Lovely period hotel with a great view. Room comfortable with lovely bath. Food good. Staff friendly.
Definitely recommend.
A little difficult getting to our room on 3rd floor as lift only goes to 2nd floor.

A very beautiful hotel reminded me of a vectoring times. The hotel was well maintained.
The hotel was fantastic and the staff were excellent.

Location
Poor upkeep, in desperate need of updating - no adequate shelves in bathroom for toiletries. No atmosphere in public or dining room areas - all outdated
3.7
Nice location, big spacious room, nice bath, clean, parking.
Cold rooms, we needed heaters cause they kept heating low on top floor
Absent staff, sleepery in arguments when asked .
Getting taxi or uber from the hotel to Bath, quite an adventure cause there are none almost.. .

Lovely clean, new room
Dark car park

Location, stunning old building and friendly staff
A bit dated interior and price is a but expensive considering this. Same for the bar menu etc.

The property is nice, surrounded by nature. Our room is old-style decorated yet it has all the required facilities. Free parking.
Although there is a lift, there are also steps on the way to our room. This is a bit inconvenient for travelers with large/heavy luggage. All other was good for us.

Breakfast excellent and no trouble ordering my vegetarian sausages. Reception staff great especially George and Elitharius. Chris was lovely behind the bar and we had a great chat. Look forward to coming back sometime soon.
A couple of plugs didn’t work in our room (61) but I know staff would have sorted if I asked.

Location was good, very handy for Bath but lovely to be in the countryside. Great scenery.
Our room on the 3rd floor was very warm ( all corridors on that floor were v warm too) and we both found it too warm to sleep well, even with the window open. We left the window open all the next day and it was better the next night.

Very friendly reception on arrival. Room and facilities were all very clean and well cared for

Location was good & so was the size of the bedroom (#25). The reception staff were professional and nice.
Very dated hotel overall. The shower is very poor: it is only with a fixed head (which is too low for a 6ft person) & the pressure is very low. The bathroom fan is really noisy, the mirror still steams etc. The breakfast was pretty basic: basic bread, croissants, cooked bacon, baked beans, sausages & scrambled eggs. Apple or orange juice (not great), few fruits, yogurts & tea/coffee. Don’t expect fruit salad, cold meat, choice of eggs or breads with seed or bagels.
Staff on the 3rd floor made some noise until 2am one night & it wasn’t nice or relaxing.

We were there for a large party and, considering some people did not turn up for the lunch, I think the dining staff coped admirably they were polite and attentive. I asked for an iron and ironing board which arrived at our room at about the same time as we did. Generally the waiting staff were excellent at removing used dishes without disturbing us.
Perforce we had a double bed as, when I booked, it was all the hotel had available. For me I am tall, the bed was short - ot the duvet cover was,. I like my bedclothes to come up round my neck. To achieve this I either and to move down in the bed or hang my feet over the end of the bed. Not too comfortable whichever way. The toilet was difficult to use as it needed several pulls of the handle to get sufficient water to clear it - maybe it had a special way of using it! I found the shower floor very slippery and would have liked some sort of bar/handle to hold onto.

The location was good, parking available
the room looked a lot worse than the photos on the website. The property does not offer daily housekeeping. For £85 a night I would expect the room to be cleaned and fresh towels. I was told it will be cleaned on the third day, we came back after being out all day and the room still was not clean.
