The Mill itself is amazing and a truly beautiful location with the river flowing past. Our room was large and quiet and really comfortable - the bed was very comfortable and the bedding was lovely! We had drinks out in the sun by the river in the evening which was lovely and there is a big garden out the back of the rooms which was also great. A really relaxing lovely place to spend some time - I'd definitely go back.
The owner told us that there was only pizzas after 6pm as there was a football match on... we were ok with that, but when we went to order pizzas it turned out they had already closed the kitchen as no one had come in. So a bit of a miscommunication. He was apologetic and totally fine with us bringing a takeaway from outside into the bar and eating it there - gave us plates and cutlery etc.

Staff very accommodating and pleasant/ service good - problem was noisy music at night and residents banging doors repeatedly in bedroom block where if fire door not held it banged very loudly in early hours of morning repeatedly after noisy music event
Disturbed by other residents banging fire doors after music event when accessing bedrooms. 1st night very peaceful - second night disturbed sleep.
Difficult one - how could staff deal with this????

Location, outdoor space to eat with friends who are immunosuppressed, decor of rooms, coffee machine in room, old mill features left as features .
I queried in advance the discrepancies between allergens marked on menu and the allergen list. On arrival the staff member remembered the conversation and had acted by notifying head office.
Last year we came for lunch only, and I feel that the set lunch menu is better now than last year..more interesting choices.
Duvet too warm.
Annoying pipping noise from fire alarm panel in corridor outside room (but I do understand that your staff couldn't deal with it themselves)

Brilliant hotel in an old water mill, which has kept its features and history. Situated in the town and next to a road. Great setting, with the sound of the water running through.

Didn't have breakfast, but we did have a light supper in the bar - we had been at a lunch party! The restaurant was very busy, but the staff still found time to give us prompt, excellent and friendly service.
The location is wonderful, especially the entrance over the bridge over the mill stream and the visibility of the mill machinery, and we particularly liked the very simple but well designed furniture in out room - perfectly fitted to the 'industrial' setting.
We were surprised that there was no folder in our room giving basic information like the WiFi code, and how to operate the very 'High tech' shower.

Great location, great food. Polite staff, nice room.
Could have been told about house keeping coming at 9.30 . And a do not disturb sign in room would have been good.

The restaurant is nice, food is excellent so this is a lovely place to eat
The hotel itself is old and dated, whichever part you stay in there is noise. The rooms I have stayed in are full of cobwebs on the wooden beams, and some rooms are hard to navigate if you are tall because of said beams. If it is summer, you get the noise from the pub gardens, if autumn / winter the noise travels from the downstairs pub and restaurant.
Even though I pay through booking.com they insist on taking my credit card which inevitably gets charged again and you have to chase a refund. I stayed at this hotel for ease of location for work, but it needs a lot of work to bring it up to standard especially the precarious car park that damages your tyres.

The main hotel/ restaurant are both brilliant, full of character and a truly beautiful building and surroundings, all the interior is wonderfully done and the staff themselves are 10 out of 10. Very highly recommend booking in advance for a meal in the restaurant as it is always busy, with good reason as the food was excellent. Decor of the restaurant is very well done, different styles on each wall and the hops from the ceiling make it work really well. I imagine the outside area is stunning in the summer and the location in the town makes it a terrific base for the Cotswolds.
We stayed in the red brick building and while it is hardly the hotels fault, the ground floor stunk of damp and you could see mould coming through on the carpet due to RECENT flooding (its what happens when the building is adjacent to a river). I make a point of recent as it can't be too harshly blamed on the hotel. It was attempted to cover with spray in the mornings but by afternoon this has worn off, the sand bags left outside the front door on the porch could really have been moved. Bathroom could have done with a proper clean of the mould and behind the door there were large black marks from the hinge. Petty things that didn't impact our stay.

Both my partner and I were very satisfied with all aspects of our stay, the only slight disappointment being that our rooms were in separate buildings, (We did. though, book at quite short notice).
Both rooms, however, were very comfortable, clean and well appointed.
All staff that we met were most helpful and friendly. We also were fascinated by and interested in the history of Egypt Mill and its workings - a real added bonus!
There really was nothing that we didn't like and we most certainly hope to stay at Egypt Mill in the future.

Beautiful hotel on the river,
The room was clean and the bed was extremely comfortable,
You can sit by the river to relax listening to the water or you can choose to sit in the beautiful garden, mere feet away and hear nothing but the birds.
