Beautiful place. Everything was spectacular. It was my treat on the Camino. A little pricy for a pilgrim but worth it. Especially the breakfast was amazing.

Wonderful and carefully renovated place with a lovely garden, green patio and a nice outdoor pool to relax. The owner and her team are very welcoming and personally care for the wellbeing of each guest. You will start the day with a nice breakfast with many choices and variations every day. The location is close to many sites and you get good restaurant recommendations. We had the pleasure of joining dinner on site one evening. This is an exception, but if you have the chance take it. Highly recommended.

Everything was lovely. Such a shame we only stayed one night. Ideal for day trips and relax. The breakfast was wonderful.

This has been the most magical place ever! The rich history and every attention to detail, makes Quinta Do Monteverde a MUST stay in my opinion! We were greeted by the owner and given a private tour around the property! I WILL be back!
Absolutely nothing!

This place is so beautiful in every way. If you are looking to relax ‘away from it all’ in a stunning setting this is the place to be.
There is nothing to not like about this place.

A lovely tranquil atmosphere, where you're made to feel at home. Breakfast is relaxed and self service. There is a great living/ games room with a pool table, chess and a bar. The room was actually more like a small apartment with a basic kitchenette with microwave and sink in a living room when you first come in and the bedroom and bathroom beyond that at the rear. The bathroom was modern and clean. The decoration of the rooms made you feel like you were in a traditional country home and there was nice touches like good toiletries and a small port for each guest. There was a table and chairs on the terrace in front of each room from which you could see the main house, church and the sea. The receptionist provided a map of the local town and recommended restaurants, as well as explaining travel (driving only) and parking to the local town of Viana do Castelo that is worth seeing.
The property is located a good 20 minute walk from the restaurants and beach, although there is a cafe and a tapas bar located a bit closer around a 10-15 minute walk away. There's also a Brazilian grill restaurant that is a short walk away, which the hotel didn't mention when they provided information about the area. I'm not sure if it's because it's new or if it just wasn't a place they were recommending. It's not a major matter, but I didn't enjoy the smell of mothballs from the sheets and would prefer a fresh smell. Also, the bar/games room needed airing as it smelt slightly damp. You should aim to arrive at breakfast at the start as buffet items weren't replenished and scrambled eggs and bacon were cold and mostly gone if you arrived even half an hour after 9am.

Just arrived home from a stay for a friends wedding. We wanted to stay somewhere a little off the beaten track and just re-set and relax.
The view and facilities were fantastic. Vanessa and the homeowner Fatima were both extremely helpful in providing recommendations, travel etc. The breakfast had a lovely variety and the rooms were very comfortable. Would highly recommend to anyone considering!

Quinta do Monteverde is an absolutely beautiful property. they were kind enough to upgrade us to the sea view room. the room itself was charming and well equipped. they cleaned it every day and provided new toiletries. the grounds are well maintained and the staff is helpful. we highly recommend it for a getaway from noisy cities.
p.s. breakfast was delicious and served in a charming little house.

This was one of the most beautiful places we stayed while walking the Camino de Santiago. The room and the grounds were beautiful. Loved those heavy wooden shutters to keep the sun out in the mornings. Décor was beautiful.
We loved sitting outside and going in the pool.
Breakfast was exceptional in the morning.
Appreciated the high quality toiletries and the welcome treats.
Also liked the "honest bar" option.
Staff was very helpful, kind, and accommodating when my husband encountered a minor health issue! We were very thankful for this kindness and hospitality.
Wish there had been dinner options available at the home. We would have definitely dined there versus going out to eat.

Fantastic hotel in historic buildings, on beautiful grounds. Beyond excellent service, since we were the only guests that night! Great room with comfortable beds and a very nice bathroom with shower in the tub. Outstanding breakfast with so much to choose from. Perfect location for a luxury stay on the Camino Portugués!

Gracious country estate with lovely grounds and a very personal feel. Beautiful breakfast spread, served in a charming room or outside under the grape arbor. Helpful staff who offered great recommendations.

So very beautiful, both the grounds, the building and decor. It’s an old, gated estate with lovely antiques and a sumptuous breakfast. We could access beer, wine, etc on the honor system.
Our room was fit for a king; seriously! There were 3 in our group. We were given a huge suite with 2 rooms, one at each end of a luxurious living room. Can’t say enough about it!
No complaints, it was perfection.

Our stay at the Quinta was simply exquisite! The building and gardens were full of charm and character. The room was comfortable and the view was amazing out to the Atlantic Ocean. Some special features we loved were the chance to finish our day with a glass of Porto while playing pool together in the charming space of the games room, the attention to every detail from Fatima and Vanessa are as outstanding. We really loved the place!!

This was a lovely property, I wish we had more time to enjoy the facilities. I loved all the finishing touches, this is a really unique country home. The receptionist was lovely and very accommodating. The breakfast was especially great, they had homemade cakes, fresh juice, good coffee and vegan options.

This is an amazing place-probably one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed. It is about.5 miles off the Camino and so worth it. The gardens, the church behind the home, the host, and even the sheets made me happy! One of the women who works on the property was so kind to me, she was helpful when my phone died and I could not find my way off the Camino. An all around 10!

Had to be very careful taking a shower in a step in tub with a slippery bottom.Definitely needed a large rubber/plastic shower mat.

As we drove through the wooden gates we felt like we'd time-traveled back to the 17th century albeit with 21st century appointments. The grounds are large and impeccably maintained with beautiful stonework lush vegetation and gorgeous flowers. The main house is spectacular while our two-story apartment with dining/living room full kitchen and master suite were a very welcome change from the cozy Porto B&B we'd left that morning.Simon gave us a thorough tour pointing out the common (game, honor bar) rooms the dining hall and the swimming pool. He continued to be very helpful during out two-night stay. An abundant breakfast is served in a stunning hall with period furniture.

Wonderful quinta in a fantastic location with super guest facilities and beautiful grounds. Carla was a wonderful host and provided us with lots of information to make our stay more enjoyable. We stayed in the 2-bedroom cottage which had everything we needed and more. It was a lovely quiet, private space. Breakfast was exceptional and varied slightly each day (I loved the baked apples). Our family made full use of the tennis court, swimming pool and pool room. We will definitely stay here again when we return to this part of the world.
We could not find fault
