Our cottage, which was completed renovated in 2013, has been lovingly preserved within the same family since its inception and is full of character and history. The beautiful wood floors were hand-crafted by the owner from recovered lumber from the old Moore General Hospital, a local WWII army hospital which was subsequently torn down. The beautiful wood trim is also hand-crafted and original to the home.
The home has luxurious appointments throughout, assuring your comfort, pleasure and good night's rest:
• Two bedrooms have new memory foam mattresses
• All beds have 600-thread-count 100% cotton Hotel Collection sheets and down-alternative comforters
• 100% Micro Cotton Hotel Collection bath towels
• Wireless internet access (Wi-Fi)
• Free long-distance (U.S.) phone calls
• Flat panel TV in Living Room
• All bedrooms have flat-panel TVs
• Fully stocked kitchen with stand mixer, food processor, crock pot and more
• Vermont Castings outdoor grill

• Washer and Dryer
The setup of the home has unique features that make it ideal for families, two couples and/or family get-togethers. There is a total dining capacity of 8: four in the kitchen and four on the adjacent porch. Unlike many rentals which advertise that they 'sleep 6' - but the some only get a sleeper sofa or futon - all six will have an actual bed. Our back bedroom has its own entrance, making it perfect for two couples where each may want their own schedule or privacy.
• Master Bedroom - Queen bed with new memory foam mattress
• Second Bedroom - Full bed with new memory foam mattress
• Third Bedroom - (2) Twin beds with firm innerspring mattresses
We want all members of your family to be comfortable here, so we provide a strap-on highchair, baby bathtub and sleeping travel crib for your youngest member; and our cottage accepts well-trained dogs (limit two) with separate pet fee.

This is a great little place for a small group; there was adequate space for the four of us and our dog, and our kids were pleased to have their own rooms, although seating would be tight for a larger group. The kitchen is sufficient for very basic cooking. Downtown Asheville was less than 20 minutes away by car. The neighborhood is very scenic, but note there are no sidewalks and you have to walk along the main road to get to more pedestrian-friendly walking areas. There is a nearby dog-friendly park with a trail around a pond, however, which you can easily drive to.

The property was exactly as described. It was clean. Kitchen was fully stocked with all the essentials. Excellent coffee maker for K-cups and brewing pots of coffee. The layout was not ideal for 4 adults, as you have to go through the one bedroom to get to the back bedroom (or walk outside to get in). This setup would work best for parents/children. Check-in and out were easy, and the price was very reasonable. Owner was very responsive and helpful.

This little cottage home had enough room for our family college tour trip to Western Carolina University. I have to admit that I was a little worried when they said they had several "house rules" BUT this is by far the cleanest VRBO we have ever stayed in! There werr plenty of comfortable beds to accommodate 4 adults and our 2 teenagers. The property has neighbors, but you would never know it with as quiet as it was. We felt like we were tucked away in a remote place all to ourselves. The house/property across the street had some livestock that made it feel even more like a country cottage. The mountain views out the living room window was a beautiful sight to wake up to in the morning too. We loved the peaceful little cottage, and how easy it was to get to a store for shopping and a chain coffee shop if you wanted a treat as well. We were instructed to call the property manager when we checked out and I was surprised they picked up the phone so quickly at 6am when we headed out. They were extremely friendly even though I woke them up so early on a Sunday. We really had a wonderful visit and look forward to staying again in the future.

The house is very cute. It is not far from downtow or Biltmore but a little remote. It was fine for us girls. A nice place to stay.

It had pretty much everything you could need. The only issue was the parking. That road was hard to back out on and there was no way to turn around in the driveway.

Cozy little house - reminded me of my grandmother’s house. Sweet location; we enjoyed the running trail nearby and being able to sit outside in the yard at the end of the day. It’s close to a grocery store, easy to get to hiking trails, and great for exploring Asheville. Had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

Great location, beautiful property and a very clean cozy home. Will definitely stay here again.

My family of 5 (3 kids 7 and under) stayed here for our trip to Asheville. It was such a great, easy to find house and has ALL the accomodations for our needs ! Perfect size that we all had our own beds and a pack n play was already there for us to use. We cooked easily there and came and went as we needed. We definitely will stay here again on our annual trip down ! Host was responsive and kind !

