Location is great, 8 minutes from the plaza, quiet area, extremely friendly and helpful host, cool rooms!
Not the easiest to get a taxi into town. a little bit away from all the action, which made it quiet, peaceful, and it had a great view!

The owners were super friendly, they helped us with planning our tours on short notice
Delicious dinner was cooked for us
The room was big and clean, the bed comfy
There was a laundry service
The shower worked well
Our water bottles were refilled for little charge
Breakfast was too little, twice we asked for a bit more, which we got charged for in the end, might be better to just charge more in general
There was no window in our room and it was cold at night. The hotel rooms are located in the second floor, while the first floor is still under construction (there are no walls yet) which is also a reason why the rooms become quite cold at night. Also it feels a bit insecure due to the ongoing construction work und unfinished first floor. Maybe it would be a good idea to work with volunteers who help the friendly owners with the construction

This lovely hostel is located 15 minutes by taxi from Huaraz city center. The city is noisy with lots of traffic, so we were happy to stay outside in a quieter area. We visited as a family and got two rooms next to each-other with great mountain views. The toilet and shower were separate from the room but for private use for our family. It was clean and we could sleep well. The breakfast was nice with fruit juice, bread with avocado and good coffee. They also prepared boxed breakfast for us on two occasions when we left for tours to lake 69, Paron Lake and a glacier. This area of Peru is in our top 3, so we had a really great time. The couple running the place was very friendly and helpful too.
We had a great time in this hostel...there is only one tiny thing we didn´t like so much. The second floor of the 3 floor building is actually a construction site. We didn´t quite understand why they had built the rooms on the third floor with a rooftop terrace, but left the second floor as a constructions site. It wasn´t such a problem for us, but I can imagine that not everyone feels safe with this. We do hope that with their lovely attention and more guests, they can keep on improving and also finish their second floor. We do all agree that this was a very great place to stay and start our adventures around Huaraz.

I had a great memorable stay at Eco Hotel Banderas. The Owners of the Hotel are so nice and welcoming, they made me feel like home. The Room is spacious with sunlight and amazing views to the green lush mountains. It’s is very convenient to downtown area and Plaza de Armas by 7 minutes Taxi ride or Combi. The breakfast is freshly homemade and tasted very delicious and healthy. I ate there most of meals including homemade dinner as well. Yeny organized for me Laguna 69 day hike and arranged for my PCR Test that i wouldn’t have done it without her help. Everything was exceptional during my 4 days stay. I highly recommend to stay there to enjoy a unique Peruvian authentic atmosphere. I cannot wait to go back again for a longer stay.

Nice, friendly staff. Nice view from the room. Quieter than being in the center of the city.

I had an amazing time at this hotel. It is located 10 mins away from the city center which means that you’ll have peace at night with no city noise. The room was spacious and clean, and I loved that it had big windows through which you can see the mountains. Also, the hotel’s rooftop is arranged so you can hang out and relax with a book, drinks, etc again with an amazing vista. The reservation includes breakfast which varied every day with great options. The owner offers healthy, homemade food that you can order for lunch or dinner to keep you fueled. They have an ample restaurant and good wifi that you can use to sit and work if that’s your jam. Currently the restaurant only caters the hotel guests due to COVID so sometimes it feels that you have the whole space for your own! There is a convenience store literally around the corner as well in case you need something extra. This is a great spot to relax and plan your next hiking adventure around beautiful Huaraz!

Beautiful location, lovely hosts, delicious food... and you can see the Huascaran from the terrace! Ideal for people looking for a peaceful location just outside Huaraz. We would definitely come back next time.
We had some difficulty locating the hostel initially, although it is not far from the city centre. However, it is quite easily reachable by combi once you know which ones to use. Maybe ask Yeny, the owner, in advance for more precise directions.
