Good location. Lovely gardens . Good food .
Nice to have an apartment within a hotel. Good for families .
Property is in need of modernisation. Leisure facilities and hotel could be lovely but sadly no investment in, or repair to broken aspects of building .

room and views fantastic facilities great
decor very tired needed updating stained sink in double bedroom very off putting just needs tlc

The size of the place and the bar area, gardens and exercise facilities were excellent. The room was large and had several facilities including a hairdryer, fridge, sink, cooker. The sea view out onto the gardens was lovely as was the tv area with two reclining chairs in the room. i had a very comfortable and restful night.
The food was fine and cooked well but fairly standard stuff. The breakfast was relatively basic and had no coffee option other than black coffee (ie no Latte, Cappucino etc). That said, there was nothing wrong with it and this was all reflected in a very cheap cost. The hotel is also very dated decor-wise with some areas smelling a little musty. Not awful and if you like kitsch it was fine. With a few pounds spent on a redecoration this could definitely be one of, if not the best hotel in Exmouth. Staff excellent though.

Loved the size of the room, comfy bed, and great views!
The power on the shower wasn't very good

The Breakfast was excellent plenty of choice with a great view to start the day. The room was a great size some of the furniture looking a little tired but the room was very clean. The view from the room was excellent. The swimming pool and saunas was excellent came in handy for when it rained.
Parking was a little tight i did have somebody scratch my car but thats people that cannot drive. Sometimes when on holiday you dont always want to book meals as you are out for the day. I was not possible to get any food without booking which was the only negative.

All staff great. All food plus the bar very good. Outside pool plus gardens excellent. Didn't use the indoor pool. Very large room with an excellent sea view that had very large windows that open. Makes a great change, when most hotels have windows that don't open. Large opening windows are a big plus for anyone that is claustrophobic.
Hotel is in a great location with a very good local bus service.
Bathroom a bit dated but adequate.
Would have liked to have available sandwiches etc, in the the evening, at the bar. Instead of only having a sit down meal in the main restaurant or bar restaurant.
Outside appearance of the hotel building, especially the rear looks a bit sorry for it's self and needs a few repairs.

Our two bedroom apartment was very spacious with a good size TV. Plenty of storage space. Beds were comfortable.
The Sunday lunch was great, really enjoyed it. It’s quite popular so you need to book it ahead. Children spent a lot of time in outdoors and indoors pools, swam in the sea- 5 min walk, well used sauna and gym.
Our apartment windows were facing the front of the hotel and car park. I am a very light sleeper so I could hear cars leaving and arriving at night… our neighbours walking on a creaky floor, taking a shower etc.

Arrived earlier than expected but suite was ready for us - quick unpack and into the pool! Had read enough reviews and local newspaper articles to know resort would be dated - this was not an issue - everything worked ( some better than others ) and staff were upbeat. Breakfast set us up for the day & girls there very efficient.
Strange, torturous route to the indoor pool and although the reception and public area was as expected many of the corridors were quite scuffed and a refresh of carpet and furnishings would be pleasant.

Beautiful setting and views

Clean bedding and room, lovely food. Grounds immaculate swimming and leisure facilities very well presented. Views from my room were wonderful.
Bedroom pillows bit lumpy, the weather! Staff were helpful, but some a little miserable. Some parts of the building was a bit dated but didn't spoil the stay.

I liked everything about the Devoncourt Resort! From the moment I e-mailed to ask for special consideration of my disability, the staff couldn't do enough to make my stay comfortable and trouble-free. Checking in was warm and welcoming yet efficient; assistance was offered for my luggage; questions were answered politely and so forth. It felt more like a homecoming to one's family than taking up lodgings with a business.
The room was fabulous! Gorgeous views over the gardens and out to sea and windows that actually opened wide so plenty of air. Luxurious bathroom, too.

Location was fantastic . Lovely well maintained grounds . Only a short walk to the beach . Lovely friendly staff . I can’t rate the food as we didn’t have breakfast . Rooms were a great size with a full size fridge .
My room was sea view but looked out onto an ugly flat roof ! When I opened my curtains there was a workman on the roof . There was no warning of this . My daughters also had a room . Theirs had a wonderful view . The shower was on the cold side and very little pressure . My daughters shower was also inadequate . Rooms were dated . Could do with a refurbishment but that said we had a great stay and due to location would go again .

Unfortunately we could not have dinner as the restaurant was booked out to an outside party. However, breakfast was excellent and we are well looked after by Angela
The cleaning of the bathroom could have been improved over sample tiles grouting, the grouting the tiles et cetera

Excellent staff especially Bryony on reception and Angela and Sarah on breakfasts. Lovely gardens and swimming pools. Great views and location. All staff were welcoming and helpful.
Furniture is dated in our room. Deep step down from bathroom to bedroom not ideal for the elderly.

The facilities are fantastic, grounds are well kept, indoor & outdoor pools are fab.

rooms are a little dated but not uncomfortable

Attentive staff, good food
Room not ready on check in, we were asked to wait in the bar area until it was ready. The Room was very disappointing, not only tiny but very dated, dirty toilet, dirty carpet with crumbs everywhere.
Only one mug and one teaspoon provided. Went to complain at Reception and a member of staff from Reception arrived with extra mug and apologised for the state of the room. We were told that the hotel was fully booked and no other room available.

Breakfast average
3.9
On arrival at the Devoncourt, the receptionist told me that my young daughter and I had actually been upgraded to a larger room with a sea view, which was wonderful. The beds were very comfy and it was a nice warm room as the weather was a bit chilly. The view was stunning (despite the bad Easter weather!!) Breakfast was delicious with great choice, you could have as much as you wanted. Staff were helpful and friendly. The pool and jacuzzi were lovely - perfect for when the weather wasn't great. Gardens were beautiful and would be fantastic to sit out in the summer.
We didn't eat in the bar / restaurant in the evening as it looked quite expensive and not a great deal of choice.

Best hotel breakfast ive had in some time!

The staff in the restaurant and bar were both friendly and efficient. The view and the sun on the balcony were memorable. The back gate was opened quickly when the lock would not work.I am sad to hear the wonderful garden is to be built on.The staff at reception were all one would want.
It would have been nice to be able to order daily newspapers.
3.9
The staff were lovely and helpful, and breakfast was good. Overall, our stay was pleasant apart from not liking the room.
The room was dated, and it didn't have a bath. It was next to the kitchen, so we could smell the food.
