Warm, quirky, family home-like stay

I liked everything. Lovely place with a family atmosphere. Makes you feel at home. The staff is genuine and caring. The location is very good. Very close to town or to the main bus stop (the strand). You can watch beautiful sunsets a few steps from the hotel.

No lift, need to climb the stairs. So if you have leg issues-it's a challenge. Staff were really kind to swap my room from the highest to the lowest and made my stay much easier.

Excellent Service and Cleanliness

Our room was perfect for our stay, it looked out towards the monument, cliffs, the beach and beyond. A absolutely stunning view from the room. The beds were comfortable with lovely cotton linens and duck down quilts and pillows. The room was well equipped with the usual kettle, coffee etc. The extras, not typically found in a hotel room, such as a coffee pod machine for a decent espresso and a fridge, were both excellent and a real bonus. We will keep these extras in mind when booking to stay in Bude again. The room was nicely sized and very clean, hats off to the staff who maintain the rooms; they do a splendid job. The staff were friendly, always ready with a smile, and happy to engage in a quick chat. They are a delightful group of people who ensure you feel cared for whilst in their presence. The food was excellent, we had a light cooked breakfast on both mornings and it was delicious, it set us up for the day. We returned in the evening to have a meal, and again, we could not find fault, it was lovely tasty food, well presented and well cooked. Throughout our two night stay the service was impeccable. A very clean, well run family hotel. We will be back.

Unfortunately, the water pressure in the shower isn't strong, but it's still functional. It's likely that if the owners could improve it, they would. The reduced pressure might be attributed to being on the top floor. Nonetheless, we prefer the stunning views from the top floor over the possible better water pressure available on lower floors.!

Loved it, I was travelling on my own felt safe, friendly staff and will be booking again.

Lovely friendly hotel, staff were excellent. Room was airy, clean big tv on the wall. Fantastic location. Wonderful breakfast I should a taken a photo of the pancakes could have had seconds.

Lovely Hotel

Great location over looking the sea, comfortable bed, very clean. Breakfast was amazing and the staff were friendly and helpful

Stayed here before and enjoy it's quirkiness, staff and location. Would use again.

Lovely hotel, amazing staff and food.

Great location, really lovely family run business, great breakfast. Super helpful. Went out of their way to support us attending a nearby wedding.

We did get woken up by music from the restaurant downstairs at 7am on the Sunday morning. Having been downstairs it wasn’t that this was turned up particularly loud, I think was due to placement of Sonos speakers under the ceiling, when these are designed to be at table top height and project sound around the room, the placement was leading them to project sound up through to our room through the floor. (I have the same speakers at home).

Loved Bude, loved the hotel, staff are an asset

A lovely small hotel with beautiful rooms, the small fridge was an added bonus, staff were amazing and so helpful and friendly. Breakfast was outstanding , location is perfect

The showers although look like newly fitted and decorated have quite low water pressure, maybe due to us being on the top floor but wouldn’t stop us staying again . Parking can be tricky but we managed

Attentiveness to the room needs to be better I.E no water bottles,no milk left we had to ask twice for. Servicing the room was limited…shower wasn’t cleaned,dirty towel left in the shower,tables not wiped over and again no water bottles left after room clean

I travelled around 50 countries and stayed in plenty of accomodations in different flavours and sizes. The Edgcumbe Hotel is one of the best I stayed because of staff, location and service. I highly recommend this place for holistic experience in Cornwall.

Do not miss out

The hospitality shown by Emma and her team was outstanding, nothing is too much trouble.The location is excellent and the accommodation is spotless. We ate in the restaurant and also had breakfast, the food is very good. The breakfast certainly sets you up for the day ready for some of the amazing walks and sights around Bude. Highly recommended.

The only minor downside was the water pressure for the shower as we were on the top floor however, that said it would definitely not stop us returning to this excellent, well presented family run hotel.

Comfortable and very friendly - would go back.

Great location and really friendly staff. The breakfast was lovely.

The shower was very weak and there was no milk in the room for the tea and coffee. At night the room is quite noisy, but the bed is VERY comfortable.

Location of the hotel was fantastic, very close to the beach. Lovely staff who were very friendly. Room was clean & modern.

Menu in the restaurant should have more options, very limited menu. (Evening menu). Shower in the bedroom was very slow, not enough power.

The location was perfect, the hotel was nicely decorated and the staff were wonderful. My room was very clean and had everything I needed. The breakfast was great too.

Nice, friendly hotel in excellent location with good restaurant, but a little cramped.

Efficient, friendly service throughout. We enjoyed the food and ambience in the deck restaurant. The location was brilliant for exploring the whole of Bude.

Somewhere to sit inn either of our two bedrooms, which were more like dormitories.
