Very well maintained property, though it's a 150 years old bungalow. We wanted to experience that and really enjoyed the overall bungalow experience.
Breakfast is good, big room & double blanket really helped as it can get really cold at night.
Location: close to town/bus stand. But it's a 10 min walk. Night walk can be a bit difficult as no light or people after 8pm.
Room has no mirror, TV doesn't work, and for dinner, it has only pizza option.

Lots of atmosphere, location, staff
It’s a bit outdated

Beautiful views nice staff

Very old British building with a lot of charme (like downton abbey). Room was equipped with a fire place, which we didn‘t need. The stuff is very helpful, we got a breakfast box for our visit in Horton plains. The room was quit and had a good wifi.
Because it’s an old building it offers not the comfort like new hotels

the building is super nice. i had some problem with my suitcase, they tried to find somebody...
breakfast is in another building, you have to look for it. as we went at the very beginning of the breakfast-period, we got some omelette only, and later we found out that there would have been other things, too. never mind, it was okay.

What I liked the most was the hospitality of the staff. Also the location is really good, walkable distance from the center and all shops and restaurants. The staff will advise and help you with everything you need.
Maybe the bathroom should be renovated but everything was good and I am happy with the service provided.

It was full of antiques, the rooms were large & comfortable, the staff were very helpful & made every effort to ensure our stay was comfortable & the food was delicious, tasty & the quantities were great. at half the price what you would pay in a restaurant. The hotel was close to the town centre & to the sight seeing places we wanted to go.

travene is a beautiful historic building. we actually were upgraded to their sister property next door (for a few dollars more. it was a great deal. great location. friendly helpful staff. the manage dave robson was super helpful with everything, our tours, transit to next town, etc.
it’s actually perfect

The hotel is a bungalow from the British era which has retained it's charm and originality. A very cozy place with fireplace in the room. The staff was great, especially Robson. Very near the city center and great breakfast too!

Starting with the location, the place is well located near the center, easily accessible to the town. The rooms are spacious, cozy and clean. Not to forget, the interior is gorgeous and it has a fireplace too which was a life saviour in the cold weather :) Not to forget the staff, Ashane, Robson and Sydney, all were very gentle, humble and welcoming. They were really helpful and ready to go extra mile to make us feel at home. The breakfast was Yumm :) HIGHLY RECOMMENDED AND VALUE FOR MONEY!
There's NOTHING not to like. 😊

Originally booked Trevene but as the hotel was still under renovation they kindly gave me rooms at the Panaroma Green View Hotel for the same price. It's their sister hotel and right next door.
The rooms at Panaroma were large and spacious. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was large, clean, spacious with new fittings.
The breakfast buffet was simple but excellent.
The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. Especially Robsan and one other gentleman whoose name escapes me right now.
The hotel is well placed, just a few minutes from the center of Nuwara Eliya.

It was a very interesting experience: old villa with fireplace. Really cousy place! And manager with chief were great and really good persons. They were very polite and made for us a late dinner because we arrived at night. Really good service and nice aria!

The entire hospitality was very good provided us with really lovely and tasty breakfast worth the money paid. The manager roseyn was very kind and provided really good service to us.
There is nothing we dint like at the property.
3.5
Close in to town, good breakfast, historical building with all the limitations that go with it.
Dark room, dim energy efficient lighting.
4.6
The staff was very nice, especially Robsan who was very helpful. The house is very nice too (old colonial style) and located close to the city centre, yet has peace and quiet. I had a “budget room” which was clean, but felt a bit old/ had no charme, but still costs almost 50US$. Breakfast was quite poor.
