Perfect boutique hotel in a perfect location. Not only did we get a free upgrade to a suite but everything about the hotel was, well, perfect: light, spacious room, beds extremely comfortable, bathroom excellent, good wifi, amazing breakfast, impeccable service, outstanding decor - old world but neither old-fashioned nor remotely shabby. For me, a great hotel is all in the details and they get them all right, everything fully thought out from the guest's point of view.. We were overlooking the IV Novembre square, facing the Torre dell'Orlogio and the side of the Palazzio d'Accursio, right next to the Piazza Maggiore.
Because we were leaving most of our luggage in our hire car, we used their private garage, which is five minutes walk away, very good for the historic centre.
Nothing - all amazing.

The location was both very convenient and absolutely lovely. Piazza Del Nettuno is the perfect spot from which to explore Bologna. The staff at the hotel were wonderful - allowing us to check in shortly after we made our reservation, as well as providing many restaurant and other recommendations.
Breakfast was very limited - I would have liked to see a great variety.

Great location, very clean. Traditional style. Short taxi ride to train station.
Free outdoor evening concerts in August in the nearby square and double glazing kept out most of the noise

We arrived late and were greeted by Antonella who was very helpful finding us somewhere to eat just before the restaurants were closing. The hotel is perfectly situated, the room was clean and quiet and the beds comfortable. The breakfast team were attentive and the breakfast was plentiful, varied and tasty. On our second night Antonella found us an excellent restaurant in a quiet street. Check out was smooth and efficient.
There was nothing we did not like.

Very comfortable room and bed. Quiet with a view of the Duomo. We enjoyed the junior suite which gave us extra space plus a second bathroom

I loved this hotel. Orologio is a wonderful place to stay in Bologna. It’s located right at a corner of the main historical place, the rooms are beautiful. It looks like they have more traditional styled rooms and more modern ones, when booking I opted for the more traditional style. When visiting very old historical cities I like if the hotel design matches and is not too modern and I was very satisfied. Also like to mention that it looks like they upgrade guests if they have this possibility which is a great service to the guest. Service and friendliness deserve to be mentioned specifically – room service for breakfast (see picture) and diner if you like, umbrellas available if it’s raining, you get a free city guide at arrival, big selection of tea in your room, free candies, etc. It’s just the many little details which make a difference. And I also like to mention the room maids, the rooms are very, very clean despite being staffed with furniture which is not easy to clean.
The only thing which in my opinoin might be improved, is that they might add a little enlarging lighted mirror to the bath room. But that’s a personal preference. I like if I have very bright light when doing make up or using my contact lenses.

Situation and location were great
The bed in the next room was quite small for an adult

Very well located for the city centre.
Well appointed room.
Staff charming and helpful.
Enjoyable breakfast.
Nothing really apart from the noise of revellers in the square alongside the hotel late at night.
Plus - if you’re arriving by car make sure you understand the regulations about access to the hotel beforehand.

Location Location Location! Right on the Mai. square and next door to the Duomo, shopping and the street with bars.
Our suite on the top floor had a great view of the main square and was fairly nice.
I’ve received no reply to my request to help us book a restaurant in Bologna, where online reservations are still not a thing. Breakfast was not great either - scrambled eggs should have no shades of grey and green to them!

House was very comfortable and felt very safe. The location was very central and close to restaurants and a grocery store.
It was difficult to use hot water when running the bath, but hot water in the shower worked great.

Location is incredible.
Communication with the hotel was fantastic and we were greeted at 1am after a delayed flight by staff which was so helpful.
Serviced apartment.
Very clean and had everything we needed.
Very affordable.
Because we were a family of 4, the kids needed to sleep on the fold out couch which took away the living space. This was okay as we were there only a couple of days but might have been not ideal for a longer period.
