Great breakfast

The location was really beautiful had views of the mountains from our window, bed was also very comfy. Bus stop right near the inn which made it very easy to get into Ambleside and to get to the in from the train station in Windermere. The food at the restaurant was nice and the chill out space downstairs was nice and large with plenty of areas to hang out in.
The pool had swimming lessons going on in the afternoons with children which meant the pool area was very noisy and not very nice to be in. I wish they would have mentioned that before booking as that was a big selling point.
There was also a bit of mould in the bottom of the shower which for the price would have expected better.

Staffs, beds, breakfast, parking, the ancient designs
Should the try to bring another chefs to get more main courses

The range of food for dinner was disapointing

The team were brilliant, nothing seemed too much trouble, I do wish I had booked a bigger room, although very adequate, I would have liked a bit. Ire space. The food was lovely with a good selection. The Canadian ( sorry forgot her name) server was just a delight! Hence tipping both nights.
Room was a little small, though that was my fault as there are bigger room options.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. The meals were fantastic and they had an amazing leisure area
Only a few car parking spaces and if you arrive late( like we did), You have to park at there other hotel. That wouldn’t have been a problem, but it was raining and I arrived back soaked

Lovely hotel, nice decor and very clean. Great food and very nice conservatory with an outside garden. Staff was friendly and helpful. Comfortable bed and great bathroom. Really liked their coffee and bar selections. The pool was very clean.
The room was very small. The pool is also quite small.

Evening menu is basic pub food of little variety or originality. No roast option on Sunday was a disappointment, chose the pie of the day - in reality a stew with a puff pastry top that turns to flakes of powder when cut into, this is not a pie and should not be called as such.
Breakfast is very good with lots of options for everyone, pity about the dinner menu.

all fine, no problems or issues
always as before

Location. Clean room. Accepts dogs.
Some staff quite rude. Pool area needs a repaint. Food over-priced and very average. Allowed one mug at breakfast which have to re-use between tea and coffee. Parking very limited.

A great atmosphere, lovely pool and sauna with good food and comfortable room. I’d definitely recommend

The location is just perfect and it’s so dog friendly, really lovely especially at Christmas!!
We have stayed here 3 times now and honestly the majority of the staff just make it. However this time I felt the quality of the food, especially the breakfast had really declined, for example, the pastries this morning were really stale and the preserves were poor quality and pretty tasteless.

Loved the room - very spacious and the hotel itself was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Breakfast was very good as was the meal in the restaurant - eventually!
Waited half an hour on both days for breakfast... we really wanted to eat and go! We had the same wait for the evening meal and had to wait for the side order to arrive after we reminded the waiter we hadn't had it. Also internet was useless in the room. I planned to do some work whilst away but this was impossible.

The staff were all lovely excellent customer service! A special mention to Georgia who was extremely good during our evening meal in the conservatory! Also at breakfast! Even brought our dog a blanket to sit on!
The breakfast was amazing far better than we expected. When we walked it immediately felt like Christmas! Fabulous!
The only thing that was disappointing was that the rooms were tired! Needed grouting and seal ant around the shower tray! Black mould ! Mildew. Also on the ceilings scuff mark on the floor oh and blonde hairs on the mirror! Other than that lovely!

Great location. Room was fab!
A few more staff needed in the dining room.

breakfast was okay but could be improved.

We have stayed here before and have always enjoyed the experience. Location, layout and all the staff make for a very pleasurable trip.
The room we had this time was the best we’ve stayed in, roomy, well appointed with glorious views of the fells.
Great selection of beer, nice tasty food, lovely atmosphere in the walkers bar.
High quality breakfast included.
No problem parking, parked right outside the front door, we were extremely lucky.
If I was ‘nit picking’……..
bin in the bathroom not emptied, broken curtain hooks, a little expensive and we were told we weren’t allowed in the lounge after our walk on the afternoon we had checked out.

First impressions was excellent.
The deluxe double was definitely not a deluxe double, it was tiny and the on suite was like a caravan size so very disappointed, noise outside from the huge extractor fan from kitchens below ment we had to keep windows closed and on a hot nite it was terrible...money added on Bill in restraunt and food portion differed to wat other people had on there plates, Wen I asked the staff they said it was a new chef.

spacious areas to sit and very welcoming
extra daily payment for 2 dogs rather than one off payment per stay

After a long day walking it was a pleasure to find a warm and inviting Hotel waiting for us. The reception team were friendly and helpful. Our room was very large, bright, with comfortable beds and a spacious bathroom. We enjoyed a drink in the lounge, before having an excellent dinner. Breakfast was outstanding with a wide range of choices. This was my second time staying here and it was as good as I remember.
I wish I could have stayed for 2 nights.

The location was great
rooms are very small and not the cleanest. our friends has to move as their bed was full of dog hair. we booked a deluxe double which was tiny so I can’t imagine how small a standard double is.
The evening food was disgusting, not at all fresh and hugely over priced. Breakfast was nice though.
Not the best hotel but not the worst either, just okay.

The Staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. The facilities were brilliant. The Breakfast had lots of choice and was tasty
The room temperature at night was extremely hot, even with our radiator turned off. We needed to leave our window open all night to make it comfortable. The was the 1st week of March.
