About this cottage rental
If you like island living and are seeking a unique romantic get-a-way, you will LOVE our property. With a Caribbean/surfing theme you will be able to enjoy your stay with us in a private setting. Our cozy cottage has two rooms but all you need to relax and unwind. The outside area has tropical trees along the pathway to our pool and sun deck for your enjoyment. Music is also an added pleasure around the pool area with outdoor sound system. The garden shower (and only shower) is just outside the cottage doors, completely private and unique as you can see in the photos. Our guests have a private entrance to the cottage on the back of the property. There is a cozy porch with Adirondack chairs for relaxing. Bicycles, Beach chairs, surfboard, and cooler are provided for your beach fun. The property is located behind our home on a quiet cul-de-sac with no noise except for the songbirds chirping in the mornings. Short 10 minute drive to either Folly Beach or to downtown historic Charleston. We have many guests celebrate honeymoons, weddings, anniversaries, graduations, and other Charleston events throughout the year. A long list of things to do as well as favorite restaurants are provided by past guests as well as family and friends. Our pool is unheated and located behind the main home and being the only guests, you will be able to enjoy it on your own. We have a strict no-pet policy so please do not ask for an exception. Unique property in a location central to Downtown
Charleston and Folly Beach. The hosts were gracious, and the property was one of a kind. We felt as if we were in the Caribbean. The outdoor shower was really cool, too. We had everything we needed for a great stay!

We loved our stay at Kokomo for our 5 year wedding anniversary! Being 15 minutes away from historic downtown Charleston and under 15 minutes from Folly Beach made it the perfect combination for a memorable stay! The cottage was exactly as advertised and the hosts were always prompt on responding to any inquiries we had. We would highly recommend for anyone looking for a Charleston getaway!!

Both my wife and I were very pleased with the property. The cottage was quaint and had plenty of privacy. The pool was clean and the outdoor shower was amazing! Definitely out favorite part of the entire plave. I would highly recommend this spot to any couple.

My mother and I went to Kokomo for a girls week. I wanted her to experience my favorite city, Charleston. We also got some beach time at Folly beach. It was great. The accommodations were great and the host were very welcoming.

Property was a little smaller than we anticipated. But was fine for the length of stay. Easy to get into Charleston or to the beach.

We stayed at Little Kokomo for our wedding weekend and loved every minute. Ken was a gracious host and we had everything we needed from the minute we arrived. Quiet neighborhood, great amenities and perfectly situated 15 mins from Folly Beach and Downtown Chas. We can’t wait to come back!

We came to Kokomo cottage for a birthday getaway and had a lovely time! Ken was extremely responsive and quickly answered any questions we had. Check in was super easy, we had tons of privacy and really enjoyed the pool area. Would absolutely book again!

On assignment in Greensboro NC and missing home a little bit ( NH Seacoast) so we thought we’d visit Charleston SC and all it’s history cuisine and the ocean. Never made it to Charleston but really enjoyed the Folly Beach area, Pier 101 and SC lowlands. So pretty. Found Edison and enjoyed two lovely meals right around the corner from our Kokomo home base. Many thanks to Ken and Christine for sharing their little slice of heaven with us and letting us watch the Bruins game poolside. Too short to enjoy all the area has to offer but a great getaway. Will be back. C

Cute place in a backyard in a quiet neighborhood on James island. Nice outdoor space for reading and relaxing. Only a twenty minute drive to downtown Charleston. The only only thing we missed was a stove where we could cook meals but with so many great places to eat out, we didn't miss it that much!

Nestled in a quiet and very convenient neighborhood, we felt as if we were in a bungalow on a private beach. The pool was cold, but inviting. Hosts are amazing.

We loved our stay! My partner was hesitant about the outdoor shower, but it ended up being our favorite part. The shower pressure and water temperature was better than the Hyatt we stayed at in downtown the night prior! The owners thought of everything to include with the rental. It was equal distance between downtown and the beach. We loved having access to some beach chairs and towels to take with us to the beach. It was a very private location. Quiet. We will book again when in the area.

We had so much fun and relaxed at Kokomo Cottage! Everything was perfect and was as pictured. This backyard beauty is perfect for that romantic laid back couples getaway! The outdoor shower is amazing! Location was perfect for very short commutes to restaurants and night life on Folly Beach and in downtown historic Charleston. We will definitely be returning! ❤️

Comfortable and convenient to the beach
My friend and I spent the weekend at Kokomo. We really enjoyed the uniqueness of the property. The outdoor shower was a nice experience. The shared pool was good. The close proximity to Folly was awesome. You can stay at a hotel if you want and not remember it a year later—- but I guarantee you won’t forget Kokomo if you try it out.

We didn’t stay much at our cottage just mostly to sleep. Quiet neighborhood & Ken was such a nice guy and so welcoming. We loved the outdoor shower it was a neat experience.
