La vue sur le lac et les volcans est belle. Le bar est très sympa, des activités sont proposées le soir.
Sauf l’eau tout est payant, pas de ménage dans les chambres durant le séjour. Le rapport qualité prix pour une chambre double n’est pas au top…

very nice hostel, food was also amazing, the workers were so friendly and nice, very easy to meet other travelers. would absolutely return. also everything was put on a tab so you didnt have to use cash or card every time u wanted to pay for a drink or food you just pay one tab at the end which was very easy. good location right across the street from dock for the boats to go to other villages.

Goede locatie, vriendelijk personeel, family dinner is echt geweldig.
De kamer was erg gehorig en zaten boven de gemeenschappelijke ruimte. Drie avonden dus flink geluidsoverlast gehad van de muziek en het gepraat. Moeilijk in slaap komen. Laatste avond (zaterdagavond) was een verschikking toen in de naastliggende bar karaoke avond was. Kon iguana niks aan doen uiteraard, maar de muren zijn echt te dun.
Douche was koud.

Good location very close to the pier and nice views but not enough facilities when rooms are full. Nice new yoga studio that was free to use in the day when no classes were on. The staff were nice but a few aren't that knowledgable on best ways to explore the lake.
Not enough bathrooms if you're in a shared room. It says breakfast starts at 8 but they don't serve any food until 8:30, no one infomed us of this when we prdered at 8am and we ended up rushing our food and late for pur tour.
Private rooms above the common area are very noisy, with people being loud until midnight and then again at 5:30am. Wifi is only accessible in the common area making it a popular place for loud phone calls. Beds not confortable. No free tea/coffee.

La Iguana Perdida is a wonderful spot. The view on the lake is perfection, and dinners + activities organized at this hotel/hostel are a wonderful place to meet other travellers. The price is unbeatable for what you get! I was worried upfront (was not sure what to expect at this price), but ended up extending my stay with 1 night. 1 of the highlights!
Missed warm water for showers!!

The staff was amazing and accommodating, and the family dinners were fantastic. I spent many hours just chilling on the hammocks and relaxing!

They had great food and the view was amazing.
My bed was so squeaky that it woke me up every time I rolled over. The shower head needs to be cleaned. The room was musty.

Really great location, the family dinners were the highlight of my stay. This hostel has such a warm family vibe and all the staff were incredible. not to mention how wonderful the cooks are :)
Could have used with more bathrooms but while we were there they were currently building some new ones so big plus!

Location was great as a chill out spot right on the lake. Great place to stay as a solo traveler, family dinners are such a good way to get to know others. Food and drink all good value for other meals. Friendly staff, good chill out area and a big yoga studio which you can use anytime. Definitely recommend.
Not tonnes of bathrooms for the shared dorms and they chose 8:30am to do maintenance work on one of the two on the side I was staying which is just bad planning and timing. No lockers to put valuables (although my stuff was all fine). Shuttle they book for you to onwards destination is over priced vs booking it elsewhere.

the newly build deluxe room is very comfortable, I really recommend to stay for the family diners. you’ll meet a lot of travelers and the food is everyday delicious. the staff is very friendly and will help you to find out the best way to discover the lake.

the best view of the lake. A place one can truly relax, talk to people, unplug, lie in a hammock and watch the clouds over the volcanos or go on hikes and excursions and scuba dive. As you wish.

The view from the village over the lake is great from this village, but that said the view is the only thing the village offers
You won't see many guatemaltecos here, this is usually for a reason
Staff unorganised, some seem to understand their job, many don't
Lots of foreign travelers but Guatamala sided beds (short)
It's windy near the lake, but cabins not built for it, flapping windows all night
Do check the bill, ours wasn't correct but the staff corrected the incorrectly charged drinks, no question asked. Cheers to that
This has been by far the worst price/value ratio during my stay in Guatemala

Beautiful view, the hostel is right by the dock so convenient too. The shared room had enough space for 3 people. The cake is very cheap at just Q5 a piece.
There were just four showers with toilets and two separate toilets near reception for the entire site so one always had to wait to use the sink/ shower/ toilet. The toilets were old, chipped and some seats were not properly installed. The shower I used did not have hot water at all (I waited for ages). Toilet and shower facilities overall did not feel clean.
The smoothies bowl was not like normal - extremely runny. I don't know how other dishes were but this was an overpriced disappointment

great location, beautifully view, great staff, loads of social arrangements, social dinner every night.

Nice environment and very cheerful staff. The food and smoothies were also delicious. The pool table is also a plus :)
The room could have been much better and the bed more comfy.

This place was awesome from start to finish. Even after I checked out the staff helped me with another hostel in Rl Paredon. The value for my stay was great, the experience for my teenage daughter was AMAZING. She loved every minute of this property and ask the friendly staff abs other guests. I can't recommend this enough.
The hot water could have been better but I managed through it.

Big room surround by garden. Located next to the dock. Excellent view to the lake and volcanos. Friendly staff and quickly respond.
The dinner like a big family.
The shower of the room flooded during use.

The rooms are set amongst lush jungle plants which was really pretty! We got the room that faces the lake, which was a treat. Sadly there is a pillar breaking up the view a bit, but still lovely. The hostel is a fun vibe where you can meet other travelers, so if you are looking for quiet and romantic, this is not it. The private suites are private, but you can hear the music from the bar on the weekends which ends at midnight which is fine. The private room we stayed at was spacious and clean. The water was also hot, so that’s a plus!
We got charged an extra night on our bill, which I caught when checking out. Staff fixed it, but didn’t really apologize for the mistake. Not sure what went wrong there, but double check your tab at the end of your stay! Santa Cruz is chill and quaint but food options are very very limited. Be prepared to buy all your dinners on property and the neighboring hotels - I wasn’t blown away by the food, but it was fine for a nice location. We also set up the sauna, but it never got really hot at all.

Stunning views!
Very basic private rooms with very uncomfortable beds
