Well situated and in a very convenient position to numerous popular sites.
The furniture whilst in keeping with the building did suffer from its age.

Location was good. The bar and restaurant had a great atmosphere
Bit tight on parking but they were extremely helpful and allowed us to get 7 cars parked together on the premises.

Just everything. The rooms were comfortable clean and well appointed. The bar and restaurant area were just what we needed.

Great location in centre of Bala , rooms are lovely . Cosy bar and lounge .
Dog friendly and our kids loved the rooms
There seemed not enough staff . Kitchen was closed most days .

Every thing was great. Would recommend to a friend.
As I am older I would have liked a down stairs room, but I understand there js none.

Outdoor space is good on a hot day
Staff only arrive on site to serve breakfast at 7am when breakfast is meant to start at 7am, resulting in lots of guests waiting around and in my case we had to skip cooked breakfast.
4.0
Good location and staff friendly including reception and waiting staff.
Good quality home made food for people without allergies
Staff including chef/cook did not seem to have awareness of gluten free diet. No gluten free bread available at breakfast over two days.
No food available at hotel on first night and second night we decided to go to a pub quiz advertised in the hotel room.
The pub was packed and there was no room to eat or any pub quiz.
Whilst none of this was unsurmountable I felt the price we paid was quite high so expected a better service.

We stayed for 4 nights and what a lovely time we had. We took our pooch and he was thoroughly spoilt from the time we arrived and every morning at breakfast! Very friendly staff and nothing was too much trouble!
The only issue we had was the shower managed to flood the bathroom on the 2nd morning but otherwise was fine.

The room was great, food was great, bed was great. We enjoyed our stay, the whole hotel is really well presented and it was extremely popular with locals making the most of the weather. We ate supper in the reception room and the food was very nice, lots of flavour.
They were playing music so loud until 11pm at night like it was a nightclub. I like a bit of background music, but it was extremely overbearing. It was a really nice hotel, I just don't understand why they didn't play it a bit quieter? I don't think it was a special event?

excellent location, beautiful old, well maintained building

Great location, bar food was really good and the bar and staff was also really good.
The noise was terrible! 1st floor above bar so VERY loud, every time somebody passed our door it sounded like it was creaking open, 1st night lots of noise, nest morning 6.15am staff member obviously lives in alarm goes off then 15 mins later dragging tables and chairs around in room below us, lots more banging then about 7.30 am onwards lots a foot traffic past room so basically I would of got more sleep staying at home for the weekend ! Second night again dame noise then 3.13am-4am sounded like the 4 lads outside were trying to kick a side door in which was smashed the next day, 4am power cut so no idea what they did to cause that but no power until about 7.30am next morning. No phone in rok. To contact staff and no idea how you would other than to start wandering around the hotel/pub shouting for them which at 3-4am would probably not have gone down well with other guests (if they had managed to sleep through the noise!?) Total waste of a weekend and money regarding the hotel but I would definitely return to the bar/restaurant as the food and staff were great.

Breakfast was very nice and also the bar meal. Location was perfect in the centre of Bala
Bedroom and bathroom was a bit dusty (bedside lamp in bedroom and towelrail in bathroom)One window would not open in bedroom due to it having been painted recently in the refurbishment!

Lovely historic hotel Central location Clean and comfortable
Would stay here again assuming minor hitches are temporary
Seemed short staffed at breakfast time but very pleasant. Fended for ourselves. Toaster looked a bit fierce for DIY. Short of hot water for tea and coffee

To be honest. I had one of the refurbished rooms… and really nice it was too.
The food was exceptional
Small issue. Socket no where near the Kettle..

This is a beautiful hotel and the recently refurbished rooms were stunning. Unfortunately I was only staying one night but I wished I'd booked longer! The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in and the shower was heaven! Staff were welcoming and friendly and went the extra mile.
Nothing!

Friendly staff, amazing large room and a power shower!. Free parking.
Breakfast somewhat adhoc having to ask for crokery, condiments etc. Hearty fry up for all that.
