is charming, cheery, and comfortable with all the necessary amenities. What a treat to wake up to the sun coming up over the mountains and to sit on the patio with our coffee and listen to the birds sing as we soaked in the magnificent, well-chosen trees, shrubs, and flowers that surround this home. Wow! Walking through the garden paths after breakfast was also such a pleasure.
We loved the town of El Valle, a convenient five-minute drive away. We enjoyed the market, some of the restaurants, and exploring the surrounding area. Such incredible and breathtaking beauty!
Thank you Marcela and Adolfo for a really special three days at your peaceful paradise and for your very warm and kind hospitality. You are wonderful hosts! We appreciated your assistance and advice, and your helping us to learn a little more about Panamanian culture. It was truly a pleasure to meet and get to know you. We are looking forward to a return trip to Panama!

Marcela and Aldofo are warm and welcoming hosts who have created enchanting garden walks around their property. The house is lovely and comfortable, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.

Beautiful gardens and fantastic scenery of mountains and valleys. We saw sooo many birds (over 50 different kinds, just in and around their gardens!) and capuchins from the patio.
Close to town for essentials and for hikes and attractions.
Great little kitchen for cooking if you're so inclined. We feasted on corn tortillas, and fresh eggs from the owners, beans and tomatoes outside every morning while watching the wildlife.
We hiked Indio dormido, from foot to head (starting at sendero de las cruces) . Also did hikes on a neighbouring peak, La Laguna and even a lovely walk near the rental to see a massive tree and river valley (ask the owners, you start at the far end of the nearby football pitch).
We did go see the waterfalls (hidden falls, lovers falls) but we visited during dry season so wasnt probably as spectacular as it could be. Still a fun hike though.
We visited the simple but lovely Nispero zoo.
Marcela and Adolpho were very friendly and helpful.

Went here with a few friends for a two night stay in el Valle. It is close to the town and it is lovely. I loved waking up and wandering around the gardens looking at the birds and flowers or just sitting on the front porch watching the clouds rise and fall over the mountains. Relaxing in the hammock was lovely too! Marcela is a wonderful hostess, very kind and helpful!

This house was the best way to top off a long vacation in Panama. The weather is exquisite. The piece is unbelievable. All sorts of nature is right before your fingertips.
The house is clean, well equipped, and very comfortable. There is no Wi-Fi, and you don't need one anyway. It's a place to relax, encounter God, and to nestle in His Creation.
The hosts are most friendly. They go above and beyond and a very thoughtful.

My family had the pleasure of staying in this lovely, lush environment for the holiday season and loved every minute of it! The weather was spring-like and the sun shone every day, with only occasional brief misting of rain. The grounds were full of flowers, trees and shrubs and included banana, orange, mango and papaya trees. A large variety of birds came by daily. The house was comfortable, containing 3 bedrooms, each with a queen-size bed and a wonderful tiled outdoor patio with spectacular views of the mountains. The town of El Valle is just 4 kms away and there is much to see and do in the area. Fresh fruit and vegetables are available at the market and are reasonably priced. You can see the daily life of the indigenous population by vising the artisans market, going to the local church events, and just touring the mountain villages to see where people live. Everyone is most friendly and helpful. Marcela and Adolfo were gracious hosts, showed us around the area, and were always available to answer questions.

This was our first use of VRBO so we were a bit concerned out what we would actually encounter. The photo's of this property showed a very nice house and grounds but photo's can be deceiving. In fact the photo's do not do the property full justice, the actual house and grounds are very beautiful. The grounds are extensively landscaped with many varieties of the trees and flowers and the views of the surround mountains are gorgeous. We had not expected to see so many birds (we saw several new birds to add to our "life list") and it was wonderful to sit on the porch in the mornings and evenings and enjoy the birds, flowers and the view.
The owners were a joy to deal with, from the very first contact responses to our questions were very prompt and detailed. They are passionate and enthusiastic about their place and took time to show us around. They also were very knowledgeable about El Valle and had suggestions for places to visit, shop and which restaurants were worth eating at.
This place exceeded all of our expectations and we would recommend this property to friends, family and really any one who loves nature.

First off the owners Marcela and Adolfo were great. Very attentive and Adolfo gave us a great tour of the area. The house is very comfortable in a quiet, peaceful part of El Valle just far enough away to see great stars but close enough for convenience to restaurants and grocery stores. There was a new large grocery store that opened just before we got there. Our favorite restaurant was Bruschetta that was rightfully recommended by Adolfo. My favorite part of the beautiful property was the bird watching. The other couple that we were vacationing with are avid bird watchers and they were also impressed with how many different varieties of birds and the frequency in which we saw them. Parrots, Birds of Prey, Mot Mots, Tanagers Wood Peckers and my favorite....the Red Legged Honey Creeper. There were others too. Also some amazing butterflies. Great stay highly recommended.

My sister and I stayed for two weeks at this beautiful property. The house was quite nice, the gardens are gorgeous, and the town of El Valle is charming. Marcela and her husband were the best hosts ever. Marcela greeted us and gave us a tour of the house and grounds. She introduced us to the man who lives on the property and helps maintain it. She took us into town and showed us where to shop and introduced us to various people. She was so very helpful. The next weekend her husband took us on an more extensive tour of the area. He is so knowledgable about the history and the land. They were truly wonderful. The area is so nice. The temperature is always good, not too hot, not too cold. We saw very few bugs which surprised us. We felt very safe during our stay. The town had several nice activities. I think our favorite was going to the mineral water hot springs. There is also hiking in the beautiful jungle. There were nice restaurants in town.

My family and I stayed in this beautiful home for two restful, quiet weeks in June 2013. The owners, Marcela and Adolfo, were great hosts, giving us tips on the best shopping and beaches as well as charming stories about the local town and its residents and history. We went hiking, bike riding and swimming in the Pacific. We experienced amazing weather, an exotic zoo, a mud bath, huge waterfalls, several different biomes, friendly residents and great food with cheap beer. I would not hesitate to recommend this place. The views are amazing and the home is comfortable and relaxed. One warning...there's not much night life in El Valle, so if you crave neon and action, this is not the place for you.

Concerning Panama, if cooler temperatures, peace and quiet, and beautiful landscape is what you are looking for, this is the place for your vacation. I came down to Panama for a chance to see the country and explore it as a possible retirement location. I booked this vacation home and was very happy with the whole experience. The owners were very accommodating and we had everything we needed in a home for three weeks. If there was something missing they immediately obliged and got it for us. I have to mention that they have two dogs that keep the property very secure and if there is something around they let you know, so we felt very secure in our surroundings up in the mountain area. The home accommodated six adults comfortably and there was ample sitting areas outside to enjoy the days long fresh air and beautiful blue sky's the whole time we were there (which was the month of march). The owners spent a lot of time with us taking us on guided tours around El Valle. They introduced us to the local markets and gave us lots of recommendations for the best restaurants and places to see. The beaches are only 35-40 minutes away so you have the best of both worlds. From the home you can take walks anywhere throughout the property and enjoy all the flowers and gardens they have produced. I want to take this opportunity to thank Marcelo and Adolfo for sharing their beautiful haven and it is truly a peace of paradise.I certainly will not hesitate to book another vacation at their property in the mountains.
