The location was picturesque and the hotel was charming, although in need of some tlc.
We arrived at check in time but there was no one in the hotel. Some keys had been left in reception, but none with our name. After a phone call, the proprietor arrived, we wanted to eat having travelled all day, but the restaurant is only open for breakfast, we were recommended a nearby restaurant, but it wasn't dog friendly, so we had to find another place & being rural, most places were closing. Our room was in the attic, no air con, it was unbearable hot. You cannot get a drink as the proprietor doesn't live on site, luckily we had some bottles of water as there is nothing close by. Everything about this place is a bit shabby & unloved. Breakfast was OK, prepacked cake, a apple that had been sitting there gathering dust from the day before and half a toasted sandwich. I had the feeling the proprietor couldn't care less about his guests and I wouldn't return.

Very nice breakfast, and spacious room and bathroom. Staff was very friendly. Good value for money.
The bed had dog hair in the covers.

The accommodation was what we needed and was at a reasonable price. Friendly welcome and helpful staff.
We had not realised that the restaurant only provided breakfast which was the same each day. It would have been nice to eat there or nearby in the evening but the only places to eat were a short car drive away.

Lovely eclectic decoration and architecture in a stunning rural setting. Excellent breakfast.
If you are arriving on foot or bicycle ( the hotel is on the camino) then check in advance if the restaurant is open for dinner. There are limited other local options for dinner.

Our primary reason for visiting the area was to go to the Altamira Cave Museum. Trisileja en Puente Romano is a very pleasant, small hotel with character about 15 min away from the tourist zone surrounding the cave site. Our room was simple but comfortable. The breakfast was very good with excellent coffee and fresh lemonade. Alina provided a recommendation of a place about 5 min away for dinner that was very good.
We had trouble unlocking the front door when we returned from dinner around 10:30 PM; the lock can be a bit difficult to operate. Make sure you know how it works if you're going to be returning late at night.

The place was very good; and, regarding staff, thanks to "Yoli" and "Juli" because you are great. Fantastic breakfast.

It is located in a fantastic village and you can walk to the ocean, enjoying the beautiful landscape. The staff members, especially the ladies in the restaurant, were very friendly. The breakfast is also good.
There is absolutely nothing in the area. We were not familiar with the neighborhood and when we reached there, everywhere was closed. In the hotel, you can't even find a bottle of water. The restaurant works only for breakfast. We had to go to a gas station to buy some food as dinner. I recommend installing a vending machine so that people can survive and for sure will increase the satisfaction of the costumers.
And for the breakfast, there is nothing special in it. I think they can improve it by adding more options.

Handy location and useful location advice on arrival.
The small shared outside/balcony area is not well maintained; peeling paint, rusty fake plants and the wall of the balcony is cracked so may not be safe.
Breakfast; If you arrived after 8.30, it was common to have to wait for a table. Limited staff clearing tables, so this was slow.
Breakfast selection is fixed (ham sandwich, bread, cake, two green apple's per table, coffee, homemade lemon juice).
Unhelpful manager; not possible to charge a phone when out of your room, as key switches on the electric.

We liked that it was a historic building. It was pleasant to hear cowbells through our open window and the lizard visiting in the bathroom was rather cute. The owners were extremely polite and helpful. The village was small and a pleasure to walk around. We would stay here again.
The wifi did not work in our room. It was very strong in the reception area. The breakfast was not of high quality however, for the price, we would not complain.

Breakfast was very good, home made sandwiches, juice from own lemon trees and a lot of other typical food.
Room was very spacious.

a bit tricky to find

Comfortable bed and friendly welcome.
Bathroom tiles on floor could have been cleaned with anti mould liquid. Maybe the room hadn't been used lately?
I guess due to COVID the restaurant and bar was closed but would have been good to have this signalled in the content online beforehand.