We enjoyed our time here. The home was welcoming and comfortable. We'd stay here again and recommend it to all.

2 nights at the Carolina Cottage were very comfortable.
Everything worked as it should (though many rentals are noncompliant). Driving to town was easy, but Bee Tree Rd. is not great for walking and it's best to back into the driveway in order to exit more safely.

Convenient location and a nice house.

Overall it was great! No complaints and would definitely stay again! The smoke alarm was due for another battery when we came back from having dinner but that was remedied quickly after we found which alarm was chirping lol 😂

A beautiful old red maple in the front with ample yard for leash walking a dog. Great location for attending music camp at nearby Warren Wilson College but as others have noted, traffic on the road is heavy and there is no way to turn around in the driveway so you have to be comfortable with backing into the driveway.

The house was clean and cozy. It had everything we needed. It was well furnished and appointed. We enjoyed listening to the frogs and crickets at night while sitting on the porch. We even saw a family of four foxes scampering.

Very clean and cute house. Had everything we needed for our family of 5. Fully stocked kitchen and nice washer/dryer. It is a few miles outside of town but easy to get to town. Really neat park nearby that had a playground, ponds, and hiking trails along The Swannanoa River. We even saw a bear in the yard the 2nd morning of our stay! Definitely recommend The Carolina Cottage!

The house was great. Clean, easy to find things we needed, etc. We made great memories there. However, the photos imply that the view from the property is private and do not demonstrate the busy road between the house and the views depicted. Despite the "no outlet" sign that you pass on entering this very large community, most cars zoom down that road at >50 MPH. It can be very dangerous to back out of (you cannot turn your cars around, as a row of "No Trespassing" signs clearly indicate alongside the long, one-way driveway (which can easily accommodate 4 cars - a big plus!). The front porch is very small, though we did move 4 chairs from behind the house onto this porch and hang out there - a lovely climbing tree shades the whole front of the house. It is the front of the house that looks out onto the road, and the lovely photo of the meadow and barn depicted with this property was taken from the other side of this busy road. The back of the house, where there is a clean and ready-to-use grill and a small concrete patio looks up a small hill to a prefabricated house, the property of which surrounds the Carolina House VRBO. Understandably, we chose to hang out at front. The outdoor chairs are new and were great to have as we did this. It's in a great location, and it's a great price. However, the owners should post more accurate photos of the outside areas surrounding the house.

I stayed four nights here, along with three of my adults children. This house was clean and comfortable. The set up worked perfectly for us. The largest bedroom had a very comfortable mattress. The full bedroom, was good. The third bedroom with twin beds, that were comfortable also, had plenty of room. The small bathroom is actually in the twin room. You do have to walk through the full bedroom to get to the twin room. This wasn’t a problem for us. Living room was great, spacious enough for us to sit, watch movies and visit. The kitchen size and space is fairly large. The kitchen supplies/utensils are good and you can cook there without any problems other than the stove. It is very small, not full size and only has one rack. It still had four burners on top but, the oven could have used another rack. I cooked a lot and made due without any major issues, just had to plan out timing of dishes. Washer and dryer work well. There is a small table on the closed in back porch area, where the washer/dryer are, it is a very peaceful place to sit and visit. There was a table and chairs for outside and we enjoyed sitting out under the tree and had wonderful weather. The parking is a little tight, it’s pull straight in and back out, no turn around space. If able I recommend backing in so you can see better getting out. Overall I was very pleased with this home! It was just what we needed!

Extremely well maintained property far enough away from Asheville to avoid the noise and traffic, but close enough to find everything you need. Perfect for families wishing to enjoy the blue ridge mountains. The bedroom arrangement was perfect for 5 of us ( Wife, Son, Daughter in law, grandson). Everything we needed to cook and enjoy our stay. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed here for a weekend getaway. It was 10 minutes away from downtown and about 15-20 minutes away from Biltmore. The house was very cozy and comfortable. It had all the necessities we needed. Way better than staying in a hotel. The neighborhood was quiet and had wonderful views.

It was amazing! Get together with our kids. Close to Asheville. We had a great time!

