A very different experience as this is a beautiful family owned and run lodging so is very personal - delightful. Such a quiet spot with extensive grounds a lovely pool and old buildings - charming.
A wee bit too far(10km windy local road) out of Tomar which we did not realise but we had a good meal at an authentic Portuguese restaurant only 3km away.

Authentic village estate and homely traditional villa. Quiet and very comfortable. Delightful personable owner.
Nothing!

Room was small but functional. Great breakfast. We loved the pool. Lots of facilities though we didn't stay long enough to enjoy them all.
Bathroom could use some TLC. Property shows some age but is generally well maintained. Check-in was a bit confusing as we couldn't find the host right away.

Beautiful quaint place. Amazing grounds and friendly host and staff

Great location. Wonderful host. Exceptional facilities. Swimming pool. Parking.
Some kitchen equipment needs checking - taps, hot plates, plug for sink. Minor stuff.

Huge home with several private rooms on a huge property in the countryside, 20 minutes by car from Tomar. More like a B&B than a hotel. Host is a lovely lady who goes out of her way to make your stay pleasant, right down to allowing us to leave our dog in the room even though we told her he might cry. Spotlessly clean with screens on the windows so you can sleep with them open and enjoy the fresh country air. Lovely varied breakfast, including eggs, which is so appreciated by North Americans. There’s even a pool. totally worth the drive to the city.
While it would have been nicer to be closer to the city, the fact is you could never have this country feel if it was near the city.

Convenient & close to Golegã Horse fair. Our group of 7 was very comfortable in two double rooms & the apartment. The owner recommended a wonderful local restaurant for dinner. The apartment had a lovely fireplace.
Our friends who stayed in the apartment mentioned there was a bit of an issue shutting the bathroom door. This was minor & everything else was excellent!

The property is perfect by all means. Location can be questionable but it has to do with the reason of your trip. Its really in the middle on nowhere but very relaxing and quiet. Surrounded by a beautiful garden

The ambience and the history of the property is fabulous. OK. Beautiful grounds. The rooms were good size and the beds were comfortable.
No restaurants or stores close within walking distance.

We loved it here! The room was very large, the house was chock full of history and that great family feel. The hostess was amazing. The grounds were beautiful, and our dog loved to roam the premises. Highly, highly recommend it.
The pillows on the bed were a bit flat, and the mattress was a bit too firm for our liking, but those are minor complaints for an overall wonderful stay.

We loved the swimming pool, the property and its huge gardens, fruit trees and the kindness of the owner. The house was sparking clean. Very quiet and mosquito nets in all doors and windows.
The house could use better light bulbs and a couple of extra kitchen utensils.

We had a lovely spacious apartment and our cat was very happy in the apartment as she had direct access to a courtyard. The gardens had lovely large trees for shade and a sparkling pool for swimming. Maria was very helpful and friendly.

In the countryside, big property, felt like you stepped back in time. Wonderful host, great breakfast and nice big swimming pool. The property was very clean and the bedroom downstairs had 2 double beds and an on suite bathroom that was very spacious. Bedroom upstairs also had an on suite bathroom. Outside area to sit, netting in front of the windows and doors for the flies.
As a bigger family we preferred to cook for ourselves every night, and felt the kitchenette could benefit from a few more things like a baking tray for the oven, a few sharp knives, colander for rinsing pasta etc.

Good location 10 minutes from Tomar. Very sweet hostess. Great grounds to exercise the dog. Nice pool.
Need to get to breakfast at 9am to eat scrambled eggs or they’ll be cold. Dark rooms. Quite dated style - but that’s a personal thing. Nothing in the village.

Good location. Very spacious property. Enjoyed playing pool.

We really had a wonderful time at Casa da Avo Genoveva. Despite arriving after check-in time, we were warmly welcomed by the owner, Maria Manuela.
The hotel is very comfortable, carefully decorated, thoughtfully equiped and at a perfect location to reach Tomar. We also liked the generous breakfast very much.
We only regret that we could only stay for one night!

Beautiful gardens. Exceptional breakfast. Laid back with free pool table room & self serve bar. Maria was an exceptional host. Facilities well maintained.

Breakfast was good and tasty. The owner asked us in advance some of the things we would prefer to eat / drink the day before as well.
The space / garden is amazing and the owner is extremely friendly.
I left by mistake my jacket and scarf and she was able to send it to my place afterwards (I paid of course for this, since it was my fault leaving it there in the beginning).
Hope to return again to here.
Nothing negative to point out

This is a magical place. We visited to celebrate my husband's birthday and attend the Golegã horse festival, and it exceeded expectations. We were surprised with a free bottle of espumante as a birthday present, and were warmly welcomed. Specifics: the breakfast was great, with a good selection. The house is enooooooooormous with many different secluded spaces to spend time, including the bar, library and billiards room. The gardens are also extensive, with so many lovely places to sit outside. The room itself was very warm and comfortable, great shower, and the best mattress. Parking was free and easy. The first night we walked 15 minutes to a delicious restaurant that does pork or cod, and was so good. The rest of the time we were only 20 minutes away in Golegã. I suspect this will be our regular place to stay for the festival in years to come! THANK YOU for your welcome and birthday espumante, what a delight!!
If only we could have stayed more than 2 nights!!!!

The setting is superb. Lookout for the runnaway rabbits in the garden. Lots of old things to look at. Filled with history. The hostess Dona Manuela.
The breakfast could have been better for the price we paid.

The owner is really nice and the pool is great to chill
TV could have more options (just the Portuguese basic channels) and breakfast could have more bread or pastries

Can not say enough about the quality of this establishment. The owner was very gracious and welcoming on our arrival.
The property is beautiful and the suite we had was out of this world. It was very comfortable, quiet and extremely clean. The home itself is 400 years old. The breakfast was also very good with a great selection.
The nearest restaurant was at least a 10 minute drive by car but this is a small price to pay to be able to stay at such a beautiful villa.
