The pool area & location. Comfortable room with a sea view. A bottle of cava for the birthday was a lovely surprise.
Style hasn’t been updated for a while

The pool, as well as the spa.
Access to the beach is a bit convoluted - it would be great for hotel guests to be able to access the beach from the exterior pool area directly.
In addition, the hotel can be a bit challenging to maneuver around, and some of the rooms don't seem to be fully leveraged (example: the long corridor with furniture leading to the beach access).

They confirmed a bedroom with nice sea view but we could barely see the sea from our bedroom. They say they have a private beach but it is a public beach, and it’s full, there hotelndoesn’t even have sunbeds at the beach. Staff (cleaning lady and one of the receptionists) was yelling/fighting at eachother at reception on arrival, there were no amenities in the bedroom, amenities had to be requested but when we try to call to rquest it the phone didn’t work, they didnt serve food by the pool, and the staff at the snackbar very slow we had to chase them all the time.

Breakfast was great and the spa was exceptional. Massage was not great and the internet did not work in the whole city. The view from the pool was breathtaking.
The hotel is a little outdated

The food, the staff and very quiet and relaxing.
Having both a shower and a bathtub means no more available decent space for the rest.

From the room to the whole boutique hotel, to the location, the food was amazing, everyone was so nice. The spa was the best spot I’ve ever been to, I wish I never had to leave.

The hotel is mark as a 5 starts hotel, probably because the size of the room, but the staff is highly unprofessional and not really welcoming. The hotel is poorly decorated, really tacky. The restaurant is very expensive, even if the breakfast was not bad.The good part is the view on the beautiful Costa Brava Cala, and the spa in the hotel.
It was really disappointing experience for the price we paid, you expect a better service. Not worth it the money, and to the beautiful Cala you can go without being in this hotel.

friendly staff, swimming pool and location
We paid around 200 GBP extra but the seaview room we got was a little disappointing, not much of a view. I assume it was because the hotel was fully booked

One of the priciest in the area, but truly an exceptional hotel. We booked a room with full sea view.
* The location is walkable to, but outside of the super-crowded Platja d'Aro town area, which was perfect. The setting is phenomenal with unobstructed sea views, framed by large pine trees and the rocky shore of the bay. When you seek a change from the pools, a small beach is easily accessible via the gate from the bottom floor of the hotel. There is a path carved into the rocks of the shore that's great to walk or even run in the mornings, all the way to the town on one end, and a few bays further on the other.
* The staff is exceptionally friendly and attentive.
* The included breakfast buffet was very good.
* The facilities were excellent. The bed comfortable, the bath and shower with lots of water pressure. Even though it was August, there were always pool layers available in both sun and shade and one could usually get one of the beds on the lower level as well.
The decor is a little chaotic and out of date, but it gave the property a bit of quirky charm
