About this house rental
Located right in the heart of Beechworth this upmarket fully self-contained character home offers romantic accommodation for a couple, a family, or a group of up to 6 people, next door to the best shops, wine bars and cafes in central Beechworth with street parking out front and plenty of unlimited free parking about 20 metres away around corner. This luxuriously renovated 1874 home spans two levels with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, with the upstairs room being where Beechworth's historical photographer J E Bray took the now famous private portraits of the Ned Kelly Gang. Also check out Ned Kelly’s Marlo Cottage’s sister - French Cottage 1854, which is a gorgeous fully renovated three bedroom home with a stunning French inspired alfresco garden all located approx 800 metres from Marlo Cottage.
Book them both for large groups and entertain in the stunning large private alfresco garden at French Cottage. Take a look at French Cottage 1854 on Airbnb Beechworth. For weddings usually the groom and groomsmen stay at Marlo Cottage and the bride at French Cottage.

"Marlo Cottage - a beautifully restored and furnished cottage that has it all ... style, location, heritage and history"
"If you like historical towns and accommodation with atmosphere then this is the place. And comfort is not sacrificed. Marlo has been well renovated and we were delighted to find real antique furniture. Rooms were surprisingly large and spacious with high ceilings.
We've been there three times and been glad of the good space for relaxing, cooking and socialising. On our latest trip in November we spent some evenings in the small courtyard since the weather was warm".
" Marlo cottage is exquisite, you can lay in bed at night or in the beautiful bath and watch the stars . Every thing is available to cook and then dine at the cottage if you wish, or if you like, walk out the front door and the gorgeous town of Beechworth is there for you to enjoy ,you can also sit on the front Veranda and simply watch the passing parade or have the privacy of the back court yard complete with a rustic water fountain, there is limited street front parking provided for unpacking all your baggage or packing all your goodies that you have purchased from the famous lollie shop and or the honey from the bee store across the road. There is lots of free unlimited parking nearby. The cottage is beautifully restored and our stay there was perfect" .
"The house is in the centre of town with limited street front parking at during business hours out front and unlimited free parking just 20 metres streets away around the street corner . Beechworth has plenty of coffee shops, antique shops and places to rummage around. There's lots to do in surrounding area too. If we visit Beechworth again, we'd stay at Marlo".
Maximum three bedrooms or six guests.

We spent a couple of days at this lovely and comfortable house right in the centre of town. There’s plenty of space to relax in the house and in the little secluded courtyard at the back, and it’s great to have two bathrooms when there are four of you sharing the house. Loved the reliable wifi too!

Marlo Cottage was perfect in so many ways. We did not use ur cars for the 4 days/nights that we stayed-everything we wanted to do was in walking distance. The house was perfectly zoned for 5 adults, providing both and open gathering area and privacy in the bedrooms. The front street is reasonably busy through the day, but quiet at night. it was great to have 2 bathrooms with 5 adults. Marlo Cottage was a great base, and the history of the area a part of the cottage itself. We were spoilt for choice for food and drink.A huge thanks to Jo for the immaculate presentation of Marlo Cottage Our family had a great annual holiday together.

Cozy
The cottage was cozy, comfortable and attractively finished with period pieces. I would highly recommend a stay. The only problem is a lack of instructions for things such as the gas log fire, micro/oven and stove top.

Great Location, Well Appointed, Wonderful Presentation
The location is great, right in the middle of town, with an excellent coffee shop next door and many pubs and restaurants within a couple of hundred metres. The cottage is beautifully kept and very clean - provided with everything you could need. The beds were extremely comfortable and beautifully presented. The manager was very responsive when we had a minor hiccup with the washing machine. Our time there was so relaxing. I highly recommended this amazing cottage -a real gem.

Beautiful house, fantastic location
Great A/C, the location is fantastic, we were able to park the car and walk the entire time we were there and then pop back to the house to cool off on the two 40 degree days we were there. Great coffee shops right next door too.

Superb house in excellent location
Our family stayed for four nights at Marlo Cottage and thoroughly enjoyed it. The cottage is exactly as described, very clean and comfortable. Location could not be better with coffee and food as close as next door. Recommend riding the rail trails. We would happily return.

Marlo Cottage
Our stay at Marlo Cottage was pleasant, the location was great and the cottage was clean. Unfortunately when i rang the Manager to advise that we had arrived from Ballarat they "didnt think they had anyone in the Cottage this week end', there was only one room that had towels provided, there was no milk in the fridge for a cup of tea and there was a blind in the top bedroom that was completely missing. Given the cost to stay i would have expected a bit better service and a few niceties provided.

Exceptional. Beautiful furniture. Amazing linen. So very clean. Convenient location to absolutely everything. Lovely manager. Great front veranda with great table and chairs to enjoy beechworths atmosphere. Suits couples, girls weekends and families with respectful children. Warm, fresh and light filled through the beautiful stained glass. Well appointed. Homely atmosphere. Supermarket at the back door. Don’t pass this one. Perfect Beechworth getaway
A step back in time in this historic cottage filled with antiquities but with all the modern touches for a relaxing and wonderful stay. Right in the middle of town, we could walk to everything, yet it was very quiet in the evenings. Comfortable beds with crisp white linen, spotless bathrooms, a full kitchen with everything needed, an outdoor space at the back for privacy and a front deck to sit back and watch the world go by.

Lovely house and great location
We really enjoyed our stay at Marlo Cottage. The house was spotless and well appointed. Jo the manager was very helpful. Everything in the town is within easy walking distance.
We are planning on staying again.
My only suggestion is a spare blanket in each room for in-between weather when a sheet is too cold and a doona too hot.

Fantastic!!!!!
Marlo Cottage was beautiful and very comfortable. It had everything you could possibly want and need and its central location meant we were within walking distance of everything. We loved The Beechworth Bakery, the Lolly shop, the ice-creamery, the honey shop and we walked across the road to The Hibernian for dinner every night. They were fantastic with my son's allergies. The kids and husband enjoyed showing me around as they had previously been to Beechworth on school camps staying at The Old Priory.
