Everything! The food was incredible, the host very accommodating, going out of her way to teach us the basics of staying a ryokan and giving us choices of time to use the private onsen and dining room. The dinner was beautiful and really warmed the soul after a rainy day. The breakfast was a choice between western or Japanese styles. We had the Japanese style which was delicious and kept us full most of the day! The location was great, mere steps from the shopping street and the famous Shinto shrine. The other four hotels we stayed in were standard hotel rooms and this ryokan was more comfortable than all of them.
Everything was amazing, it’s hard to find something not to like. I’m not sure if a shuttle was available. Honestly one is not needed because the walk is quick (and beautiful) from the ferry terminal, however on a rainy day like the one we arrived to, it would have been a nice option.

The host made ourselves feel like at home. The room was very cosy. When we arrived she gave us all the tips for visiting the island, including tide schedule. We had private access to the onsen for 1hr for the whole family. The day we left, it was raining heavily and the host gave us a lift to the ferry station in their private car. Lovely stay thanks to great japanese hosts
Brand new set of towels would have been appreciated

Lovely ryokan with lovely people running it. The room was spacious, clean and we really enjoyed the traditional decor. They organise the use of the onsen so you can have it for your own for an hour, which was the perfect extra touch for a fantastic stay. 100% recommend.

I stayed here for one night but wish I’d had the chance to stay longer! The owners were so welcoming and hospitable (even helping me to dry off my shoes after a rainy day when I arrived!), the room was comfortable, and the private bath was really relaxing - perfect after a lot of walking and travelling. Miyajima is a beautiful island, so this was an ideal spot to stay and explore.

The entire experience with the family business was great! The place was lovely, the location was convenient, the people were amazing. We mainly interacted with Yoko, and she was amazing. I wold return here again with my family!
The only negative was the tourists who were fighting next door to our room at 3am. I don't think that's the staff's fault, but I wish there was a way to communicate to incoming tourists to respect the quiet time.

Loved this place. It already looked amazing in the photos but it completely exceeded my expectations. The owners are so welcoming, friendly and helpful and sleeping in a traditional Japanese accomodations will be something I’ll never forget. Super clean rooms and you get to try the onsen as well. 100% reccomended.

It was a very traditional ryokan and the staff really made you feel at home! It is simple, clean and I could leave my luggage even before check in and after check out while I was exploring Miyajima. The level of English the staff could speak was good and they recommended me places to eat and advised me to have dinner early. Upon check-in, you can also book your time to take a bath (shared bath facility) and when to have breakfast the next day. Watched the sunset from the viewing deck which was a nice treat:) The breakfast which was traditional Japanese breakfast was amazing (absolutely loved it) and i enjoyed the tranquility that this ryokan offered. Learning the historical story behind this ryokan has even solidified my satisfaction with my choice:) I even received a parting gift at the end of my stay which was really sweet:")

Perfect location, easy walk from the ferry. Kids loved the loft beds. Gracious and welcoming owners. Lovely traditional building. Great bath large enough for the whole family. The massage chair in the top floor common room was an unexpected bonus!

Excellent traditional Japanese inn, located on a quiet back street of Miyajima away from the tourists but close to Itsukushima Shrine. Private bath was much appreciated by my friends who had never been in a Japanese bath before. Breakfast was filling and delicious (you got a choice of Western and Japanese). They don't use MSG in their Japanese stock.
No negative points.
