Excellent location with very easy access (bike/walking) to both Ars-en-Ré and the beach. Very clean, bright hotel with extremely comfortable large beds. Cycle hire facility is excellent and efficient. Thermal spa facilities are good with very good sauna and steam room. Great parking right in front of the hotel. Pleasant staff who speak good English.
Hotel is very dated inside. Bedrooms have no character and, with the exception of the extremely comfortable large bed, give the impression of being as cheaply kitted out as possible. Horrible industrial carpet which squeaks as you walk on it, no charging points, NO WORKING WIFI in the rooms (or anywhere else to speak of) and given that the internet reception is limited on the island at the best of times, this was very annoying. The bathrooms are not good - a half bath with very limited access (terribly dangerous for an elderly person or anyone with just slightly limited mobility) and an old-fashioned overhead shower with mediocre pressure and poor temperature regulation. Paper cups in the bathroom (??!!) and those awful thin towels that barely cover you as well as a tiny hair dryer that is simply a waste of time.
The lingerie pack (robe , towel, sandals etc) for the spa was good but the means of collecting it and returning it were a bit ridiculous.
Finally, despite the positive aspects of the hotel (of which there are plenty), the hotel lacks atmosphere. And it really needs a refurbishment.

The breakfast was good. The room with a terrace was perfect for our dog and the dog was made welcome in most areas. We did not have any treatments but enjoyed the use of the pool.
For the style and cost of the hotel the "welcome tray" in the room was a little lacking! It was disappointing to be offered only a buffet meal one evening which was mostly cold food and the only hot dishes were very poor. It was also disappointing that alcoholic drinks could not be purchased until 7 pm.

the hotel is a bit old, a bit expensive

location, beds
The hotel was tired and not what the pictures reflected , The spa was in a completely different part of the hotel to the main outdoor pool
The pool area was sparse and with no working toilets which meant you had to walk in a wet costume through the hotel restarts use one the pool was freezing it did not feel like it belonged to the hotel more that it was a
municipal pool the hotel guests could use shared with another set of businesses rude staff , despite advertising a bar there was nowhere to get a drink unless the restaurant was open , so after arriving at 2pm were were unable to get even soft drinks or coffee till 5 hours later
Although we we residents we were refused entrance onto the restaurant in the evening because we hadn’t booked and they were full but we weren’t told we had to book and only 20 people were seated for dinner ? we eventually got a table but the restaurant manager had a very heated discussion with the receptionist for this to happen . we sat as we waited for a table in the bar area the bar person acknowledged us and then disappeared for 20 mins when I went to look for her she was sat on a table with guests chatting . the set menu was basic, expensive and the service was rushed and we felt like we were nuisance rather than a guest. We returned to the room to find the aircon didn’t work At breakfast again the same restaurant manager was rude not just us but other guests too , they ran out of bacon and it took 30 mins to be replaced. when I queried the bill due to the issues we had , we were refunded 2 drinks and breakfast that was 18 euro was reduced to 12 so for 2 people the 400 euro price was reduced by 30 euros . it was my first visits to the island my friend a regular , I would definitely would never stay here again as the write up and pictures do not reflect what you will find when you arrives .

very, very clean. bed was comfortable.
soul-less, dark. no WiFi for 4 days. (IOS devices don’t work. really? in 2022? exterior pool thermostat not working. no toilet near kiddie pool. had to run a 6yr old back to reception, through the bar, through restaurant to a bathroom. more than once. spa facilities are 2nd rate and not worth the trip.

Great position in the centre of the Island, close to beach and Ars en Re centre. Hotel facilities are great, outdoor pool is lovely. Breakfast is good value at 17 euros and lots of it. Gym has cardio and free weights. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Rooms very clean and tidied each day. Bike hire on site and 10 euros a day. The bed was super king size and ultra comfortable!
We had the fixed menu on the first night which wasn’t good and 35 Euro per person, the Al a Carte looked better. Better value to be had in town.

2 days no Wifi. They don't have technical support over the weekend. That is inacceptable for a hotel of that Level nowadays..

Location is close enough to Ars-en-Re main ville to allow for a pleasant walk or a bike ride without having to rely on the car. Also a very short walk to the beach.
Really good sized outdoor swimming pool. Extensive spa facilities.
Massive, properly set out car park!!
Special mention to Vincent in the restaurant/bar, who seemed to be the only calm member of staff during service - everyone else running about in a frenetic way!
Having to book a time slot in advance for the buffet breakfast. Perfectly understandable for lunch and dinner, but breakfast…?
6.0
Good location, short walk or cycle into Ars en Re.
Very clean, nice outdoor pool.
I don’t think the price is justified, it is a basic 3 star hotel at best. Needs a bit of modernisation. Feels a bit like a retirement home.
Breakfast was disappearing at 9.30 despite being served until 10am and had to ask for plates/bread/cutlery to be brought out.
Had dinner in the restaurant on our first night, not great.

Nice location, great pool, comfortable rooms but a bit outdated. Good breakfast.
A bit overpriced, diner menu limited and a bit pricey.

The room was spacious. The large bed was comfortable, the hotel very quiet. It is very close to the beach. The overall feeling in the hotel and its surroundings is one of tranquillity. The bathroom was clean but dated. The outdoor pool was well maintained and pleasant and there was someone present to supervise during the day. The indoor Thalasso pool was small, I would say far too small for the number of rooms in the hotel and was a little tired-looking. The for-hire bikes were robust and perfect for the terrain.
There was a very ugly piece of furniture in our room, a kind of cupboard, which had at some time contained an in-built sink. It had a cheap piece of plywood on top of it. This is not what I expect of a hotel in this price range.
The half-board dinner option gave a choice of dishes but a vegetarian would still find it difficult to eat here.
All of the waiters were very pleasant and efficient, apart from the head waiter who was arrogant and sarcastic on each of the three evenings we spent in the restaurant. This was not a problem for us alone. I observed the same behaviour from him towards the majority of diners. This hotel will only remain value for money if it renovates its bedrooms and Thalasso pool in the near future.

Comfort of beds. Super friendly staff, from restaurant, housekeeping, and front desk super smiling faces in pandemic Covid „pass sanitäre“ days. Grateful memories.

Wi-fi non existent- very poor - very annoying - first thing to change - it’s makes such a difference to your stay -

Modern room and facilities. Excellent location close to the beach. Excellent spa facilities. Great stay. Bikes for hire recommend cycling many bike paths and the island is flat easy to cycle and enjoy the scenery around

Great location, lovely and helpful staff, excellent restaurant.
The wifi didn’t work and the Thalasso pool and jacuzzi were on the cool side.
Daily jugs of water in the room would be nice especially as water is not available in the public areas.

Amazing beds! Staff was incredibly friendly despite masked faces. Housekeeping was super nice. Location is top notch for nature, small village, and discreet dining.
A/C was moderately effective.
