I was staying to inspect rentals to live in. A local assisted me to book here, knowing it. Right behind the beach. Reasonably clean.
Wifi terrible, Couldn't even book an uber to depart. Those I shared a room with were pot smokers, which is fine.
After two nights, I was asked to leave due to my age (we hadn't seen anything on the booking about age before booking). Yet others of a similar age group were not told to leave. So many left due to the treatment of a few, leaving the pot smokers there, and the non-drug takers just left there. I beleve the manager's name maybe was Frank - known I'm told for making decisions according to the person, not the law. I'm a regular normal person, working, etc etc - only booked whilst inspecting rentals to live for 3 days.
Yes we are lodging a report with correct legal bodies with respect to this decision, and trreatment which caused alot of stress to regular normal people.. The funny thing, aside from backpacker rooms, the motel rooms were virtually empty which no one could afford to stay for a week - and didn't have $700 for a motel for a week which was offered or leave. Told this place, great bads aside, is the worst of the backpackers in the area. Coffs was recommended to a few of us leaving Brisbane. Sad to say the area was nice, but this will be remembered for many years Even Byron Bay backpackers & Brisbane backpackers were fantastic and welcoming. This was a disgrace. The irony I was called for job to run a hotel down the road at the same time. Be careful how you treat people. And to reiterate, no one has seen any age limit when booking so perhaps it needs to be cleared ie at the top of the booking. Yes this has been referred to the appropriate legal bodies.

The beach next door is beautiful
The room is very small and freshly painted. It is very, very noisey with no noise control in the adjacent park area including people talking outside and children playing. I understood the room was quiet and it was the opposite until 1230am

If you want live music, this place is pretty famous for it.
The rooms were noisy, thin walls, long-term residents would start shouting and blasting music early in the morning. You could hear the live music from the bar in the room. Couldn't shut the windows fully. No air-conditioning. No lock on bathroom door. Sink outside of bathroom. Only a couple of washing machines. Kitchen messy and crowded. Front desk couldn't find a key for me, so I had to share with another girl in the room for the first day and night.

location
no air conditioning - made for a very hot night - my fault for not checking at time of booking but still a surprise given the pricing of $380 for 1 night

the bed was kinda nice
it’s not a backpackers hostel! it’s a motel. I really didn’t like it and I did not feel safe. When I came there at night, there were groups of young men with hoodies standing in front of the different rooms. there was also a lot of noise and with thin walls you really can’t sleep. people were screaming the whole night. I didn’t want to sleep in the mixed dorm I booked so I changed it to a room on my own, but needed to pay a lot of money.
