Rooms have been recently refurbished to a high standard so our room was pleasant and comfortable. Excellent shower.
Staff consistently friendly and helpful.
A little more thought with detail. Nowhere to hang towels in bathroom - hooks at a minimum but ideally a towel rail. Insufficient electrical points and USB charging points not working.
Extractor fan outside room 10 intrusive.

Location and bar
Room was very warm and creeky floorboards.
Access after hours was confusing

My stay at the Goddard Arms, Swindon, was generally fair - have stayed there a number of times before. The staff were excellent.
On this occasion the kitchen wasn't working properly which meant a restricted dinner menu, plus I couldn't actually have the cooked breakfast I'd paid for. Also, I had to pay in cash at the bar for the first 1-2 hours because their card processing facility was down. Luckily I had sufficient cash on me.
2.5
Location and parking
Ceiling -paper falling and stained around light fitting- poorly maintained
Outside stairs- dirty with litter on steps

It was a really nice place to stay, Great value for money and everything you need 🙂
I've go no complaints at all, Highley recommended 👌
3.5
Convenient, parking, ease of checkout
Slightly noisy although to be expected with central location

Lovely staff. Comfy bed. Nespresso machine in room. Iron and hairdryer. Good size room. Great breakfast, a lot of choice and the full English wasn't greasy.
Needed more coat hangers. Half roll toilet tissue and no extra. Couldn't shut bathroom window so had some snails visit the bathroom from the vines outside. Shower either scalding or freezing.

location , lovely breakfast

staff were helpful
Pretty run down hotel and the rooms are tired and look better in the pics than they really are. There were buckets in the corridor collecting leaking water from the roof…honestly?! Functional and cheap but that’s about it.

My room was lovely and clean
Breakfast was pretty bad. Eggs Benedict- under cooked eggs and bacon. Sauce almost splitting

Location was great and free parking a bonus

Perfectly adequate single room, which was nice and warm given the very cold weather. The ensuite facilities were obviously very new. I liked the Nespresso coffee machine.
The room was a little gloomy. There was a problem with the door to the ensuite, which the staff managed to fix eventually. The out of hours access arrangements were a bit confusing.

Good location
Constant loud noise throughout the night like a generator so didn't sleep. Lots of shouting too.

The location
the toilet was used when I arrived, not cleaned or flushed

lovely pub downstairs. Lively and fun. Food was pretty good too
Central heating noise all night and noisy street side bedroom on a Saturday night at least. sadly not a good nights sleep.

Great location, large and comfy room

Location was perfect for a family/friends gathering
The downstairs bar area is lovely.
The rooms need updating, and the floor in ours was quite uneven, which isn’t ideal when you are on crutches.
The road noise was awful and I didn’t sleep much. The window sashes had snapped and the windows were filthy on the outside and there was black sooty dust all over the interior window sill. Also every time someone one closed a door our bedroom wall shook.
Breakfast has burnt sausage and the scrambled egg was white 🤔 I didn’t eat it. The breakfast waitress was great, she was very welcoming and efficient.
I don’t think the rooms are worth the price paid.
