This stay was made as a gift for my in-laws for their 50th wedding anniversary, which they celebrated with a couple of lifelong friends. They had a beautiful time and raved about the beautiful scenery (they managed to perfectly time the fall colors), the home, and the wonderful weather (they were lucky to have a warm, sunny stay). The only issue was the key being used to open the front door; the door was very heavy and required a bit of finagling to open. We had to contact the property manager who quickly sent over a cleaning person. The property manager Paige was excellent and went above and beyond helping me plan the trip remotely. We plan to visit again regularly!

Beautiful home with so much to do. We loved the layout of the home, however just a note - there are a lot of stairs for anyone that may have knee issues. We certainly got in great workouts! We loved being able to look at the lake from all the decks and were even able to watch a summer storm. The weather was warm and the water perfect. We had planned a couple of nearby hikes, but ended up spending all our time swimming, kayaking, and building fires in the fire pit. The location of the home on the lake was perfect and the neighborhood was very quiet. We had a wonderful time enjoying the beautiful mountain air and lake.

The house was perfect for our multi family holiday get together. The layout is fantastic, and the view can’t be beat! The home is truly beautiful. The kitchen is well-equipped and beds were very comfortable. The property managers were responsive to minor questions that we had.

Best of Both Worlds
Mountains and water together! Just want we wanted. Rented a boat from Deyton Camp with a tube and skis. Great service and the owners were responsive and friendly. Wish we would have rented a jet ski too for the teens. Home was perfect and comfortable. We wish we would have known it was a dry county. Could not buy wine at the grocery and closest place is 40 minutes away. Bring your own at least until you can drive the distance to Bryson City. We would love to return here. Great accomodations for our family of 5 people.

MOST ENJOYABLE
Friends gathered at this great property for a most enjoyable weekend. Everything is as promoted and it may be better in person. The layout is fantastic with plenty of spread out bedrooms + entertaining areas + large open kitchen/dining/living room that opens onto an expansive balcony overlooking lake santeelah. Our experience was overall positive such that we agreed to return next year.

Excellent Getaway
We stayed here for our family vacation. It was exactly what we needed. Private and beautiful. Easy to rent a boat at Deyton Camp, and did a guided fishing trip, and we were able to easily dock all the rentals used. It was awesome for the girls to float in the lake. Very comfortable for the 6 of us with ample beds and a bathroom for each couple.

Beautiful and peaceful
We enjoyed everything about our stay. The house was wonderful and well-maintained top to bottom. The property was lovely. The firepit by the water feature was a hit for total evening relaxation. The views were fantastic. After the trip, we realized that the first image that comes up on a Google search of Lake Santeetlah, at least for us, was a picture taken from the deck of this house. And it is that beautiful. Highly recommend.

More beautiful than can be shown in pictures
We had a lovely family stay. This property is much nicer than it can be viewed in these photos. The photos of the outdoor landscape do not really showcase the beauty. The property manager was very responsive, we had some minor questions that were quickly addressed. We chose this house and area for its low key location during Covid, a place to quarantine and enjoy nature without coming into contact with anyone. It is definitely remote and low key.

Magical Getaway
After being basically quarantining since mid March, it was so special to come together as a family with our two daughters, their spouses, and their four children for nearly a week of a restful and fun vacation. It was a perfect place to feel safe from COVID and to have enough room for everyone to spread out. The bunk room was perfect for the four children and the huge playroom was great for them as well as the adults who could enjoy time away from them! The large back verandas provided beautiful places to sit and watch the lake and mountains and dine outside. The dock was a source of endless entertainment for the little ones for swimming and casting their lines- they actually pulled out a couple of little fish that went back in, but gave them great delight. The adult bedrooms all had views and the large kitchen was excellent. We even took advantage of the fire pit and had s’mores one evening. A really lovely property both from the standpoint of the house itself and it’s gorgeous setting. I think everyone pretty much agreed that it was one of the best vacations together ever. Thank you to the owners and Cherokee Realty.

Beautiful home, views, and lake
This home is absolutely as described! It has a great layout for multiple people/families and well equipped. There is plenty of parking (we fit 2 trucks, 1 SUV, and 16ft trailer and still had room). The back leading to the water is well terraced, has a great fire pit, and great dock. The lake is wonderful with so many coves to explore and rather quiet during the week. Communication was excellent and we would definitely rent again!

Absolutely wonderful
This property is amazing!! We had two family of four and had plenty of room. The house is better than the pictures and the views from the back deck are wonderful! We were amazed that there was hardly anyone on the lake. We rented a boat and had the entire lake basically to ourselves. This was our first trip here but will definitely not be our last. If you are thinking about renting this property do not hesitate...you will love it!