We were in town for a cheer competition for our daughter, and we needed to bring our dog. This place was in a great location and only 20 mins from downtown. We loved being able to stay outside of the city but still close enough to enjoy it. We will definitely be booking this cottage again in the future.

Very comfortable place to stay. The house is kept well. The only downside was the road that the house is on was very busy and people drove very fast on it. Otherwise I would highly for your stay

This home was perfect for our quick trip to Biltmore with the kids to see the Christmas lights. It was in the perfect location. It was very cute and cozy. Everyone that I came in contact with, both before arrival and after departure, about the poperty, were very pleasant.

The house was as pictured and described. The host communicated instructions and handy info prior to our arrival, which was amazing. No issues getting to the house and letting ourselves in. The house had handy notes about local places and location of inventory throughout the house. We did have a hard time finding a good local restaurant without having to drive towards the Biltmore area. We seem to have to drive to that area daily as everything we had planned was that side. The drive wasn't too bad but wish we stayed closer, the return to the cottage was difficult as the block and around the house was very dark. Overall a good stay, the house had a lot of extras which we unfortunately didn't get time to utilize, like dvds, books.

Home was very clean. It met the needs of five older people very well. It was in the country , but a nice short drive. The only complaint was the driveway. There was no way to turn and pull out. Had to blindly back out into the road, but we had no problems Would stay here again.

Perfect for a weekend getaway. Not too far from the city but away from the hustle and bustle. Very clean and perfect for a family of 4 with some kids.

It had everything we needed. It would’ve been nice if they would’ve been fans in the bedrooms. It was cool at night so we could open the windows but there was no airflow in the house. Once we got there, there were rules that said dogs were not allowed on any of the furniture. Yet the house was advertised as pet friendly. I feel this Should have been listed on the description of the house.
The house was very clean and the beds were extremely comfortable.

We had a great time staying at the cottage. It was the perfect size & set up for our family of 5. We enjoyed going to Asheville & white water rafting on the Broad. Cottage is clean & comfortable.

Great location
The location of this property is wonderful. The drive is a quick 15-20 minutes to all that Asheville has to offer. The check-in process was very easy and the home is nice. The layout is a bit weird, though, and may not be good for people wanting privacy. To get to the third bedroom, you have to either walk through the second one or walk around the house to a separate entrance. It wasn't quite what I was expecting from the description and the guest that used the second bedroom did not feel comfortable knowing that for the other person to get anywhere else in the home, they would have to walk through their bedroom. The home was mostly clean, but there were several dirty vents and cobwebs along the ceiling. Not really what I would expect from and rental like this. There were also several items that we noticed upon arriving that we attempted to report to the property managers, such as the kitchen table leg being loose and the living room tv having a black line that ran down the screen, but never heard back from them. They also didn't respond when I called to inform them that we were checking out at the end of our visit. Overall, it would be a decent rental for a couple people. I just wouldn't rent it again with the size group we had (5 adults).

Wonderful stop on our roadtrip!
We absolutely loved sitting on the porch listening to songbirds and relaxing after long road trip from West Virginia. Started in Massachusetts. We came to the area to visit old friends of my husband. He lived in Black Mountain for 10 years before we met. Lovely to hear about all his memories. It is a beautiful area. We brought our dog and even though this rental isn’t on a walk friendly road, we found the park Charles D. Owen Park right around the corner. Loved this park! You can walk almost a mile around the lake and there is plenty to see with the streams and other pups out walking. The house decor was lovely and clean. And Ricky, the property manager, was so nice when we called. Definitely loved the new lawn chairs from Lowes with the hidden beverage holders.👌😎

Great little cottage
Cozy little cottage out in the quiet, but close to Asheville and lots of great restaurants. Very cool park nearby for family fun. The property had everything we needed ready to go and was perfectly sized for our family of 6.

Cute country home
This house was great for 5 of us. Very clean and we had everything we needed. However, it was such a beautiful weekend we would have loved some chairs on the front deck. Overall a great weekend.

Comfort
Better than a motel, just not comfortable to me. I would suggest new mattresses, at least one recliner and a full sofa. Outside there is no chairs to sit and a fire pit would be nice but not mandatory.
