The setting was out of this world. The garden was amazing and so peaceful. The views were breathtaking. The apartment was delightful and immaculate. The llama s said good morning every day it was possibly the best place we have ever stayed.
Nothing it was truly a most perfect place

Perfect location for our trip to Scafell Pike. Huge, comfortable beds.
Great self catering apartment, but would have liked to have a washing machine facility.

The property was set in the hills so beautiful views-it’s an ideal spot to discover both the seaside and the mountains- we climbed Scafell Wasdale head starts really close to the cottage, there’s a fabulous lake walking distance where you can canoe. Today we visited Seascale where there’s a lovely beach.
I know the cottage is rural but the WI-FI wasn’t the best and it is advertised- we were disappointed last night when we were watching a film on Netflix half way through the internet connection went on the TV we tried rebooting etc but no good. Possibly a few games cards etc.

Great location and comfortable accommodation. Well equipped with friendly hosts.
We could hear people talking in other cottage below and next door, but not too late.

The location was stunning with the most beautiful views and surroundings. I loved the garden and all the statues and wooden carvings around which added to the magic of the place. It was lovely to wake up in the morning and see horses and foals just outside our window. The beds were really big and comfortable. Also not far from Scafell Pike. I would love to return here sometime.

The beds were really comfy, the location was stunning and just down the road from the start of scafell pike which was the purpose of our trip. Windsor cottage had everything needed for a super comfy base to explore the area!
Nothing, it was great!

Incredible location - spectacular views. The room was large and extremely comfortable, particularly the beds. Gorgeous wooden furniture.
Just needs a balcony to admire the view even more!

The property and location was perfect for us. It is peaceful and beautiful. Although it is as bit isolated (which was a great bonus for us) , it gives you a chance to travel and see the Lake District at its best - not too overcrowded and yet close to amazing attractions. All the instructions to and around the property were clear, and if we had any queries they were answered promptly. I wish we stayed there longer. Highly recommend!

The fact we had to leave :(

The accommodation was spacious and comfortable. Very nice personal touches and gave you a feeling that the host cared about your stay.
Didn't dislike anything but I would say we didn't see or speak to a single person which is fine but slightly unexpected. Also the half a mile from the main road to the farm is very steep and probably worth mentioning as we wouldn't have made it up if the weather would have been icy cold or snowing. Again neither are a complaint as it was a lovely stay and would stay again.

Super narrow road and dark. Would be great if more lights for safety reasons.

Very comfortable apartment, very stylish
No rubber mat for shower, shower tray smooth and very slippery when wet.
New baking trays needed.

Beautiful location and nicely decorated room. Very remote but great for a quiet break
This is definitely NOT pet friendly, to the point we were asked to leave a night early due to a pure misunderstanding that host is now refusing to help us with. Very disappointing as shouldn’t advertise as pet friendly if it’s not
Also Wi-Fi is intermittent and the TV doesn’t work at all.

The location is simply amazing with spectacular views and fantastic area worth visiting, multiple footpaths and a scenic lake. A perfect place to unwind and recharge your batteries.
The accommodation itself provides you with everything you need for a short as well as a long stay. The host is hospitable and passionate about his farm willing to share the story of his interesting life with the guests. Everything worked perfectly. Good value for money. I will certainly come back again.

The property and grounds were stunning, and the beds were super comfortable, perfect to come home to after a day of climbing mountains.
Nothing, the kitchen and living area had everything we needed.

Beautiful location. Perfect for Wastwater and Scafell. Beds were extremely comfortable. Shower nice and hot with good pressure. Good provision of cooking facilities
No hot water or heating on the first day and night. Despite this being sorted on the second day this wasn’t ideal.

The location was perfect. Beautiful views of Scafell, they had a lovely farm with a great booklet detailing everything we wanted to know about them and the local area. It was very clean and spacious.
The kitchen could've had better stock, no spices to speak of. The few pans and pots there were very scratched and hard to clean because of it, everything stuck to them. There were no toiletries as stated which was a shame as I forgot conditioner.

It was peaceful
It was very muddy on the car park just outside our accommodation, but the owner did apologise and advised us that they were building a turning circle.

Kitchen area, the outdoor art and the views.
No real face to face accessibility to anyone, the owner was away in South Africa as he kept telling me when we had problems with the TV. He made me feel like it was my fault or I was stupid. The issue was eventually resolved as it seemed to be a problem initiated by a previous tenant. The owner was contactable even though on his holidays (?) in South Africa but it was not a relaxed or pleasant experience dealing with him.

The location was stunning and the cottage was well equipped for a lengthy stay. We stayed in the lower cottage despite my booking the upper cottage on booking.com. The cottage has a lot of potential. It was clean, warm and when asked, fresh bedding and towels were provided straight away (we stayed for 10 days).
The views from the garden were amazing and we often sat out there in the late afternoon watching the world go by.
The host was welcoming, dropped off a lovely bottle of wine when we arrived and was on hand to answer questions and did what he could to make our stay comfortable.
The cottage was very noisy, there was a pump running constantly between 7 am and 11 pm. We were hoping that being so remote it would be quiet and we'd be able to hear the birds and other local wildlife but that wasn't the case.
The lower cottage is next to the garage and one day we returned to find a strong smell of petrol in the bathroom that lasted 2 days. This had come through from the garage.
The cottage has been fitted out to a high standard however the shower curtain doesn't fit which means that the bathroom gets very wet. There are plastic panels on the wall opposite to help with damp however if it was finished properly it would help to make this a great place to stay.
The wi-fi wasn't working for the first half of our stay, the host explained that they'd had a lightning strike which had affected a lot of the services, which we completely understand. We always look for places with wi-fi as we run a business ourselves so getting away can be challenging. We coped but it wasn't ideal.
The cottage is all open plan and we did a lot of cooking however there's no extractor fan so all of the cooking smells have no where to go.
It was quite expensive given these issues.

The view was exceptionally breathtaking. Very scenic and beautiful.
All 3 of us didn’t have any phone signals through out our stay near the area. Mostly to do with the lighting storm, they had few nights before. We had to drive out of Gosforth , about 15mins drive, to get any phone receptions. There’s free Wifi on the property, we just couldn’t get on it the first night. Felt a little scary for me, as I was there on my own with a child. And I wouldn’t get in touch with my husband who was coming later then us. The wifi got sorted the next day. The host was very friendly. So I guess bring a physical map with you and plan your journeys well before hand, just in case.
